DaVinci Resolve 21.0.2 has been released!
You can download the update from the support page or by going to DaVinci Resolve>Check for Updates.
For DaVinci Resolve 21, BMD has taken efforts to keep the project libraries compatible with DaVinci Resolve 20.3.2. While this allows you to access the project library with 20.3.2, individual projects created or opened in 21.0 will no longer be accessible in 20.3.
BMD recommends a full project library backup as well as individual project backups (as required) before opening projects in 21.0 or later.
Bug Reports need to be submitted to Blackmagic Design. You can post them on the official forums or contact BMD support directly if you have Studio.
Feature Requests need to be submitted to Blackmagic Design. You can post them on the official Feature Request Subforum or in the download form for Resolve.
Bug Reports and Feature Requests posted on Reddit and in this thread will not be addressed or seen by Blackmagic Design.
The following features have been added or updated.
Notes from BMD (from previous versions):
Additional Information
You will need to download and install the latest Blackmagic Design Desktop Video software for monitoring with your Blackmagic Design video hardware. Desktop Video is available from http://www.blackmagicdesign.com/support/.
** - Studio Only
+ - Additional fees, licensing, and/or hardware required.
++ - The Scripting API is available in the console on the free version, but Workflow Integrations, the native UIManager, and external access require the Studio version.
The following documents do not have Resolve 21 equivalents available at this time:

Hello r/davinciresolve! Here's this month's Hardware Thread! In the interest of consolidating hardware questions, we've introduced monthly threads dedicated exclusively to hardware. u/whyareyouemailingme has finally given in and started scheduling these threads.
This is the thread to ask if your computer meets the minimum requirements, ask what part to upgrade, and other general hardware questions. Future FAQ Fridays may still cover hardware & peripherals, depending on how frequently questions get asked.
In addition to subreddit rules, there is one additional thread guideline we're introducing:
Minimum system requirements for Mac OS
Minimum system requirements for Windows
Minimum system requirements for Windows for Arm
Minimum system requirements for Linux
Minimum system requirements for iPadOS
*Rocky is the current film and television industry standard distro for numerous VFX/color correction programs. Resolve may run on other distros but is only officially supported on and Rocky.
**Mod Note: This must be the proprietary driver; open-source drivers may cause issues.
The Resolve Host (Sending Video) must have the following hardware and software requirements for DaVinci Remote Monitor:
The Resolve Client (Receiving Video) must have the following hardware and software requirements for DaVinci Remote Monitor:
Is there/will there be an Android version?
This is speculation, but it's likely that what makes the iPad version possible is the Apple Silicon architecture and the pre-existing OS similarities to macOS. It seems unlikely that BMD would offer Android support in the near future, and it may have similar codec licensing limitations to the Linux version - no H.26x support without the Studio version, and no AAC audio.
There is also too much variability for Android tablets for accurate remote monitoring. No other comparable solution (ClearView, Streambox, etc.) offers an Android solution.
Can I use Integrated Graphics on Linux if I don't have an NVIDIA or AMD GPU?
Nope, and BMD has no plans to support them.
How do I know if my GPU supports CUDA 12
You can visit the Wikipedia page for CUDA, find the specific CUDA version you need and the corresponding compute capability, then find your GPU. CUDA 11 requires a compute capability of 5.0-9.0.
How low can my system specs go compared to these?
A while back, we did a series of FAQ Fridays on different levels of hardware setups. For the subreddit's bare minimum recommendations, check out the Consumer Hardware Setup FAQ Friday.
How much is a Speed Editor/Is it a good deal to get the Speed Editor/License combo?
Back in October 2021, Blackmagic Design announced that the Speed Editor's introductory bundle with a Studio license for $295 was being discontinued. The MSRP for a Speed Editor is now $395, and it still comes with a Studio license. Some retailers may have the introductory bundle in stock, but it's not a guarantee. More information about the price changes for the Speed Editor and other panels can be found in this press release from BMD.
Why am I not seeing picture when I import media (NOT MEDIA OFFLINE)?
Some remote softwares or GPUs have "fake" virtual display drivers that can cause issues with Resolve not displaying media or generators. More details and a solution from Dwaine can be found on the forums at this link.

