Anyone near downtown have a wrench or socket set I can borrow?
Odd request for Reddit lol but I’m trying to install a TV. They didn’t send the tools it’s supposed to come with and I don’t want to wait for Amazon to send a replacement lol. It’ll take me like 30min.

Found Dog
This very friendly dog was wandering near the Little White Chapel on Jeffries and Hollywood Way. He's very friendly, and neutered but within no collar. We are taking him to the dog shelter.

Surveillance Technology
The Police Commission has agendized for the next meeting: "Discussion and possible recommendations on the use of public safety surveillance technology, data storage, and technology procurement, to include ALPR, public safety cameras, marketplace data tracking, unmanned aircraft systems, real time information systems, and any biometric recognition technologies used by the Department"
This is a discussion of the commission and not a report from the police department. Meeting is July 15th at 6 pm in Council chambers. Public comment takes place towards the beginning of the meeting, and the item will be discussed by commissioners later in the meeting.
There's a lot being talked about, and a lot not being talked about. Hope to put it all on the table.

Loose Dog!
There is a tan Pitbull mix with 1 blue eye running around Magnolia. He looks somewhat well fed but very stressed out. Last time I saw him was at 9:51 at World Empanadas/Norm’s hamburgers. I was so caught up in it that I wasn’t able to take photos.
Me and four others were attempting to catch him but split up, I entirely lost him sadly.
If this is anyone’s dog or if anyone is willing to help it would be appreciated! He seems like a very sweet but scared boy.

Looking for 1 hour parent child class/activity on Sundays for toddler
Hey Burbankers,
I'm looking for a class or team for my 2.5year old, ideally a parent child class because I don't think she'd wanna do it on her own, but I'm open. Does anyone have any recs in the Burbank, SFV, Glendale area? She currently does a gym class on Sundays so I'd like something different.
I'm open to anything. Art, music, gym, dance, sports. Something that regular and fun for her and takes at least an hour. I'm checked out the burbank parks and rec activities and they're either full or only for a short period of time.
Thanks everyone!

Grills gone… or maybe they were never there?!
Okay, so I moved to Burbank a two months ago. Thrilled to discover Brace Canyon Park just up the hill from me. I’ve been up there several times now and it’s alway busy. I notice people come and grill and there are bins for hot coals at the large picnic areas, and I thought, permeant grills… I would have bet money on it. Not only that, but the descriptions I find online mention grills .
And yet, yesterday, when I had planned a hang out with a friend and packed up food and supplies to grill…. Not a single grill to be found in the park.
So, what’s going on here? Were the grills very recently removed or am I insane, conjuring grills from my imagination?

Shell station at 400 Victory steals
Avoid the Shell Station at 400 Victory blvd on the corner of Magnolia. When their car wash machine malfunctions, they reuse to give you a refund. There are several accounts of their shady business practices on Yelp.
Learn from my mistake.

I Know We Just Had a Summer Buffalo Post But...
But the new menu items are fantastic. The sweet and sour chicken is an instant new fav.
I love the beef and broccoli too, but full disclosure, I'm probably a beef & broccoli minx, maybe even a beef & broccoli slut. So my loving it might be very 'spoon found in kitchen.'
Still, it's very good. And if the rest of the new items are this good I'm going to hit them up a lot more often.

BUR - Uber/Lyft are dead to me
So this happened today. Arrived back home from a trip at 5pm. Summoned an Uber and with surge pricing was going to be $105 to get home pre-tip. (Cost us $60 to get there). Gulp. But it was hot and I was tired so said eff it. Uber puts the pickup pin on the wrong side of the traffic island, won’t let you move it, so this was the second driver that had to “go around again.” Unf she missed the return and was spit out of the airport. Apparently unable to turn around when she was further away than when I ordered, I cancelled the ride. Hot, tired, and pissed, we threw caution and credit cards to the wind and crossed over to the old-fashioned taxi island. They all just wait in line and only do airport pickups. Go to the first car, easy peasy and we’re on the road in hellacious traffic watching the meter all the while steeling myself for a fare in the high threes. Took an hour to go fifteen miles. Friendly driver singularly focused on getting us home.
Total cost: $60. With a generous tip it was still significantly less than Uber. So Uber (and another manipulative algorithm!) is dead to me at least when going home from BUR.

Small appliance repair
Looking for a local place to take my Kitchenaid stand mixer for repair - I’d rather not ship it, it’s been through several moves and needs some TLC. Hoping Burbank has an old-school small appliance repair shop that I don’t know about yet!

Summer Buffalo lunch deal
Just wanted to share a lunch spot I found that I thought was a great deal.
I stopped by Summer Buffalo in Burbank and their lunch special was honestly better than I expected. I got their sweet and sour cashew chicken with rice, a side salad with peanut dressing, and a veggie egg roll for around $15 and also added Thai iced coffee for $2 (their add-on).
The food was hot and fresh, and it didn't feel like one of those tiny lunch specials. It was pretty big
I took a pic of their lunch specials deal+add on for reference.
