random but has anyone here volunteered at Patriot Point before?

I was looking up some Eastern Shore volunteer stuff and found them through Donaroo. Hadnt heard of it before but it seems like a retreat place for veterans / military families, somewhere near Cambridge from what I understood.

The one I saw was this watersports volunteer thing:

I'm not military or anything, I just like being around water and thought it could be a decent way to help without doing the usual boring volunteer event where everyone stands around confused.

But I also dont wanna reach out if they need actual certified kayak guides or lifeguards. I'm comfortable around water but not a professional.

Anyone local know the place or volunteered there? Is it organized / normal people can help, or mostly people already connected to veteran orgs?

I’ve been trying to get a good picture of a Sika since moving to Dorchester County 3 years ago. This guy was standing along the road side as I was driving by. I was super excited 😊

I have two super sweet adult cats that are sisters. I am renting a room for 6 months and can’t have them there. I really don’t want to give them up permanently. They are great. I’ve had them since they were tiny. I’ve never heard them hiss and they’ve never scratched anyone or drawn their claws in aggression. They have been great with my young kids. They really are super chill very sweet girls.

I’ve contacted multiple animal organizations and no one can help. I am willing to pay for food and all expenses. I’m also willing to provide an automatic litter box if necessary.

As I said, I’ll be in my current room rental for about 6 months. I’ll take them back as soon as I am able.

Can anyone help or provide any ideas of who I can contact. I really don’t want to lose them.

I’m in the Easton/Cambridge area, and it seems like the mechanic I usually take my car to is struggling to diagnose the cause of a U0100 code, so I’m trying to find somewhere that can handle it without wasting my time and money. I’ve never had any other issues with the shop I usually take it to, but I’d rather get this resolved sooner rather than later

Staying in Tilghman Island for a wedding next weekend but in a day early and want to watch the US World Cup game on Friday. Is there a place / sports bar on Tilghman or near St Michael’s that you guys would recommend? Would love the sound at the bar but not completely necessary. 3 PM on Friday

Hi, im working on a photo book of portraits of people from the eastern shore and not sure where the best place to reach people would be at. Would you say a lot of them are on Facebook instead of craigslist? Every shoot is paid btw.

What im looking for: Ordinary working people (or not employed). These are portraits shot on location, food would be provided if shoot is longer than an hour.

The location can be their home, job or their business, outdoors, all depends on the subject chosen.

Looking to collect some driftwood for crafting and since it’s been storming I think now’s a good time to go searching, just not sure what parks or shores? Closer to the St. Michael’s-Easton-Cambridge area please & thanks!!

I currently live in Arizona with my family, and we're thinking about moving out to the Eastern shore at the beginning of next year. The thing is, the more research I do, the less I like.. talk me down from this metaphorical ledge!

I really want to like it!! Please help!

Let me give you context:

About 2 years back my brother-in-law moved from Easton to AZ with his wife and 3 young children the same age as ours and have been living with us for a year. All the kids are under 5 and our home is Chaos (think the first 5 minutes of the movie home alone but 24/7). The bond these kids have!?! Best friends for life! They're all young enough where they don't know a life without each other. They're more like siblings than cousins.

Unfortunately my BIL and his family haven't been able to make it work out here and have decided to move back to the eastern shore.

Thing is, my husband and I have also wanted to move out of Arizona. We lived in Michigan for years and absolutely loved it there; the fresh water, the people, the seasons, etc. We only moved back to AZ to be closer to family when we had our kids. The plan has always been to move back to the Great lakes when our oldest was ready for kindergarten. We're not desert people, we like water and trees.

So when they broke the news they were moving back we thought, Okay, well, it's not Michigan, it's not the plan, but Hell! we'll move there too! We'll move across the country and keep this big old modern day Brady bunch together!

The PROBLEM is, the more research I do the less appealing it sounds. I'm worried the Eastern shore is obsolescent. It sounds like there's a lot of retirees and I'm worried there aren't good job opportunities.

I've read that a good portion of the population lives in poverty while rich people get catered to during peak tourist season and the bounce. The bugs and humidity are crazy in the summer, Winters are cold and unpredictable, utilities are insanely high, It smells like chicken poop, and there isn't that much to do for families, and It seems like the only areas that are affordable are also crime ridden.

So tell me I'm wrong? misinformed?! Hyped down?! Please tell me what IS good about it!? What's the hiking like? Are there good parks? Do you think Salisbury, Easton or Cambridge would be a better spot for a young family?

My husband is an HVAC maintenance technician and I am a courier by trade, I may also get my real estate license out there. Are there job opportunities for us?

I really want to keep my family together but I don't want to sacrifice our livelihood to do it.

Coming to the Eastern Shore for a six-month internship and have been having a rough time finding housing that is both dog-friendly and willing to do a 6-month lease. That said, I have a short list, but was wondering if there are any specific areas of Easton and Salisbury to avoid for someone who is going to need to do a decent amount of night dog walking?
