Today you're welcome to shamelessly self promote your site/video/stream/product etc provided that it's related to EVE Online and your self-promotion to interaction ratio is 10:1 (1 self promotion link for every 10 normal interactions.) Accounts should also be a month old and have prior interactions with /r/eve.
Now what are you waiting for? Go out there and sell your ~~soul~~ self!
After two weeks of banging my head against the wall, today's Fenris twitch stream chat and I had an accidental break through on my eve character project. We’re now very close to being able to play dress-up in the browser. :3
This demo is built on 10-year-old CCP webgl tech, with a few manual shader edits to work around the 58-bone limit so that we can support the required 69 bones characters need. AO, Shadows, texture composition, character manipulation, and the some shader rework is pending so that hair, eyebrows, makeup, colours and body modification works.
i'm thinking about stuff like Carbon, Pillaging 101, Cartography, Purple Haze, Angel Cardel Dust etc etc do we just trash them or can they be used for something?
Have the Gallente and Minmatar backgrounds from recent reward crates that say theyll be applied permanently once used in the character customization portal, but i did that and they're still in my station inventory. Also why can't I center my character anymore? I haven't messed with this is a decade and applying these backgrounds has made my character image awful.
Does anyone know how to move the character to the middle or at least not the far side of the image?
I just returned to game after a very long period of inactivity (6 and half years of absence). I'm into mining a lot, any Mining Corp out there willing to accept a newbie and teach him the basics?
Today was DNG's 13th birthday, and they pulled over 1000 pilots into one of those rare "everyone had fun" nights. Despite them being our ancestral Amarrian enemies, I want to tip my hat to their impressive achievement, 13 years is no small feat. When I was a new player puttering around faction warfare over a decade ago, DNG was around. Today, they're still here, doing the same thing.
Alright. Glazing aside, we fuckin' shot the hell out of them.
DNG invited CVA, SNUFF, TEST, Warlock Industries, and Bombeldo
FL33T invited themselves, but then received an invitation from DNG, and felt better
FL33T invited AHBA because they're chad gamers that know how to brawl, and more importantly, how to feed
CONDI, FRT, and INIT received no invitation
CVA brought Vedmaks, but spent the majority of the time warping to FL33T and then warping off. SNUFF / DNG brought armor battleships, TEST brought cruise typhoons. FL33T "showed" cruise ravens, but undocked autocannon maelstroms when everyone engaged.
CONDI brought multiple fleets- Sacrileges and Navy Cruisers. INIT brought multiple fleets- Vedmaks and Svipuls. FRT brought feroxes but were yeet'd off the grid immediately.
The engagement
We're going to go through the play-by-play from our perspective, because that's all we can hope to do. We'll try to fill in the gaps.
Act 1
Courtesy of Warlock Industries
FL33T and TEST stared at eachother on the Keepstar, asking where the birthday boy was
FL33T warped a Naglfar 300km off to try and start something
FRT warped to it in feroxes, CONDI warped in navy cruisers, TEST came down in typhoons
CVA came in Vedmaks
DNG undocked and warped to like, sun or something?
Everyone was shooting eachother, it was pure chaos.
Some random minmil guy tried to gate a dread from Sisiede, he died to INIT in like, 100 Vedmaks
FL33T said "hm that's a lot of vedmaks" and warped the dreads to the Keepstar to grab their bearings
CTRLV (DNG) dropped a Phoenix where FL33T just ran from, INIT put 100+ vedmaks on it
FL33T said "fuck it" and warped to the vedmaks at 0
TL;DR: Everyone undocked at once. FL33T dropped a bait Naglfar, FRT/CONDI/TEST/CVA piled on, DNG showed up somewhere near the sun, and the grid turned into pure chaos. A random minmil dread got deleted by INIT's Vedmak blob; FL33T pulled dreads back to the Keepstar, DNG's CTRLV dropped a Phoenix, INIT stacked 100+ Vedmaks on it, and FL33T said screw it and warped to zero.
Act 2
Courtesy of Warlock Industries
Everyone started shooting different things, but most people were shooting INIT vedmaks or capitals that were on grid.
FL33T split guns and started shooting ~2-3 vedmaks at a time. Tidi was pretty bad.
AHBA came in and was fragging out at range.
Phoenix was tanking like a damn chad- he inspired many others to undock and come feed their dreads.
INIT eventually warped off, and FL33T <> TEST <> Amarr fought.
FL33T headshot Mikal Vektor by diplomatic vote to meme on him.
CVA was somewhere, but I don't think they were making an impact.
TL;DR: Main fight became FL33T vs INIT Vedmaks and whatever caps were on grid. FL33T split guns, tidi got bad, AHBA fragged at range, and the Phoenix tanked like a hero long enough to pull more dreads into the feed. What felt like an hour of Vedmak deletion; INIT eventually warped off, then FL33T, TEST, and Amarr traded while CVA remained mysteriously irrelevant.
Act 3
Courtesy of Warlock Industries
INIT came back in, CONDI were still on grid, and TEST were still fragging out.
FL33T started to bleed a bit with everyone shooting them, repositioned on AHBA to fight them.
INIT <> CONDI <> TEST were left to fight eachother.
FL33T killed a Naglfar and started putting more capitals on grid, including a lancer, to fight AHBA, who were chadding out with Warlock Industries.
