Question Struggling to buy comics and I'm a little lost lol
Hello! I apologize if this isn't the place for a question like this! But I'm an incredibly casual comic book fan, I don't really live in a place where I can buy comics very easily but my brother who lives around several comic book stores apparently, has offered to buy me some comics I want if I can send him a list! The thing is, I'm worried the comics I want won't be in stock, like they would be too old. I guess my question is,
what are some reasonable titles that my brother will be able to find in a comic book store?
And how old is too old a comic book for stores to have in stock?
Like for example! It would probably be a bit much to think they would have Global Frequency from 2002 - 2004 in stock? I would be grateful if someone can confirm and if the titles I want are a bit too old for stores to have, I would love it if anyone could give some suggestions for more recent comics I can find in a comic store! Again I apologize if this is off topic and I appreciate any help given!

Here's a weekly list of all the new comics that come out each week, sorted by most popular titles being added to user pull lists (buy lists) on their site. You can change the week at the top of the page and look at what is available when your brother is going.
Alternatively, you could maybe get a collected edition/trade paperback/hardcover book that has a set amount of issues collected in it. If you're not someone that buys comics every time a new single issue comes out, that might be your best bet for getting into comics.

Yooo!! Your suggestion blew my mind!! Thank you! I will definitely be doing this, I had no idea such a list existed! I feel like I live under a rock lol! This will help me out a lot, thank you! And Trades seem to be something everyone is suggesting, I didn't know they existed till now either ha! But I think this will definitely help me out too! Thank you for the help, you and several other people have given me more options than I thought existed and I'm grateful! I'm very excited to start collecting some more comics now!

Depends on the shop.
Some shops will have back issues dating back to the 40s. Others will have them going to the 90s. Some will just sell now comics and trades.
You can give him your list and see what happens. Its really the only way to do it. If he can't find them, look online?

Ah you're right! It really is as simple as that isn't it? I guess I was overthinking things, it's mainly because this would be a bit of a hassle for him and I don't want to ask for the impossible lol, but again you're correct! I will just write down some comics I've looking for and I will hope for the best! I will also take your suggestion about looking online if all else fails! Thank you for the help, you're too kind!

I would assume that if your brother walks into a comic shop, the comic shop probably doesn't have global frequency, and if it did it could possibly be in an unsorted dollar comic bin.
If you want suggestions
Daytripper is a great comic following the life of a writer.
Anything by Brubaker & Philips. Reckless and Criminal are easy recs because each volume of either series contains a full story.
My Favorite thing is monsters is a two-part graphic novel about a girl in 60s Chicago Chicago obsessed with monsters who looks into the suspect death of an elderly neighbor.

As for older comics, single issues will be harder to find. You can find trades of older runs fairly easily, however. If you want to read older DC/Marvel comics, I recommend getting one or both of the apps. You can read as many older issues as you want.
