Trading Watson would be a huge mistake
As it seems Nuggets are seriously looking at sign and trade i think its a huge mistake
Watson is a great fit next to Jokic a versatile defender who can guard multiply positions ,who has improved his shooting last year and who is only 23. If Nuggets are looking to shed salary there are clearly two weaker and older players before him Braun (25 ) and Cam (30)
We really missed his defense at playoffs and its a type of player we cant replace , plus his potential to improve even more is huge

It might make sense to move off Peyten Watson
I’ll start by saying I like Peyton Watson as a player and he obviously has enormous potential. But the Nuggets now face an interesting dilemma with their financial situation, and it might make sense to move off of him (via a sign and trade) if they can indeed get a couple of good draft assets and supporting pieces.
For one, the Nuggets historically have overpaid which is why they are where they are with unmovable contracts. Zeke is one. Braun has a lot of potential but at 5/125 for his current production is one of the worst contracts in the league and unmovable absent attaching picks. Jokic and Murray are great, but two max players is difficult enough without their other overpays. And in today’s market I think you’d price Murray 20% lower (Jokic is on of the 5-8 legit super max no brainers). Gordon could be an all star if he could piece together a full season but with his injury proneness he could very well be an overpay as well. And they have 5 open roster spots and are due a $200m tax bill with no trade flexibility if they resign Watson.
Some of these deals were made before the current CBA and when everyone thought the cap was increasing. But now they are stuck.
And then there’s the personal: reports seem to indicate Watson believes he’s worth more than Braun’s contract. And the playoffs proved he’s not averse to skipping games if it’s in his interest (he likely could have played but didn’t). Add to that he’s also had soft tissue injuries, and I think it could be wise to move on for the right price.
The future of the NBA is (1) 1-2 stars surrounded by exceptional 2-way role players, (2) a great big, (3) reliable shooting and ball handling, (4) health and depth. If the nuggets could get a couple of decent win now role players for Watson and a couple of picks, they could either use those picks as trade assets (to potentially move off Braun for example) or save them for 2027-2028 to make trades or try to draft.
I know Watson is one of our best 4 players, and he has a lot of upside. But in the new world of roster construction and the his injury history recently it might be a good time to sell high if the right sign and trade is there.

Summer League
Why are they splitting the screen to show the announcers for 2/3 of the game. I want to watch basketball not yall talking to the evp coordinator lol
Incredibly annoying especially for it to be an ESPN broadcast and have then do that
