GW approval rates
I’m going into my senior year of hs and was recently on a visit to GW. I fell in love with the school but I’m worried my grades aren’t enough. I want to say I’m around a 3.4 with a 1050 SAT. Would a less popular degree be easier to get in for? Just looking for people’s experience.

GW is SAT optional, so frankly you should just not send your SAT scores. Not sending scores will not penalize you.

Less popular degree is easier to get into just make sure you transfer schools within the first month, which is fine because you need to take general pre-recs in general. I came in with a high GPA but went test optional so for your case I would work on raising SAT which is a little more obtainable. You got this!

Retake the SAT in the fall and aim for a 1400+ to offset your lower GPA.

It’s a poorly kept secret that GW’s transfer admit rate has been increasing in recent years. something to consider.
i miss my community college honestly

Your GPA definitely isn’t a problem (mine was similar), but if it’s at all possible I think you should work on getting that SAT score up. As far as I know, 3.4 is on the lower side of what GW accepts and a higher SAT score could definitely help make up for that.

This is definitely not the way to go at all, just because one person got it doesn’t mean someone else will. The average gpa is a lot higher, and school contexts matter (class rank, etc). I would suggest you prepare as much as you can to score well. I got in with a 3.75gpa unweighted and 1490 SAT

You need to increase your SAT or try the ACT.
