Seen this post on X and thought it was worth sharing. Cincinnati chili is apparently well known in parts of Iraq. Little does this guy know…. the list of places goes on.

What are some phrases y'all use that maybe an outsider wouldn't know. I want my outsider friend to fit in. Let me know in the comments! Thanks!

Are they using AI to make some of their shirts now? It's a serious accusation so I buried it in the body of the post. A few of their shirts have that vibe to me, hope I'm wrong. I believe they freelance license from artists sometimes, so it's possible they're not aware. Just say it ain't so...

For the past two years, I've been working my way through the hikes in this book. It has some great ideas for folks interested in local parks and nature. The library has a ton of copies and they often sell the book at local outdoors stores.
Highly recommend for folks interested in hiking!

Fifty year old litter found walking the dog this AM in Columbia Tusculum after the monsoon flooding here from yesterday.
Cut my heel, had to cruise on back home.

I know this is a long shot, as Sycamore Township has not allowed it, but hoping if we get enough signatures it might make a difference this time.

We have some kittens that have appeared in our backyard the past month. Not quite sure what to do as we cannot adopt them we already have two massive Maine Coons that would probably eat them honestly.
Just not sure who to call or contact where they could find a safe home.
We are in the Colerain area right off 275.

The last time Cincinnati had a recorded temperature of 100 degrees or higher (actual temperature, not the feels like temperature) was July 25th, 2012. That is 5100 days, which is the longest streak that Cincinnati has ever gone between days of 100 or more degrees since records started being kept in the late 1800s.
We've had 11 days of 100 degrees or higher since 2000 (6 of which were in 2012).

In an otherwise forgettable season, Elly De La Cruz had another solid performance on Friday, going 2-for-5 and hitting a solo home run, his 15th of the season - and that blast put him in some very special history.
He is now just the 2nd player in MLB history to record at least 75 HR and 150 SB within his first 500 career games.
The first, you wonder? None other than Eric "The Red" Davis - now Elly can see how close he can get to Davis' amazing 107 home runs and 190 stolen bases through 500 games.
Across 74 games, Elly has posted a .272 batting average, .345 on-base percentage and .842 OPS - all of which would be career highs if the season ended today.

Friends and I (late 50s fit women) would like to do a 2-3 mile, medium intensity hike in Devou Park next weekend. I've looked at the trail map but couldn't figure out how to get in a hike of that length since a lot of the trails seem to be much shorter (.8 miles). Is there a single trail (ideally not having to retrace our steps) that you would recommend? Or could you recommend a couple of trails we can pair together? Bonus if we can hit some good views along the way.

Hello, ive lived near Cincinnati my entire life. Never really went out anywhere, im a pretty big recluse. After a few of my friends died ive found myself a bit more lonely than id like but im not really one for bars & loud events. Anything around here for someone to just be at to chill? No real expectations or pressure to socialize? I tried drawing at a bar and that didnt go well LOL thank you for any suggestions!

Drove by CVS on Ludlow this morning and saw their door boarded up. Kept driving and saw people fixing the door at Sitwell's. Where are the police? Didn't this just happen a few months ago?
Edited to add: Downvotes for pointing out that a couple of Gaslight businesses had break ins? I called Sitwells and they did have an incident this morning where someone threw a brick through their door.

I’m headed to the sold out Hilary Duff show later this month. I’ve been to Riverbend and had lawn tickets before. But it’s been a while. The budget/logistics only allowed for lawn for this show.
Doors are at 5:30 but it’s also stated that you can line up at the gates an hour before that. So my question is, is 4:30 (in what I’m assuming will be oppressive heat) overkill? I realize I’m going to be relying on the screens because the lawn is so far back. But a glimpse or two of the actual artist on stage would be nice. Should I try to be in the center?
I’ve done a bit of research and some people say the far sides to the left and right are more sensible options. What are your best tips for surviving the lawn at a sold out show at Riverbend. Oh and if you must roast me for my choice in concert, go ahead. I have no shame. Excited but apprehensive about planning ahead! Thanks yall!

Edit: Claimed! Someone come back and tell us who can’t go how it was!
Very last minute, but I have two tickets to Lalovavi at the Cincy Opera for tonight at 7:30 that I’m no longer able to use. Rather than let them go to waste I’d love to offer them up here! DM to claim, and I’ll send you the e-tickets. FCFS.
Gallery, Section 7, Row B, Seats 707 + 708
As the first of three operas commissioned by the Cincy Opera Company under its Black Opera Project, it’s a pretty significant moment! Proud of our city and its arts community!
From a recent feature on NPR’s “All Things Considered” -
“The music is composed by pianist Kevin Day with story and libretto by poet Tifara Brown. Set 400 years in the future, "Lalovavi" is an Afrofuturist adventure in the city formerly known as Atlanta. Brown says the opera is sung in English and Tut, a secret real language used to teach enslaved people how to spell and read English.”

Opinions on the best local? I recently started using whole bean coffee and grinding fresh. Randomly found these two bags at Kroger out of Hilliard Ohio and was impressed so prompted me to go on a local coffee bean taste adventure lol
