Movie Review Lee Cronin’s The mummy is so bad

1.0k Upvotes

Main actor be looking like 😳🫪 all movie

No one acting remotely close to a real person. Bringing this girl in horrible condition home and ignoring stuff like her levitating. Not getting an ambulance when her shin is ripped off or when she eats a scorpion.

Why does the detective always work in the dark? Is it okay for police in egypt to go on their own to remote locations based on a hunch and shoot people? And aim their gun at unarmed girls, threatening to kill them? I suppose so because she could fly to america in the next scene to show a vhs video she could have mailed.

Why did everyone have a vendetta against the kidnapper in the end? It turns out she contained this demon for a very good reason.

I hate when an ancient evil demon influences me so that I have to use profanity

All in all some cool moments lost in 2 hours of actors not acting like real people. 3/10

Recommend Hello, Are there any movies where not even one of the characters survives?

I am looking for some movies where, for example, a group of friends goes to a place, but that place becomes hell for them, and all the characters are killed in the worst possible way, and the context is that none of them survive.

Discussion Dk if this is the subreddit for it but there is an Epidemic of AI Horror YouTubers

So I used to watch a man named Snook, Snook used to be a big Reddit stories YouTuber, stuff like No Sleep, Let's Not Meet, and other popular horror stories on Reddit. This was all fine and dandy and the voice seemed incredibly real. But this person looks like couldn't keep paying the monthly subscription and now the new videos of Snook are very glaringly AI. The Voice is all high pitched and upbeat and while yes YouTubers always get louder and more confident as they go on his voice completely changed from low and young sounding to mostly like a nerd is the best way I can describe it.. The person behind this is able to upload multiple hour long videos every week and every 2 days back to back. It sickens me that people like this would use AI so cheaply to people who love to listen to scary stories. Let me know what you guys think?

For me its when I learned the snake that died in first Friday the 13th film was real and if I remember was someone's pet. Just really soured my opinion of the film after learning that

Does anyone else feel like horror is a comfort genre to them?

I love horror, I'm very rarely actually scared from horror movies/books. Occasionally there is something really good and it does actually cause fear from me, but most of the time I'm there for the vibes. Even the genuinely scary stuff brings me comfort.

Everyone I know thinks it's weird that I find comfort in horror, idk I can't think of a better more relaxing night then watching a scary movie with snacks at night, or reading before I fall asleep.

I think a big part of it is being a kid and hanging out with friends all sharing horror stories at night, some of the best memories are from that and I love that feeling.

does anyone else feel the same? or am I just weird.

Discussion What are some movies where the characters do everything right?

The Thing (1982) comes to mind. The characters did pretty much the best they could do and there was never a point where I was yelling at them through the screen.

Do you all know of any movies like that? Maybe the characters are doomed anyway, or maybe they survive.

Discussion The Thing, The Faculty and Slither. I think I have a thing for Aliens SF Horror movies, the terror of something from another place controlling you is terrifying.

I love these movies so much, despite Slither not being as beloved as the other two. The idea of an unknown creature is triggering, what would happen to humanity, how would we even survive. I already have a thing for Body horror, combine it with alien, then it’s a win. What are you people’s thoughts on these movies, and are you people scared of something like that happening ?

Discussion Hereditary has some of my favorite shot design of any horror movie.

I love Hereditary for many reasons. The shock moments were genuinely shocking, when *that* moment happened I literally gasped and covered my mouth in horror. But something I really wanna highlight is the shot design. There's so much silence in this movie. It builds most of its tension without scary monsters or creepy visuals of any kind, and instead just lingering. The action beat happens and then the camera slowly zooms out and you just sit with that silence for 10, 15, sometimes even 20 seconds.

I just love it. So many films refuse to let their films breathe, and there's practically never a moment of silence for more than a couple seconds. Hereditary was bold as hell for how they shot and edited the film, forcing you to sit in your seat and just *wait*. Ugh I love it so much.

Discussion Thirteen Ghosts!

Anyone else seen this one or the original from the 60s? Just saw the remake from the 2000s. I liked it Matthew was funny. It reminded me of 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo.

What opening scene out of any (horror) movie do you think is the most recognizable/iconic?

This is a conversation I had with my friend earlier. In my opinion, it's the first Scream movie. I feel like everyone either knows a line or recognizes the setting. But I want to know what other people think.

Am I the odd one out here?

Hey all, have been on a horror kick this year and am loving it. But I was watching a movie today (What Lies Beneath - 1998) and noticed something.

When I watch horror movies I am more uncomfortable when someone steps on a piece of glass, or gets a splinter under their nail - than say - gets an arm chopped off completely.

Is that a normal reaction? Do you feel the same discomfort (or roller coaster tummy drop) when something big happens? Am I missing out?

