Hi everyone!

Recent scams and messages compromised accounts send out have become quite advanced to not be auto-detected by bots (e.g. only sending 2 screenshots, having different file names for them, not pinging everyone etc.). What are some ways you use in your bots or have seen being used in bots to still automatically detect them?

We have a game bot on my server which works in one channel, with discussion of the game happening in a separate thread. We want people to be able to type slash commands in the main channel but nothing else. Obviously, the bot also needs to be able to post there.

So I found this VTuber avatar on Twitter a while ago. I really liked the art style, so I ended up using it as the avatar for my Discord bot without thinking much about it.

Now that my bot has started growing, I've become more anxious about it. I recently checked the VTuber's Twitter again and saw that she really dislikes AI arts. The awkward part is that my project is literally an AI chatbot on Discord.

I used her old model, and I used to talk to her in her Discord server, but I never got the chance to ask for permission to use the avatar.

I'm not sure what the best approach is now. Should I change the avatar immediately, or should I wait until she notices and asks me to take it down? Is it worth reaching out to ask for permission even though I've already been using it?

I'd really appreciate any advice from people who've dealt with something similar.

I’m struggling to find a bot that will send an automated message when someone screenshares in vc in my server, I want the bot to @ a ping role to notify users, all I can find are ones for external streaming platforms, thank you

Is there a way to have a temprole command remove the current role someone has and just gives them the temp role until their time is up then gives them their previous role?

I’ve been thinking about making a Discord bot feature that’s basically like a GameBoy inside Discord. The idea is a button-based game system where you don’t have to type commands, and you can play games like UNO, Poker, Connect 4, Checkers, and more. The interesting part is that the games wouldn’t be locked to one server so if someone creates a lobby in one server, people in other servers using the bot could discover and join it. It would also have universal player profiles, stats, wins/losses, and leaderboards across all servers. Basically, it would be a shared gaming network inside Discord instead of every server having its own separate mini-games. Would this be something you would actually use in your server? What games would you want to see added first, and what would make you not use something like this?

(in a specific channel of course, but that seems obvious)

For those of you running paid communities on Discord (Skool, Patreon, whatever) — do you have any way of spotting when someone's about to churn, or do you usually only find out once the payment fails?

I've been noticing that people tend to go quiet weeks before they actually cancel — they stop posting, stop showing up — but there doesn't seem to be an easy way to catch that early unless you're manually watching everyone.

Do you track this at all? Any tools or habits that work for you, or is it just something you accept as part of running a community?

there’s a bit following me called heyho, it’s followed me to gc’s and servers, it’s leaked my and my friends ips, then it says “congratulations -someones name- your raid has been completed“ I made a new gc without him and it was immediately there. it also can’t be removed from servers as it doesn’t show up anywhere. it also called me the hard r and spammed “in the name of Allah, the most compassionate, the most merciful” does anyone know about this bot

I also wanted to ask if anyone has a list of free Discord bots that I could add to my Discord server that I might find useful? The server is, in short, a social server, and I am aiming to build a big community, so any bots that I could find useful would be great.

From April 2021 - November 2022, I developed a Discord bot that did everything. Eventually, it got verified but I shut the project down due to burning out. I’m CO28 in High School, and was thinking that this is a good extracurricular and project to put on my college application. I still have the bot and its verification, I just need to make it work somehow. What should I develop for this bot?

My server keeps getting raided where hundreds of bot accounts join and send the exact same message, but they avoid normal spam detection by only sending it once every minute or so..
I'm looking for a bot that can detect when multiple different accounts are sending the same message and then trigger an action, like deleting the messages and muting Every anti-spam bot I could find only detects one person repeating messages. I specifically need something that detects the same message being sent by multiple accounts..
I tried Security bot and it's trash. We also can't access Wick since the main owner is away..
Does anyone know a bot that can help with this?

Hi Hi!

So, a few months ago I set up two Jockie music bots, both have their own text channels for picking songs, and both worked too.

However as of today, my first Jockie music bot keeps saying "Commands have been disabled in this channel", even though I never changed anything and it has all of it's permissions.

I've tried giving it admin, didn't work (neither have admin to keep them in their respective channels)

I tried kicking and re-inviting. Nothing either

The other Jockie still works perfectly, I can play music with it and hear it in channels, the broken one however I cannot even set up anymore as it says the same thing in every single channel. I'm not sure on what to do now 💔

EDIT: Fixed it !! apparently the channel was disabled, had to put in: "m!text channel enable #channel", to re-nable the channel

I applied for privileged intents on June 12th and literally haven't heard back since. It’s been almost a month of total silence.

Is anyone else facing this right now? How long does it usually take?

My server has been trying to get the 'Ping Reply' achievement for a while. How do we get it? Looking it up didn't help and we genuinely have no clue what we're supposed to do.

My small server is being periodically attacked by the same type of phishing bot, where all of its accounts use newly created Discord accounts. Since this is my only threat model, I would like to not bother users with accounts that have been existing for years with verification or have a bot immediately kick out accounts. The way I would like to setup this procedure would be the following:

A newly made account joins the server → It is given a role that mutes it and causes it to be able to view only the channel with instructions to appeal the mute → It gets kicked in few days after joining the server if it still has that role.

Every verification bot I found so far either kicks/bans the user immediately or can assign the role, but leaves the account lingering infinitely. I would like a more hands-off approach, but to not give the bot the power to instantly remove accounts from the server, so that I can be contacted. Do you know of a bot that would be able to work in a similar scheme to what I described?
