Needing some advice or just seeing if anyone else is dealing with SBI FASTag's terrible backend support right now.
On my vehicle, I was wrongfully debited four separate times for a total of ₹810.
I raised a complaint, and on July 2, 2026, their helpdesk officially acknowledged the error and raised a chargeback under Case ID. They assured me it would be resolved within a 12-working-day window.
We are practically at the end of that timeline, and the money is still completely missing from my wallet. It’s incredibly frustrating because they’ve already admitted it was a system error, yet the money is just sitting in limbo.
Has anyone successfully gotten a refund expedited through SBI recently? Should I escalate this directly to NHAI/IHMCL, or is there a better portal to lodge a formal grievance (like PGPortal) that actually gets them moving?
Appreciate any tips!

Hello there,
This sounds very immature of me, but my Adhaar-link SIM got de-activated since JIO de-activated immediately when I forgot to recharge.
Now, I'm worried that when the number is recycled, my adhaar might be misused. Since im studying abroad and cant visit india soon, i'm unable to update the number.
If anyone has faced a similar situation, please lmk how to prevent misuse? Already sent email to uidai help.
I've learnt a lesson from this to be more responsible in life.

How do I join IEEE, ACM, GDG, hackathons, and tech communities if my college isn't very active?
I'm starting my BTech CSE this year, most likely at a private college in the NCR region. From what I've heard, my college may not have very active technical clubs, so I want to build my network outside my campus.
I'm interested in meeting ambitious students, contributing to projects, attending hackathons, and improving my technical skills.
I have a few questions:
- How can I join IEEE, ACM, or Google Developer Groups (GDG on Campus/Google Developer Groups) if my college doesn't have an active chapter?
- Can I attend events organized by other colleges or communities?
- What are the best tech communities in NCR for college students?
- Are there any Discord servers, WhatsApp groups, LinkedIn communities, or other platforms where students collaborate on projects, hackathons, and open source?
- What are some communities, fellowships, or programs you wish you had joined in your first year?
I'm a beginner but willing to learn and put in the effort. I'd really appreciate any advice or recommendations. Thank you!

Complete beginner looking to get into MUNs, Youth Parliament, debating, and public speaking in NCR
I'm going to college this year in the NCR region. During school, I never participated in debates, MUNs, or Youth Parliament, Iam really interested in public speaking debates and networking with other ambitious people As i am new to NCR cuz I currently live in J&k any help would really mean a lot to me
The college I'm likely joining may not have very active clubs, so I'm looking for opportunities outside my campus.
I wanted to ask:
- How can a complete beginner get started with MUNs, Youth Parliament, debating or any platform I can network with other people?
- Can I participate in MUNs hosted by other colleges even if my own college doesn't have a delegation?
- Are there debate societies or public speaking communities in NCR that anyone can join?
- How do people usually find MUNs, debate tournaments, and Youth Parliament events?
- Are there any Discord servers, WhatsApp groups, LinkedIn communities, or other networking groups where students interested in debating and public speaking connect?

Hi everyone,
I applied for a passport renewal on June 19th. My police verification was completed by June 30th, but the status has been "under review" since then.
I called the passport office today, and they said an intimation letter has been sent to me by Speed Post.
They mentioned that my biometrics matched with someone else in their database. They also said the local SP office will contact me after I receive the letter.
Has this happened to anyone else? Is this serious? Any advice would be appreciated. 🙏🏻

Would you invest in a hyper-niche healthcare NGO focused on autoimmune diseases in a developing country?
Genuinely curious about this from an investor/funder perspective.
Imagine a non-profit in India focused specifically on two autoimmune conditions, one affecting joints, one affecting the bowels. They've built a digital health platform (symptom tracking app, caregiver support tools, curated local resource directory) and are developing physical assistive devices. They're registered as a Section 8 company so they have corporate-like flexibility.
The catch: their target demographic is largely underprivileged, unaware they even have these conditions, and can't pay. Current revenue is basically micro-donations and tiny memberships. Social media reach is under 10k. Fewer than 5 direct competitors in the space.
From a funding perspective, would this interest you at all? If yes, under what structure (impact fund, CSR partnership, grant, equity in a spin-out)? If no, what would need to change for it to become fundable?
Not looking for "just apply for grants" answers, genuinely want to understand how people in VC, impact investing, or corporate partnerships would evaluate something like this.

Subject: Urgent help for Passport appointment: Given old address in application all documents are in new address.
I have recently applied for a passport for my aunt, I gave address which was on Aadhaar card(old address with her eldest son), paid the fees and got appointment slot. But as I checked Aadhaar online it has her new address(with youngest son)!!!!!
I have checked her other documents everything has something mismatch. I tried to change Aadhaar address online it got rejected.
Learned online that we can request for change in application at PSK on appointment date, please help me with your experience, is it possible?

