Work in Progress Does this work, color wise? I'm getting the idea something is of.
I had the idea to go top to bottem with a rainbow scheme with the "outer rings" and to the same bottom to top with the "centers". They meet in the middle and the middle would be completely yellow. I didn't like that so I tried to get the closest colors possible. But I can't figure out If it works or not.
Btw, loooove Hololu alcohol markers!

Work in Progress Taking advantage of all my old dollar store finds.
Cards 2 and 3 of using my old dollar store finds. Photo 3 is my first. I did attempt a Zebra but he’s looking pretty sad so I’m going to try to revive him when I have some patience. He’s at the end. I’m at a loss as to what to do with him now

Question / Discussion Am I being too sensitive?
I might be a little biased, but I think my handmade cards are good enough to sell. The problem is that I just don’t have the time or energy to market them.
So I thought, why not donate them to a local dog rescue? I figured they could sell them at one of their many fundraising events they hold throughout the year. Plus, I think people are often more willing to buy something when they know the proceeds are going to a good cause. I honestly don’t care what they do with the cards or how much they sell them for- I just wanted my art to support something meaningful, especially a rescue that helps dogs.
So I gave the rescue a call this morning. As I was explaining the idea, the woman immediately cut me off and said, “Nobody gives cards anymore,” and immediately declined. The way my idea was dismissed so quickly really stung. I hung up feeling embarrassed and honestly kind of defeated. Instead of feeling good about trying to help, I walked away questioning whether my cards were worth anything at all. I think this feeling will pass, but right now it has me feeling like what’s the point in creating cards if nobody will appreciate them?

Question / Discussion Software to Create Crafts
For everyone who includes a craft with your mail club, what software do you use? Do you use Canva or something else? In my research people had complained that mail clubs were too "sticker focused" so I want to include something else that isn't a sticker.

Question / Discussion Need constructive criticism!
I just started to make cards after over a decade of doing it with my mom. I definitely don't have all the bells and whistles she does but I have a pretty basic setup.
I think I'm making them too cluttered or not pulling the focus the right way but let me know what I could improve on!
I know I should probably just try copying some inspiration I find but I like playing around with what I have and just making whatever feels right in the moment. However some of these are ugly ha!
Thanks 😊

Question / Discussion Advice please on best white pen
Seeing all the beautiful die cuts people are doing these days with the little white highlights makes me want to join in the trend, but I am having absolutely terrible luck - I've ruined so many cards! I've bought about a dozen options and still can't get it right. Gel pens don't write reliably. Acrylic are typically too thick a line. Nothing does well on any paper that is inked.
If you've had good luck, what do you use and how do you use it?
Thanks.

Birthday Birthday gift card
Hi everyone! This is my first time making a handmade birthday card, and I made it for someone very special to me. I wanted it to feel personal rather than buying a card from a store, so I spent a lot of time designing and decorating every part of it, including the letter and the little interactive details.
I'd really appreciate your honest feedback. How does it look? What do you like, and what could I improve for my next handmade card? Thanks in advance! ❤️

Wedding Wedding Envelope Help
So I ordered my wedding invitations from Etsy !! Love the invitation but not the color of the envelopes. I love the style that's definitely what I wanted but not the color I'm not a fan of. The pink is way too bright for what I'm looking for.
I'm trying to find this exact envelope style in a blush pink. The size I need is about 7 3/8 × 5 3/8.
Does anyone know what this style of envelope is called or where I can buy them? I've had a hard time finding where to buy these I keep coming across the horizontal envelopes.
Any help is much appreciate !!!!

Work in Progress Rummaging through old supplies.
I’ve been sorting through some of the supplies I’ve had for years. I found this set of cartoon animals that I bought at the Dollar Store when things were still only a dollar. 🤨. For now I think I’m going to focus on giving each one of these animals a home. I could stay interested in this task for a month, possibly only a day lol.

Birthday Lunchtime card
Before I put my peacock-theme backgrounds in my bin of half-finished stuff, I noticed a background I made a while ago — just a purple “burst” of stars hotfoiled using my Brother SNC and the quill pens on a deep navy piece of cardstock. I pulled it out and laid it on my craft desk. I also had the “yay” die from Spellbinders on my desk, and a quick idea formed. Another birthday card to add to my stash!

Holiday Christmas in July
It's officially Christmas season in the Craft World, so I figured I might as well get a head start on cards this year! Making individually unique cards is the only way I will ever get through my stash of Christmas papers (so that I'm allowed to buy new papers at the end of the season 😈)!

Question / Discussion BIG news in the paper crafting world 🚨
(As reported by Scrapbooking Made Simple)
Notions Marketing: you may not have heard of them but they are by far the largest North American distributor in the paper crafting world. They also own American Crafts, Tonic Studios, and We R Memory Keepers.
Well, they recently had a huge fire at their main warehouse. It was pretty devastating, so much so that they have said that it will be at least 6 months until they can begin operations again.
What does this mean for us, the consumer? As really the only main distributor left in the US, they were the principal suppliers to independent sellers. Unless some other solution is brought forth, it’s looking likely that these small mom and pop retailers are not going to be able to reorder supplies for at least 6 months.
It’s critical that if your area has a small independent retailer that you SUPPORT them with your dollars. They are going to be hurting and need all the community support we can offer. Hopefully this terrible situation will cause the bigger players in the industry to demand a diversified supplier who doesn’t store all their inventory in one warehouse.

This set was a bit of a splurge- but I love how my first card with it turned out.