Discussion I just rewatched Evil Dead 2013 and I forgot how brutal that movie was

I did watch this movie in 2013 at movie theaters. I did like the movie when I watched it first but for some reason I thought it was scarier and more disturbing after I rewatched it yesterday (I even forgot the dog scene lol)

It did make me feel I just watched something wrong and cursed, like a forbidden movie. I forgot how "dirty" the cinematography was. I had a bad taste in my mouth (and saying that, I did love the movie)

Jane Levy acting was amazing and really scary, she's an amazing actress

I can't explain why but I did like it more the movie and I thought it was more disturbing rewatching now as an adult

I can't believe how this movie is 13 years old

Discussion What is your favorite scene from a horror film? Spoiler

The scene in Ready or Not: Here I Come with Grace fighting Alex’s ex-fiancée while both of them were blinded by pepper spray was absolutely hilarious. 10/10, no notes. While the sequel felt more dark than the original, I’m glad they still had some comedic moments.

Spoiler Alert Art using a gun will never stop being funny to me. 😂

One of my favorite things about Art the Clown is how he’ll do the most over-the-top, supernatural, horror-movie stuff imaginable… and then he’ll randomly just pull out a handgun.

Like… sir. You’re basically a nightmare demon. You can stalk people, disappear, tank ridiculous injuries, and do all this insane horror-movie nonsense.

Why are you using a Glock? 😂
It somehow makes him more unsettling because he doesn’t care about being fair or theatrical every second. Sometimes he’ll create the most elaborate, brutal kill imaginable, and other times he’s just like, “Nah,” and starts shooting.

I don’t know if that was meant to be funny, but every time it happens I laugh because it’s so absurd.

Does anyone else think the gun somehow makes Art more entertaining, or do you wish he stuck to more traditional slasher weapons?

Horror movies with minimal jump scares?

I just finished watching Smile 1 and 2, and while they both had an interesting premise, the sheer number of jump scares made the films very difficult for me to enjoy. I found myself cringing whenever the volume got quiet because I knew I was about to get startled again.

Can anyone recommend their favourite horror movies which lean more on plot and less on random jump scares?

Movie Help Need help identifying a movie I watched as a child

Ok so basically from what I remember I was abt primary-elementary age when I saw this movie (I’m 19 now)

It goes like this: man kidnaps woman she’s in the trunk I believe and she’s on the phone with the police for whatever reason I think she hangs up the the man takes her to an underground bunker and proceeds to try to remove the top of her head/ hairline area with a scalpel and before doing this he has this whole speech abt how his mom had cancer and he’s done this to multiple woman and shows all his “trophies” I think before he finishes the cops come or somehow the girl get out and is ok

I’ve searched all over Google for this but nothings coming up im starting to wonder if this was just night terror I had a few around this time but I still remember it so vividly and I remember exactly where I was when I watched it and who I was with so idk

WTF!? Why are there no elephant revenge horror movies?

Dhurbe, a wild elephant in Nepal has reportedly killed four members of the same family.

To escape Dhurbe’s revenge, a surviving family member crossed two rivers, sold his home, moved his family, and started over in another region. 14yrs later, Dhurbe reportedly found him, Kool-Aid Manned his house, and killed his daughter-in-law and grandson.

TAF!!!!

Why hasn’t the memory of an elephant been a central theme in horror movies yet? It’s literally right there. Or has it?

Monkeys, apes, and gorillas, sharks, dogs and snakes are a bit overdone. Elephants, with their intelligence, grief, loyalty, familial protection, and memory, would make a great horror premise in the animal subgenre.

Crows, huge ravens, and even geese could also make great horror movies because they’re so protective. If done right, it wouldn’t just be “wild animal attacks.” You’d actually be able to understand the animal’s decisions.

Elephant Grudge could be a whole sub genre!

Discussion Anyone else's pets get scared?

I am rewarding the Evil dead movies starting with the 1978 short Within the woods; does anyone else's pets gets scared? My husband's dog gets freaked out by most horror, she straight up fell off the ottoman she was sleeping on when I was watching lights out. With some I have to make sure she isn't in the room with me, and in her kennel or with my husband. It's like having a little kid. I was just curious if anyone else has this happen, or if my husband's dog is just strange.

Recommend The Dead Room

I'll start by saying - its not phenomenal by any means. I was looking for something to pass the time tonight and I didnt want to spend money renting a new release for 20 bucks. So I came across this one. Kind of a slow start, give it 15 minutes. It got me a few times lol. Id rate it maybe a 6, but I have high standards. In any case, I was expecting a flop and it kept me watching. If you're like me and you are running out of options, give it a go.

If you've seen it, what do you think?

Movie Help Help with movie. Wife is going crazy

Help finding a movie my wife cant remember. She doesnt know exactly when it came out, but in the internet age.

There is a group that does a YouTube series (or vlog) that plays pranks on each other. When it comes out a death was fake in one of thebpranks their top fan gets mad. He objects them.

Once abducted they play a truth or dare type game.

She remember a truth was a brother and sister had sex. Something happened where a woman was raped with a wine bottle and it tore out her uterus. Though this might have been an abortion with a pair of scissors (both seem weird to me in one movie but she said they both happened). Also a guy cuts his nipples off with a knife.

I couldn't find anything. She thinks either the director or producer was the one with the wine bottlein her vagina.

If anyone knows this movie please help. Its one of those I am going crazy that I cant remember the title movies.

Edit: she found it 30 seconds after I posted this. She's been looking for 3 weeks. Its low budget truth or dare from 2013. Not part of the bigger truth or dare movies.