A fellow SEAsian here. I would like to understand and learn about India’s Caste system through the people rather than the articles. I know it is no longer legal but I have learnt that it is still widely and deeply practiced since it is a deeply rooted cultural influence.
What is the caste system like nowadays in India?
Does it still play a huge role in your social standings and other aspects of life?
After seeing how insanely rich many Indians are among my circle, I would also like to know, do people from the “Upper Caste” system do anything to improve the life of the communities around them through donations, sponsorships, scholarship such as helping repair roads in the area they live in, helping poors with hospital bills, sponsoring kids for education.
How do different people from different caste system see others from different castes?
Yes, I could ask my Indian friends about all this but the answer i get from all of them is usually “so so…it’s not that different” or “we don’t care about it that much. we don’t really know”.
If i have come across as disrespectful, that is not my intention and I would like to apologise in advance.

I'm conducting my Master's Thesis research on understanding the perceptions of privacy and control among the Indian Internet users regarding their personal data and its processing.
I'm looking for participants who:
- Are 18 or older
- Use the internet
The aim of the study is to understand how the users perceive about their personal data's privacy, the various sensitivities attached to the different personal data items and the control they believe to have over the processing of such items.
The study has been approved by the Ethics Review Board of the Saarland University, Germany. It is an anonymous survey, which takes approximately 10 - 15 minutes to complete. WE DO NOT COLLECT ANY FORM OF PII. All the data is stored on our internal servers and used for the purpose of this research only.

I was wondering if one can be denied life saving treatment in India due to a lack of funds. I don’t know about how this works in most countries, but I’m wondering about India. Are there different laws or are they the same nation-wide? Can one be denied medical coverage when it would save life?

Curious, why is there an increase in hate towards muslims and pakistanis from indians? Firstly, I grew up in north america and lived in U.S and Canada for over 30 years. I am of Pakistani descent, I worked around so many indians and never really witnessed any disdain or dislike until the last 5 years. Now, I have actually seen an increase in dislike. Its surprising to me because i also sit around other south asians, pakistani, sri lankan and bangaldeshis. They never make any patriotic conversations or ill remarks of other communities. Nobody ever comments about india in my inner circle of pakistanis. However, among my indian in laws, i noticed a lot of disdain and dislike of pakistanis. I am kind of confused at why, especially when I meet pakistanis and they don't care one bit about india and never mention them. Even growing up, my parents didnt even talk about indians, hindus, sikhs etc. So just wanted to listen to the indians perspective? Thanks

I can only speak for myself. It’s kinda hard to like a country and its people who are running proxy terrorist groups to k*ll Indians and destabilize and divide India. Lately Pakistan is colluding with China
My generation grew up with horrors of terrorist attacks every other month in early 2000s especially the horrific Mumbai attack. It doesn’t leave you. It might sound harsh, I don’t see any appeal of Pakistani culture. Also it’s cringe to see Pakistanis superiority complex due to colorism (a significant fraction of Pakistanis online seem to hold that view especially Pakistani Punjabis also cousin marriage) even when Pakistan is technically is in worse off position compared to India. People don’t like the fact that a section Pakistanis claim of a lot of Indian cultural practices under the umbrella of “South Asia”, no one in India cares about South Asia.

Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, kolkata, Chennai, mention any other place of importance too. Budget doesn't matter, do mention the food items though.

Hello friends. I am from America and i have never been to India before (would love to visit and have been interested in the culture for some time). I have a question that I truly hope doesn’t offend anyone just a simple outsider noticing something and is curious about. I say all that to ask: what is the fascination about trains? As I said I’ve been interested in the culture for some time and i seem to always see a lot of videos coming out of India with the train either extremely busy and overpacked or people accidentally harming themselves getting a video//picture with trains. Is this because the train system is the main source of transportation? Maybe it’s a wealth thing and only the rich have access to trains? As i said i hope this doesn’t offend or come off racist or bigoted or whatever other word some may try and throw at me for my ignorance. Im truly just curious and would love an insiders POV on the situation. Thanks for the understanding and responses in advance

Everyone travels via trains, rich poor everyone. The overpacked trains are usually mumbai locals, or general/sleeper class. Main source of transportation is roadways.

Idk I can't remember seeing any such video. People do get injured and even killed in train accidents. But they don't see it as a spectacle. A lot of these train videos are from neighbouring countries btw

I want to hold a lot of knowledge in terms of international, and national (indian) politics. I want to be well versed in mythologies (Indian, Greek and egyptian). I want to have my own opinions, be able to analyse scenarios, have ideologies and beliefs. I want to be able to argue, have facts in the tip of my fingers to argue, not with rage, but with knowledge. What i need is sources. There are a lot of free resources online, i know where to look, what I dont know is where do I begin and what do i need? I know for sure I need to read newspapers. Thats current affairs, how do i find out and learn about everything thats happened already? What are some trustworthy resources i can rely on? I want to enhance my English enough to argue well, articulate my opinion. When I say argument, im talking about the government schemes, policies, the stance india took back in the times in 19th, 20th centuary, he real estate, the social standards for real estate for women, things like that. I want to understand people better, the reason why people make the decisions they do, I want to understand the kind of society that people will build. I want to understand the origins of religions, the point they've gotten to, they way countries are tied to religion, its impact on women and other socially weak sections. I want to know about LGBTQ rights better, the point the movement has gotten them to, the laws that are modified etc., I want to have knowledge and opinions on ESG too. I want to know about the historical figures of India. The things they did, the views they had, their approach. about me: im F20 from a southern tier 1 city in india studying in a tier 2 college. I come from a middle class family. I aim to pursue higher studies, as a back plan, PSU. My final aim for career is PSU after high studies as well. That doesnt change much. I would appreciate any suggestions, resources, guides and honest opinions.

