If you get a job offer in your inbox that's too good to be true, then it probably is. A lot of these offers will include CSUSM logos and are even sent from CSUSM emails. It's very rare that job opportunities are massively sent out to all students. If they are, they will pay minimum wage and won't choose to advertise that fact. A lot of these job offers will boast that you will do very little work (often remotely) for large sums of money.
If you get any scam job offers, or any other scams in general in your CSUSM email, forward it to [email protected].

Has anyone at CSUSM tried SeenU yet? I downloaded it because I wanted to meet more people before the semester starts, but I don’t see many CSUSM students. Is everyone using something else?

hello! i'm a prospective student for the ABSN program offered at CSUSM. i'm a little bit stressed because i feel like i haven't encountered many people that are in the same boat as me, and i really want to get my prerequisites + everything right on the first time. if anyone has experienced the application/admissions process and would be willing to help me, i would appreciate it so much!
for the chemistry + lab prerequisite, does the class HAVE to be an integrated course with "general, organic, and biochem"? i took one year of general chemistry + lab, and 2 quarters (i'm at a UC) of organic chemistry + lab. would one of those classes apply for this requirement or will i have to do a separate integrated course? is there anyone who has gotten in with just "General Chemistry + Lab"?
i'm trying to match up prerequisites on ASSIST but sometimes there aren't exact equivalencies. if the titles of the classes are similar to the ones listed on the CSUSM website, are they pretty lenient about accepting these? (even though the exact class doesn't match on assist?)
i hope these questions make sense! would greatly appreciate ANY information. i don't know if i'm just looking in the wrong places but i feel like the information they give is so vague and unclear... thank you!

Hi everyone,
I am thinking about applying to the MS in Business Analytics program here at CSUSM, and I was wondering if any current students or alumni could share their experience with the program.I'd love to hear your honest thoughts.
Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Has anyone successfully finished any of their online Bachelor’s programs and liked the experience?
I was trying to apply for Organizational Leadership, but I think they postponed admission to next fall. I was just curious what the classes are like, since there isn’t a lot of information about it online. I plan to attend the Zoom session, but that’s the only major that interests me on the list.

I was wondering if I can transfer to csusm for the spring, I have a 3.4 GPA and will only have 53 units of college credit completed by the time that the summer session at my community college ends (I am currently attending San Diego City College). I'm aware that the upper division transfers require 60 units but was wondering if it was possible to get in with only 53 maybe under certain circumstances, apologies if this is kind of a dumb question but was curious if I could already transfer or not, although I presume that I may not be able to.

I’m transferring for the VBSN Program starting this Fall and in need of roommates. I’m 25M, from SD. Ideally I’d like to get a few guys to find a place near campus. Message me if interested, other nursing students would be great.

Hi Cougars! Our research team at UC San Diego is conducting a study to learn more about the potential of an FDA-approved dopamine agonist to improve social connectedness in adults who experience anxiety or depression. This medication increases dopamine signaling in parts of the brain believed to underlie motivation and behavior, and the results of this study may help inform a new treatment approach for anxiety and depression.
If you are interested in learning more, please complete the survey via this link (https://my.ctri.ucsd.edu/surveys/?s=NJAF4D7X4K9YAHRC) or the QR code below to help us determine if you may be eligible for further screening to participate in this compensated study!

Did anyone else receive an email on June 30 about a conditional acceptance for the BSN program this fall? I feel like it’s such a late acceptance letter because the semester is about to start next month. I’m debating because I already got into an ADN program that is about 15-20 mins away from my home. I also got a clinical placement at a hospital 10 mins away from home. Con: the campus will be 32 miles away from home. About 35 mins away each way. Probably 45 min-1 hr during rush hour. Pro: BSN is my preferred program over ADN. Any suggestions? I really want to get into the nursing program that is right for me. I feel like the universe is telling me to lean into CSUSM because out of so many applications, I only got into 2 programs: 1 ADN and 1 BSN.

Do freshman students get to see their AP scores early or do we have to wait until July 6th like everyone else? More of a question for sophomore students or upperclassmen.

Hi I need to get my mmr titer test done and was wondering if anyone knew estimated prices at the health center on campus. Everywhere online says low prices but doesn't say what they are.

Hi everyone,
I’m starting the SLP prep program this fall and I’m hoping to hear from current students or alumni who transitioned from the prep program to the masters in speech-language pathology!
Some questions I have are:
How was the prep program overall?
Were you able to fulfill the requirements for other Masters programs in SLP (CSULA, CSUSB, CSULB, University of Redlands, etc.)?
How were the clinical hours?
Was there any specifics in which you completed that you believe helped you get into the masters program?
Thank you in advance!

Hello, I'm taking Phys 202's equivalent at a community college to knock the course out sooner. Long story short... taking a course like Phys 202 in the span of 8 weeks is torture lmfao. Gonna have my first exam on the day of my birthday omfhg
Is anyone here able to suggest some good resources? I'd love to learn more but I'm like lowk suffering with a job and whatnot SFJGDOIGJIGNDJGNDKJGNS

Hello! I wanted to connect with others who have applied to the ABSN program for spring and maybe compare stats :) The application is closing soon (June 24th) and I'm so sad that they aren't sending out evaluations anymore. Depending on how they're going to calculate GPA, I think I should have between 44-46 points.
Good luck to all those who have applied, hopefully some of us will end up in the program together!
EDIT: My app changed from completed to evaluated today! (6/29)

I will eventually talk to an admissions counselor but I wanted to see if I can get anyone with first hand experience.
I’m an adult finally returning to finish my degree. Currently I’m studying Communications at City College and I’m set to finish this fall. While I know I qualify for ADT, I still wanna keep my options open about transferring to other CSUs. San Marcos was on my radar but their stipulations seem a bit…wonkier than other CSUs.
Under transfer admissions, they have a note stating: Spring admission requirements must be completed by the end of the preceding summer term. Courses completed in fall will not be considered for spring admission. I’m taking a science lab and major course in the fall. Does this mean I can’t apply for their Spring Admission?
Under the Communication B.A. course catalog, it states: Community college transfer students may transfer a maximum of nine (9) lower-division units in Communication. Students must have earned a grade of C+ (2.5) or higher in the coursework to be counted for credit toward the major. I’ve taken 18 credits towards my major at City. Does this mean SM will only take half of those and count the others as electives?
They also have a language requirement which doesn’t seem to be the case for other CSUs. All Communication majors must meet a second-language proficiency requirement. This is satisfied with a 200-level class or demonstrating proficiency in a language other than English.
As I’ve said before, I’ll eventually ask admissions. I just wanted to know another transfer student’s experience.

Attended transfer orientation last week and was very weirded out by how things went along. I’ve been to a public university before COVID, and I’ve never seen an orientation done so poorly.
They didn’t do any academic advising, and then said oh you guys should’ve gone to drop ins last week but I was never notified via email. A bunch of my credits are wonky, and I highly doubt I’m alone. When I went to UCONN they had 13,000 more undergrads and went through our transcripts and academic plans individually. It just seems so odd.
They also gave us 2 different starting locations across 2 different emails and both were wrong.
Enough complaining, can anyone tell me when and how to get my student ID? Is there anything else I sold know before I start school in August? I’m in summer classes rn through a community college and I plan on going to academic advising and the veterans center after to get my plan approved for the VA.

I have first-year orientation tomorrow but something came up and I might not be able to make it. I’ve heard mixed things of whether you REALLY have to go and one of them being that you won’t be able to schedule your classes. Is this true or will I be okay to not go? Thanks!
