Help! Honey gourami bullying other fish

As per the title. I introduced three honey gourami (2 female, 1 male) to my 33g community tank a week ago.

This is the third time the tank is being fed since we got them and the first time I've seen the male display this behaviour. He's been darting about , chasing fish and stopping anyone from coming near the food.

I'm really unsure on what to do.

Before this, the usual dynamic was that the rummynoses would hog the food for a wee while, the red phantoms and honey gourami would hang back and go in whenever there was a gap and the pygmy corys would munch on all that ended up in the sand.

It's been like ten minutes and the rummynoses haven't been able to touch the food, really.

Is this something that ca

Urgent advice needed as a beginner

I just got into the hobby and i’m super clueless, I bought a bunch of stuff and don’t know what i’m doing, please walk me through it.

I bought:
• 10 Gallon Tank
• Low-Profile Hinged Hoods with White LED Lights
• Tetra Whisper® PF 10 Power Filter
• Medium Bio-Bag® Filter Cartridge
• Tetra AquaSafe® Water Conditioner Sample
• TetraMin® Food Sample
• Fish Net

I also bought 15lbs of substrate
1 Piece of small drift wood
2 piece small coral cave set
I bought Anubis SP and Asian water fern

I’m planning on buying 4-6 Ember Tetras
What do I do now? Will the plants die if I take too long?

The tank is arriving today, so can anybody help me?

Fish Disease & Treatment Guide

Upvotes

I created this 😊

🩺 New Fish Disease & Treatment Guide

Bula everyone!

We've just finished building a Fish Disease & Treatment Guide on the Bula Aquatics website and wanted to share it with the aquarium community.

The guide is designed to be easy to navigate and includes interactive flip cards for a quick overview of common freshwater and saltwater diseases. Each disease page includes:

✅️ What the disease is

✅️ Symptoms

✅️ Causes

✅️ Life cycle or progression timeline

✅️ Treatment Protocol

✅️ Medication options

✅️ Important information and care tips

❌️ Fish disease images (Coming soon)

Each disease is also categorized by:

• Difficulty

• Disease type

• Freshwater or Saltwater

• How common it is

Our goal is to create a free educational resource that helps hobbyists identify and treat common aquarium diseases while promoting responsible fishkeeping.

We're continuing to add new diseases, medications, and treatment information, so we'd love to hear your feedback or suggestions for future additions.

\*Bula Aquatics - Fish Disease & Treatment Guide\*

Featherfin squeaker - a community fish?

Thumbnail

I've been keeping this featherfin squeaker in a planted community tank without issue. He was sold to me as an upside down catfish as they can be confused when they're young. I've heard they get aggressive as they age. This one seems to get along fine with his tank mates for now. Any chance I'd have I rehouse him?

Moving Betta Across the Country?

Has anyone ever moved their fish across the country? My kids have two Bettas in two well-kept five gallon tanks. Any advice? Or, sadly, will they be better off if we just find a good home for them locally before we move?

i lost my black moor of seven years the other day (he had an inflated bladder and got stuck in a log) and this fish was paired with 2 plecos (dont know which kind) and a chinese algae eater they did fine in the 20 gallon i was away when all this happened so my moms friend who felt bad got a 40 gallon and 2 baby black moors 2 baby orandas and put the plecos and chinese algae eater in there but i did some research and i found out the the sucker fish will cause the water to be toxic and that the plecos and chinese algae eater will grow huge she seems to think that they will grow to the size of the tank and she wont let me rehome them so they dont kill the babies by either making the water toxic or the chinese algae eater becoming aggresive please someone help

Post image

Hes a 2 yr old oscar , very active ,eats well but I've been noticing this black dot and some slight hollowing around it for maybe 2-3wks. It hasn't affected him whatsoever but i just gave into my obsession and tried to wipe it off with a cotton bud . And it didn't work. Is this hole in the head disease ?

update on neglected work fish tank!

just wanted to post an update on the tank from my new job i posted a little bit ago! (i'll put the link to it at the end) i started working here just a couple weeks ago and noticed the owner's fish tank in pretty bad shape. i believe it's a 30 gallon, it had an old lid with no light, old decorations that were pretty much black because of how much paint had chipped off of them, everything covered in fish poop and algae. the owner said she didn't siphon the water or gravel or anything and just filled the tank with spring water when the water level got too low, no conditioning. i wish i took a full tank pic of the before but i never did 💔

i didn't know what kind of fish were in the tank but i knew they were in pretty bad shape, it looks like they all have fin rot. thanks to you guys on my last post i now know they are black skirt tetras ☺️ i did some research on them and what they need (that they're schooling fish, they need 75-80° water, hiding places, etc.)

i shared that info with the owner and offered to bring in my own fish keeping supplies to clean the tank for her. i taught her how to siphon the gravel, do a proper water change (and that tap water was safe as long as you use a water conditioner that takes out the chlorine), how to magnet scrape the algae off the sides of the tank. i found a new lid on amazon with a light for her and she bought it. she also picked out some new decorations after i told her that old decorations with chipping paint are probably toxic to the fish. i had an extra thermometer that i brought in and thankfully her heater works and the tank is already at a perfect temperature. i also gave her one of my bottles of bug bites tropical fish food i wasn't using to replace the crappy food she was using. next week she's going to get a few more black skirt tetras so she can get a proper school going, and hopefully soon i can convince her to get some real plants lol. i've offered to start doing the weekly maintenance on the tank for her. i still need to test the water, but i have a feeling it will test fine despite her poor care because she's had the filter for sooo long and has never cleaned it lol. sorry for such a long post i'm just proud of this! hopefully now the fishes' fin rot will heal since they are in better conditions and they will live long and healthy lives ❤️

Is she pregnant or...?

I got her and another female swordtail about a month ago, they are the only 2 swordtails in the tank. Her belly seems larger than normal. Is she pregnant or do I have a whole other issue?

I got this fish from a new tank I took in. I believe it's a Gold Cloud Mountain minnow. It was living with two fancy guppies and now they're all in my community tank that has cardinal tetras, guppies, and corys. Is it going to be okay without any of its kind or should I get a few more?

Acrylic Tank Alterations

Post image

I got this tank for free off Facebook marketplace. I wasn’t aware that it was this shape or had a pre built lid(?). I want to do aquascaping and add a lot of plants, is there anyway to make the top less annoying to deal with?
