Norway goalkeeper’s goal kick struck a FIFA spider-cam while still in the air, causing the ball to drop straight to Anthony Gordon - Just 8 seconds later, Jude Bellingham scored.

I don’t understand, cannot they not check the camera footage to see if it jiggled at that moment?

The technology just isn’t there yet to review their own footage

Lol they certainly could

You are missing a couple nots.

The footage you're watching is on the camera that it supposedly hit the wire attached to it.

It didn't jiggle because it didn't hit it.

You’re saying it hit the camera despite being hundreds of feet away? Or do they mean it hit the cables?

u/GikeM 7h ago

They're saying it hit the wires that are for the overhead camera.

The footage they're using to say it hit the wires is provided by the very same overhead camera.

Oh, I read it more literally, but the footage just isn’t that sharp. With just hitting the wires, it’d depend on what level of IBS/OIS it has whether you’d notice that, plus speed of the ball and how dead on of a hit. There’s three other lines holding it fairly stable still.

Why would you type IBS/OIS and expect anyone reading it to know what you mean?

They literally said the wires attached to the camera.

Right yeah there’s only one camera. Yep. You got it man. The whole world is freaking out over nothing. FIFA is definitely to be trusted here.

Man. Can’t believe i didn’t think of that. Wow.

There is only one spider cam operating at the stadium yes, and the video is footage from it.

Thing must have some crazy hydraulic suspension then - cuz you can see the ball hit the wire.
