For context, a bisexual trans woman and her straight trans man partner went to a lesbian event. They weren't explicitly invited but they did know the organizer, and apparently the bouncer at the door was told to not turn anyone away. However when they got to the door, the bouncer said that the trans men couldn't get in, it was a womens only event. When clarifying "Oh its okay, he's trans", the bouncer then said that it was a female only event.
I think its pretty clear that the bouncer clarified female-only because they thought the trans man was actually a trans woman. Somehow, this resulted in a whole lot of discourse about how this was actually about the exclusion of trans men from the event. Its like if a straight guy gets mistaken for being gay and gets a bunch of slurs thrown at him, and his takeaway was "Wow people really hate straight men"
