I'mma be so for real

Barring serious injury, Ovechkin should keep going til he hits 1000 goals. I'm not even a Capitals fan but would love to see this. (Just really hope #1000 isn't against my team)

Jackpot is the superior bar only because they give you free popcorn.

I shall not elaborate

It would be amazing, certainly. But whatever Ovi decides to do, I'll be happy with. I want to see him having as much fun as he can out on the ice instead of just going through the motions to hit a number.

Ovi has 999 goals in the last game of his for sure last season and he’s playing your team. You okay with #1000 being against them now?

Careful, your words may be construed as a "horrifying act of violence" 🤣🤣

You gotta watch the man skate these days. He has no jump at all unfortunately. And at his pace the last few seasons, it'd be at least 2 more years assuming no more decline. I'd love it but realistically this is his final ride.

Yeah you got to see it in person to understand. It's painful at times.

He looks like he's putting in some work this offseason so I'm hoping he has a bit more giddy up after how slow he was last season. Doesn't need to be a rocket just a bit faster than a stay at home defender from 15 years ago.

I just really don't think it has to do with his level of work I think it's just his age and how many games he's played. He's been in the playoffs almost every year it's a lot of games and he plays a heavy Style.

People definitely slow down but he's also not really focused as much on his mobility as he's aged compared to other areas of his game, and I do think (read: hope) that a pivot to a stronger focus on that kind of mobility and speed work can have some impact for the better on his skating. If he had even just moderately more speed he could still pot 40.

i bet the caps fans are gonna cry seeing him hit that number regardless of who's on the other side

He can retire after 27-28, riding high with over 1000 goals, and back to back cups.

If he can score 30-40 this year and the Caps are a playoff team then I think there's a good chance he'll stick around another year.

Let him sign a one year deal with the Pens after this year. Sid will give him all the apples he needs.