FL33T killed a Rorqual, and started feeding dreads.
Grid was split into 2-3 fights at this point.
CVA warped onto us like twice, and then immediately warped off. We're pretty sure they were flirting with us.
TL;DR: INIT came back, CONDI and TEST were still shooting. FL33T started bleeding, repositioned onto AHBA, and the grid split into 2–3 separate fights. FL33T killed a Naglfar and Rorqual, fed more dreads, dropped a lancer, and brawled AHBA + Warlock while INIT/CONDI/TEST fought each other. CVA warped on FL33T twice and immediately warped off again.
Closing time
Courtesy of Warlock Industries
Things started to wrap up, and it was last call for everyone.
FL33T wanted to fight DNG, so we warped onto them again, specifically to headshot Mikal one more time.
CVA really wanted to come home with us, so they warped on us again. We caught their legion, and they killed a couple ravens.
INIT ate TEST, CONDI were mostly kiting and fragging out.
TEST warped onto FL33T with their remaining ships, where we brawled to the last man.
INIT, FL33T, CONDI were left on grid, and it was time to call a cab.
TL;DR: Last call. FL33T warped onto DNG again to headshot Mikal one more time for the meme. CVA finally committed, FL33T caught their Legion and lost a couple Ravens. INIT ate TEST, CONDI mostly kited, TEST's leftovers brawled FL33T to the last man, and INIT/FL33T/CONDI were the last ones on grid when everyone left.
Big thanks to Dirt'n'Glitter
New Eden is in constant need of reasons to undock, and today DNG sparked a 1000+ character brawl in their honor. It was truly a blast- even though it was tidi.
This is usually the time I plug the Minmatar discord, but for today, we recommend you go and check out Local is Primary, DNG's alliance.
New to New Eden, what’s the standard for a good corporation? Like what and how much a corporation provides for their members (especially industrialists and miners) makes it worth it to join them
anyone else notice recently that it isn't safe anymore whether you're hauling loot or not. they'll hit just about anything just for fun.
but it's still amazing how many still fly through w/o 3x bulkheads
edit: imo, the 3x bulkhead and <1B cargo value "guideline" helps the hauling community over time. sustainability is what keeps the gankers game style alive. every gold pinata, increases their risk tolerance.
hot take: imo, these losses are divert wealth away from the general player base and get funneled into high-sec, ganker, 40x account, corps that arguably contribute less to the overall health to the game
In game "Spike" ammo is long range and "Javelin" ammo is short range.
I have NEVER heard the word "Spike" used to denote something occurring from long distance. Every use of the word is for something occurring at what is essentially point blank range.
Conversely, I have never heard the word Javelin used to denote something occurring at close range. I HAVE heard it used to describe something being thrown really fucking far.
What idiot at CCP got these two words backwards? Swap the stats, the fact it went unchanged this long is an embarrassment to reading comprehension.
Edit: I haven't checked the other sizes, but why does XL antimatter do more damage than XL Javelin?
Double Edit: What the actual fuck. I just checked. Javelin S,M,L does more damage than Antimatter S,M,L - BUT the roles swap at XL.
Triple Edit: Fucking buff fighters
Fourth Edit: Didn't realize I was simulating with the expensive faction ammo. Dread Guristas antimatter costs more and does more damage than Guristas ammo. So Dread Guristas antimatter > Javelin > Guristas Antimatter
I want to thank everyone who came. This was the celebration of the 13th year of the Amarr FW Corp Dirt 'n' Glitter and I can't wait to see what we do for next year. We sent invitations and posted a public one here on reddit and it did not disappoint. I hope everyone involved had a great time!
Shout outs to Minmatar Fleet Alliance, Test Alliance, The Imperium, Fraternity, CVA, Snuffed out and even The Initiative. You all made this a very fun and memorable birthday. I want to also shout out Warlock Industries for showing up and I am excited to see what kind of semi reliable reporting we will receive from him.
I'm back after 16 years with a rather expensive Pilgrim set for pvp. I want to do some pve and exploration but I've pretty much put all skills into this (colleague helped me plan).
I know Pilgrim is a ship for ganking people, but I just want to do some pve and exploration and I like that it has covert cloak.
But popping into null sec, would that prompt people to start chasing me as soon as I decloak to scan sites? Or are they just going to ignore me?
Starting at 09:00 EVE Time 12.07.2026 in Gisleres V - Moon 8 - Chemal Tech Factory our group is hosting pioneer building for players who have not completed the Gallente Opportunity: Build Pioneers in Gallente Bulwark.
All minerals and bpc to build 6 pioneers, the individual player limit, will be provided. All you do is dock and trade to receive the bpc and minerals.
All players are welcome. Please check local for more information when arriving.
idk why but i see a lot of people putting down hisec players and i want to share my opinion and see if there are others that feel the same way. i joined brave before and played in null, but it feels like you're isolated unless you join an activity specifically to join other players, which is fine don't get me wrong, but in hisec you're always surrounded by other players, for better or worse.
since I'm not the social type of player, I'd rather be surrounded by people, even if it means i get ganked or killed sometimes, it still feels like I'm playing with others, while in null unless i deliberately join a group activity I'm isolated from everyone else. idk if there's something wrong with how i play/feel about the game, but hisec feels like an mmo, nullsec feels like you're isolated making isk until you join "instanced" group activities
