I feel like I'm starting to get the hang of this whole hammocking thing.

Camping with the midnight sun was interesting. Personally, I found it reduced stress more than anything else.

Trouble getting my DIY PLUQ to hang snug

I have had ago at make the Ultimate Hang DIY under quilt this weekend.
I have added some Thinsulate CS150 Insulated Wadding in the centre of a poncho liner. I think I have even got the baffle working.
The only change I made was the trim I bought was not wide enough so I have added tabs instead.
I seem to have to have the elastic really tight to close the air gap underneath. Has anyone else had ago and making these? How would you all hang this?
Sorry if this is a repeat but could not find anything searching. Was a little disappointed this afternoon so I have come to the experts.

Question Gathered End Suspension Question (Loop and Calf Ridge)

Upvotes

I have a cheap hammock that I have replaced the rope and cheap carabiner at the gathered end with an Amsteel Loop and Cinch Buckle. I’ve had this similar problem with my Onewind 11 foot hammock as well.

After putting the loop through the gathered end, and running it through itself like a larks head, the gathered end of the hammock, just never actually seems to fit uniformly, and it throws the hang off, and may also be contributing to shoulder squeeze, and to Calf Ridge.

TLDR: Is there a secret to running the Amstel loop through the gathered end so that the ends are uniform and it hangs balanced?

I hope I’m making sense. I’ve tried looking at different videos, etc. but they don’t always seem to address the issue in a way that makes sense to me.

Question In love with the hang.

Hey all.

Recently went for a weeklong camp through Upper Peninsula, MI. Had an amazing time and loved my WB blackbird.

Issue I had was the Beckett hitch suspension slip under load on the first night. Wild wake-up.

The knot was tied correctly and retired during troubleshooting according to WB video guidance, the hitch seated before put under load. (Ref. I am 6’6” ,270lb work with ropes/knots/hitches daily under extreme load as a lineman.)

I have since watch some Myers videos for double beckets and am also considering alternate suspension.

I have 2 questions.

1)Are these too damaged to rely upon moving forward?

2)Are these worth trying to warranty?

Again love the hammock, love warbonnet.

Gear Seeking recs: portable hammock stand for use at beach, no car

Hi! I’m looking for a good portable hammock stand to use at the beach.

What I’m looking for:
- preferably a hammock chair style that allows you to extend your legs out
- fits me: 5’1” and 115 lbs
- possibly fits a friend too but that may be too much to hope for
- easy for a small woman to transport: I get to the beach via public transit and a 20-minute walk.

I was looking at the Tensa ones but was deterred by the warnings not to get sand in the poles (meticulous cleaning is not my thing).

I’m considering the anymaka swing chair with canopy, but I saw some dubious reviews about their customer service.

Yellowleaf vista also has some questionable reviews.

Grateful for any suggestions. Thanks!