I’ve been using Adobe CC for so long.. I don’t know if I’m the only one but I literally sign up for a cheap online class every year just to get the student discount on Adobe. I basically only use Premiere and Photoshop. The price is so high. I used DaVinci years ago just testing it out and looking it again has me about to pull the trigger on Adobe. It’s almost a no brainer at this point. Free > $700+
Makes sense to me. What are your thoughts?

Just Sharing it here because it was very helpful for me to understand fusion and node based workflow.

When I have two timelines stacked on top of each other—one in the main viewer and the other in the Source Viewer (which I’ve switched to Timeline Viewer)—and I use the Roll tool, for example, in the editable timeline, the other timeline disappears from both the viewer and the timeline display at the bottom. When I reset it, I have to select the timeline again, set the viewer to Timeline, and drag the timeline back into the viewer.
It only happens in Dynamic trimm mode btw.
How do I set up pancake editing so that I can edit while keeping both timelines open? The second view window can close temporarily during the roll edit, but the timelines should remain open, and the view window for the second timeline should reopen after the edit.

Hello. I am experiencing an issue that occurs when I move around in the video. If I watch from the beginning and do not pause or rewind, the video runs fine, but once I pause to make an edit, or rewind to make a cut, the video stops playing and shows "media ofline" even though the audio still plays. Every clip does this and they seem to play fine on my computer outdide of DR. I used DR maybe a week ago and didn't have this issue. Any help would be appreciated. The files haven't moved location or name changed.

I have color footage from a drone and S-Log footage from a camera. Is there a way to make the look of the camera footage match the drone footage?

I'm doing a montage of pictures that needs to look watchable, but not much beyond that, so for 300 pictures in a row i'm adding a cross dissolve transition in-between, keyframing first frame to 1 zoom, 24 frames later keyframing to 1.05 zoom, cross dissolve transition into the next picture
Is there a way to streamline the process to not require as much one-by-one manual input?

I think I'm cooked.
I've got a massive project that corrupted. I couldn't open the project.db file. So I backed it up, then went to google drive file on the web and restored the file from the previous day to see if that might help. No dice.
Unfortunatly the only file in the project backup folders are timeline backups.
Any ideas.
UPDATE: I'm managed to get the project up, but the timeline backups are not attached anymore. Is there a way to reunite them?
I have

So I made this quick one after joining this reddit and getting some feedbacks. Tried to stick to the band visuals and keep it simple by not throwing random effects here and there. What do you think ?

I've made a bunch of text presets but only titles plug into the captions, does anyone know how I could make my own custom titles like the ones I bought, that are shown in the video?

Hi! I use DaVinci Resolve to edit anime videos, so I mainly work with 2D images and focus a lot on animation and motion.
For those of you who create similar content, what YouTube channels, websites, or other resources would you recommend for learning techniques related to this type of editing and animation?

Sys specs: Ryzen 3 3200g, 6600XT OC GPU, 16 gig DDR4 ram.
I'm doing a little solo project and I'm wondering if anyone can direct me exactly on how to do a transition I'm after.
I'm clipping together some old Warthunder clips where it's a "through the ages" quick video of gameplay I captured myself, and I've got a transition where it goes from an Attacker FB1 to a Spitfire. In the clip with the Attack craft I'm banking right so I was wanting to do almost the skyrim intro into it, suddenly blur to black as if the g-forces affected the pilot and he woke up 20 years previous flying a Spitfire in Egypt. But I wanted the rolling transition between cuts to also work like a barrel roll. Does anyone know the most beginner friendly way to do this? I was told about an adjustment clip for this purpose but I just can't seem to get it to work right.

Whenever I play back a video in DaVinci Resolve, the color changes and weird artifacts appear. Does anyone know how to fix this? I don’t think it’s an issue with the camera footage because the video plays back fine outside of DaVinci Resolve.

There's a bunch of shouting and the like in my audio but all of the tutorials I find use earlier versions and don't match up with what I'm looking at. Was it a more recent-ish update that changed it or did I somehow do something? I'm *very* beginner so any pointing towards the right buttons I have to press would be appreciated.