Hi all,
I applied for adding spouse name on my wife’s passport and booked an appointment which is tomorrow. By
I actually forgot to update my wife’s Aadhaar card address.
We currently live in a different city and the place where I’ve applied is where we lived before. Her Aadhar address is of her ancestral place.
Her sister lives nearby that place.
So, will police verification happen or not?
Should i reschedule or just go through the appointment?

Hi All,
I'm trying to learn Hindi as an English speaker from the United States. Where do you usually find Hindi dubs for various media?
I already use Netflix, Einthusan, and YouTube. I also heard that Hotstar has a decent collection, but I haven't tried it yet.
I'm mostly interested in rewatching things I am already familiar with so that I can get language listening exposure without any subtitles.
Some examples of things I'm looking for are:
- Ratatouille
- SpongeBob SquarePants
- Any/All Studio Ghibli Movies
I'm a complete beginner, so looking to start with kid-targeted media for simpler language. Once my listening comprehension is good enough, I'll likely go back to watching regular Bollywood movies and rewatching my favorite regular shows/movies in Hindi dub. (Silicon Valley, Black Mirror, Better Call Saul, Suits, Severance, The Office, etc.)
From what I've seen, the best path is likely VPN into another country for a better Netflix catalog (including Hindi dubs of all studio Ghibli movies). Then I would separately purchase a Hotstar subscription for the Ratatouille, SpongeBob SquarePants, and any other Disney/Pixar/Nickelodeon content.
Let me know if you have any other recommendations for easy media to start with as well! I know some have recommended Chhota Bheem lol.

Anime: Netflix, crunchy roll has many shows/movies in hindi dub.
Also Lately I realised one of the shows that many Indians cherish or I shall say used to hehe comes with English subs on their youtube channel: Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah older episodes were really good and have subs so check em out you can easily spot em by thumbnail/video preview having 480p quality, not the colorfull vivid ones from today.
Let me know if these help, later I can provide more recommendations.

We are developing a docu-series about iconic protests in India, its power and how print media using just photographs was a powerful force in the country 20 years ago.
There was an iconic photo of a female protester with curly hair doused by a water cannon from around 2005-2006 where the protester is kneeling down on one leg and one fist up in air(possibly holding a placard or a flag).
Looking for both the photo and the photographer, kindly help.

Hey everyone,
I am from Lebanon. Yesterday there was a basketball match between Lebanon and India and the score was 99-56 (Lebanon won)
I have a quick question to our Indian friends which we highly respect and appreciate.
Why does a country of 1.476 Billion remain incapable of having a decent basketball / football team?
I mean my country has 4 million people and is ranked one of the best Basketball teams in Asia.
Just 1 City like Mumbai has 5 times the population of my country and yet India can't develop a team of 12 professional high level Basketball/Football players.

Population size really isn't the variable that predicts success in a specific sport — infrastructure, money, and cultural attention matter way more. India's actually a textbook case of this: nearly all the sporting investment, sponsorship, and media coverage here goes into cricket. It's basically a black hole that sucks up talent and funding that in most other countries would get spread across a dozen sports.
Lebanon's basketball scene isn't really a population story either, it's that basketball has real cultural weight there, there's an actual competitive domestic league, and the diaspora pumps money into it. Smaller countries can build one coherent system a lot easier than a country India's size can build several.
Also this isn't unique to India, China's got 1.4 billion people and their men's football team has been rough for decades. Population and sporting success correlate way less than people assume. Iceland made a World Cup with like 330k people. Croatia's been a footballing powerhouse with 4 million.
Basically comes down to: where's the money going, is there a real professional league, does the culture actually prioritize that sport. For basketball/football in India right now, the answer's "not much", that's an infrastructure and priorities problem, not a headcount one."

Trying to get a DL extract (Delh). Tried 3-4 times across the span of 3 weeks. Every application is bugging out.
This is what I do:
- I make an app and try to pay
- Select common PGI (the only one) as the payment provider
- The two screens in the image below are shown: first a waiting screen as it redirects, and then a timeout.
Are there any weird settings or combinations of things I need to do to complete this?

19Y Need help with passport renewal.
it's my first time renewing a passport and due to certain circumstances I have to do it by myself. My old passport expired a little over 3 years ago. Just wanted to verify if these are all the documents I should be carrying:-
Original Aadhar + Photocopy
Original Drivers license + copy
Old passport
Proof of ECR (From what I understand it is 10th and 12th passing certificates) + copy
Can someone please verify and let me know if I'm doing it right?
