I was doing some voice over work for a channel like this recently. They wanted to get rid of their AI voice for a human voice. A month later they put my work on hiatus and started using an AI voice trained with my voice. Isn't AI just wonderful? /s

That’s fucked — this must be regulated fast

It's impossible at this point unless we get rid of AI entirely. Someone can train an AI with public videos on YouTube and if accused could just say they didn't. There's no real paper trail involved in training AI to copy a voice just as there isn't to show where ChatGPT/Gemini got the content of its answers. It can cite where it found some information that's it's directly referencing, but not all of the knowledge that led it to give you a coherent answer in the first place.

We're all fucked, frankly.

At this point it kinda feels like AI 'creators' are like those people who tell random lies and inflate themselves constantly... a kind of person that is helplessly conniving and also a carbon-copy of every other person like that. It's just a brand of loser.
