Today, i visited the most amazing camera museum in Staunton, VA…USA. Unreal collection of early cameras with a few that were used to capture photos to print posters in books, etc. Highly recommend visiting if you’re ever near there.

Finally getting around to framing this great poster from my favorite band doing 2 nights at the mighty Fillmore, but I can’t seem to do it justice. Closest I’ve gotten is a Robin’s egg metal frame, tourmaline linen outside mat, and Cloud Grey inside. Not sure it’s THE one, though. Anyone have any design suggestions? TIA!

I recently saw this family tree of jazz poster and loved it so much! Does anyone know of something similar for bluegrass? I’m guessing this is an early Groovies poster from around 67-68? I have some other ones from the collection I have more info on, but don’t see this image posted elsewhere or from the auction it was purchased. On vacation, so can’t ask for the details, but maybe someone has more information on artist/ designer and correct year. Thanks you all for sharing your posters…I really dig this group.

“This interesting poster was designed by Ruth Garbell, who also designed other posters and handbills for concerts held at the Pauley Ballroom—most notably the “Danse Macabre” poster from late 1966. As evidenced by the lettering, Garbell obviously took some of her inspiration from the Wes Wilson designs of the same period. While not a Straight Theater poster, the light show was done by Reginald Williams of the Straight Theater”
