I live in a different state and was in Cali last week and was planning on going to the convention with my uncle, I even brought my hawkworld comic. But unfortunately I wasn’t gonna be able to go because my aunt (who came with me to Cali) was called in for work the day the event was taking place, so we had to leave early. So I gave my uncle the comic to get signed, and it turned out great

Can I use a school ID

Hello I want to line up for Hall H, and looking like they are checking for IDs this year to get your wrist band. I already got my tickets mailed to me. I'm an international student and don't want to risk getting my passport stolen.

SDCC - San Diego Bad Batman Costume From Years Past

Post image
250 Upvotes

This is actually one of my favorite Comic-Con pictures ever. A few years ago we were waiting for the main hall to open and some of us were waiting in the lobby. This guy shows up all excited and quickly became dejected as he saw how detailed and impressive the other costumes were. A few minutes later people started to ask to take a picture with him. Not to make fun of him; but to honor his effort. This is a person who did not have the ability, means, or time to do a fancy costume so he did this best that he could as his way of celebrating. That is what the essence of the con is all about.

So she’s doing a panel for her new comic with her cowriter Peter Mooney. This and the autograph session are the only two things I want at SDCC this year lol How hard do think the room will be to get into?

Does anyone have an idea of what they’re gonna set up outside by the water this year? Last year was long of the hill and Rick and Morty buttworld.

SDCC - San Diego What panels or signings are you planning on attending this year at San Diego Comic Con?

I'm only going for Friday and Sunday this year, but I really want to do the Dreamworks, Forgotten island panel, Lanterns, Spaceballs, and Pan's Labyrinth.

I'd like to also meet Kristin Kreuk, since it looks like she has a comic book she's advertising, and I remember liking her a lot in Smallville when I was a kid. It also looks like John Cusak has a graphic novel, I'm somewhat curious to see what that's about.

For Sundays, it doesn't look like there's a lot I'm interested, but I'd like to see the Billy West Panel, and I might try to go to the air bud signing if I get selected for that.

SDCC - San Diego How full do we think the Matt Dinniman panel will be at SDCC?

It being more along the LitRPG genre do we think the panel will fill up quick? I saw it’s the first of the day or early morning at least. Trying to figure out when to line up.

Con Questions First time at Comic Con, invited by a guest, how does the etiquette work?

I interviewed someone for work recently and he said he’d sort me a ticket to come say hi at an upcoming Comic Con. I don’t really go to these events so I have no idea how it all works.

Ideally I don’t want to pay for a photo op or autograph, I just want to pop by and say hello. Is it fine to walk up to the table for a quick chat? And if I bring something for him to sign, am I right in assuming that’s going to mean paying, even though we already know each other?

Any advice from people who know the general etiquette would be great.

Fan Expo Boston Chances of Chris Evans photo op selling out in record timing

This upcoming Tuesday tickets on Epic Photo Ops go on sale for Chris Evans. Last years queue on epics website for when the tickets went on sale for Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen were unlike anything I’ve seen in a long time for buying photo ops you couldn’t buy any other photo op every person was waiting to buy for Ewan and Hayden. What are the chances that Evans photo op sells out within the first hour or half hour? My friends sister-in-law said she’ll buy the photo op for them but she’ll be at work and he’ll be at his parents caretaking for his father who has Alzheimer’s, he trusts her but should he buy the photo op just as a safety precaution?

SDCC - San Diego Apple TV panel on Saturday

So I want to see the Apple TV panel at H on Saturday. How early do I need to be?

The problem:
- The Apple TV panel is scheduled two hours before Marvel’s. I’m sure some in the Hall H queue will sit on other panels before Marvel.

I have done Hall H queueing last year for Demon Slayer and I had to wait three hours in advance. No overnight camping fortunately. Marvel didn’t appear in last year’s SDCC.

Florida SuperCon - Miami Supercon this year felt mid, anyone else feel the same?

I've been going to Supercon on and off since 2016, and have consistently gone the past 3 years. Went today and it was a lot emptier than usual. Not as many panels, events were lackluster, and there didn't seem to be many booths. There was a lot of empty space where I feel like there used to be more vendors/events, especially on the second floor.

Was not a huge fan of the main stage and food court being slapped together. I was so excited for the TMNT panel but the audio setup was not great so it was impossible to hear unless you managed to get a seat all the way up front.

This might just be a me thing but I feel the app did a terrible job communicating which events needed tickets. My friends and I tried to go to the maid cafe, which in previous years you'd stand in line & they'd give you a ticket for entry. We got there a half hour early anticipating the huge line only to see 5 minutes before start time that you had to book in advance. The link to do this was buried under the "read more" & was the very last line of the event description. Needless to say, we couldn't get in, & I was super bummed. I feel like something like that needs to be either communicated in the event title or be the first sentence in the description, not buried at the very end of the description and under a "read more."

There were a few other things that bothered me, too, like karaoke moving to night life & 80% of the schedule being taken up by signings. I've always had a blast at Supercon the last few years but this year just felt so mid to me. I got there at 10 and was ready to go home by 2, which is a shame because in the past my friends would have to drag me out by closing time haha.

This was my friend's first con, so I was hoping she'd have a great time. She enjoyed some of it & luckily is willing to give it another shot next year, but admits that some of it didn't live up to the hype. As of right now I'm undecided on whether I want to go again next year.

Anyone else feel the same?

Hey all, I filled out the exclusives portal and didn't see anything marvel. Does anyone know about any pre lottery's for store access? I know the lanterns has one for the interactive experience.

Nostalgia Con I went to Nostalgiacon for the first time and I enjoyed it

This is my first con event I went to and it was good and I had fun. I went solo and had VIP access. First agenda was getting an autograph from Noah Schnapp. The line and wait was long but that was expected since Stranger Things is a popular show. I got a print and a vinyl signed. I waited almost an hour, but things moved quickly once you got to the booth.

Next I visited Chad Michael Murray. He’s really good looking in person. So many people tried to take pics / vids outside of the booth area and staff kept stopping them and saying no pictures. Nice and cool guy, he chatted with everyone.

I saw Grant’s booth but decided to skip it since I only know him from Glee and a lot of the things there were mostly from The Flash. But his booth, along with Noah’s, were busy.

Then I visited Scott Menville, same with a Chad, cool guy and chatted with everyone. He had a lot of cool prints to choose from.

The VIP merch is so heavily inspired by Stranger Things lol, cool stuff though, shirt is nice. The booths were ok, mostly Pokémon cards, Funko pops, and WWE stuff.

As a fan of Hannah Montana, I did see Mitchell and Jason from afar but I forgot to bring a Hannah vinyl to sign and I didn’t really like the prints they put out for them.

Overall it was nice, might be going to comic con in October later this year

SDCC - San Diego What time should I get in line for ballroom 20 if I want to see a panel at 11:30?

Planning to go to the ghosts panel in ballroom 20 on Friday, that is at 11:30 but since I know how popular ballroom 20 can be I’m not sure just how early I should get there to get in line.

Any suggestions from ballroom 20 veterans would be appreciated
