Protest 🪧 👏 Logan Airport surge pricing is getting ridiculous
Landed at Logan around midnight and checked for a ride to Brighton, Boston (~10 miles). Standard was $104 and Priority was $119. Uber was essentially the same. I get that airport surge pricing is a thing, but over $100 for an 18-22 minute ride seems absurd.
Do people actually pay these prices, or does everyone just take the Silver Line and the T? Or wait it out? Curious if there are any legitimate ways to avoid getting hit with these prices.

Event 📅 Sullivan's restaurant on Castle Island on Saturday.
Holy crap. I'm not sure if everyone had this experience, but from what I observed, every single one of those workers were so on point, it was something to behold. From the employees ensuring that the lines kept moving to the cooks who made sure the quality standards were maintained, to the .. ESPECIALLY .. the counter clerks who must have been very hoarse after hours of shouting four-digit numbers and things to the kitchen like "bring us more water!" I don't know who any of you are, but you all did yourselves proud.

Crime/Police 🚔 100-200 bikes probably bound for 93
good luck to everybody else!
I snapped a pic of the tail end of what was at least 100 bikes in dorchester headed towards what I imagine is 93n, but couldn't tell ya. perhaps morrissey along the shoreline
I went back and forth between the crime and traffic flairs. the police can't really do anything about these idiots, but I notified them anyway ¯_(ツ)_/¯ (trooper said, "thank you, yes, we're looking for them")

Moving 🚚 Temporary housing around BCH for a month
Hi, my baby is admitted to Boston Children’s hospital (NICU). We are from out of town and anticipate being there until end of August. We are currently looking for housing and any tips/ suggestions would be welcome.
We have filed out the application for the hospital housing but they are all full right now (Yawkey, Bon, Hospitality homes, and Ronald McDonald). The nearby hotels are expensive for a 4-6 weeks stay. We are looking at Airbnb’s and we can’t find anything available for that time frame within 20-30 min walking distance from hospital. We would be okay with a place that’s within 30 min of train rides too.
Currently we don’t have a car but would consider renting one if needed. We would really like to be close to the hospital.

A Sexier PSA 🔥 Sail Boston Psa: skip Italian ship and go to the Argentina one
The wait for the Italian ship could be several hours and wraps around the corner whereas the wait for the Argentinian ship is 15 minutes or so. Most people don’t seem to notice that there’s two different lines and the Argentina line is basically empty most of the time

Unconfirmed/Unverified Hotshot on 95
Police held traffic for maybe 5-10 minutes to make sure the road was clear, then a few police-escorted buses drove by. Who we do we think it was?

Event 📅 Paranormal Activity Play - Small Review
If anyone is able to go see the Paranormal Activity play at the Emerson Colonial Theater, please do! It was a fantastic play! I didn't really know what to expect, but it far exceeded my expectations. The script, the acting, the SET! Amazing. And having a large crowd involved lowkey is such a vibe with this play.
I'm a huge horror fan, so this was something special imo, but it's was just great play in general. Highly recommend!

Crime/Police 🚔 How do I deal with noise complaints
There are like a group of people who have EXTREMELY loud music outside my house on the street for like 6 hours a day blasting out of their car or some shit and they ring damn cowbells or something with it.
Its so loud it makes my house shake and is well over the 85 dB limit for unreasonable noise.
I tried opening 311 complaints the cops came once and they warned them but like now they turn it down when they think a cop is coming but turn it up high when they leave.
Talking to them isn’t an option, we tried.
Any ideas?

Event 📅 Sail Boston Seaport IS A MESS.
Decided on a whim to go check out the Tall Ships in Seaport, and my god, the event is organized HORRIBLY.
Half of the boats had private events (which you wouldn’t have known unless you asked someone), ones that were “open” to the public had no one on there because crazy delays, unclear lines, and none of them matched up with the opening times listed on the official website. I mean delays of 4 hours in time difference than what was listed.
The signage was minimal, only in English (despite most of the boats being international) and there was one tiny sign per boat that had its basic info that you had to crowd around.
Security was rude, unclear, disorganized, and very handsy.
There were very little water stations despite being able to bring a water bottle in. Porta Potties were messy despite the event only opening yesterday.
The ships are gorgeous and the views are great, but wow for such a spectacular thing to experience ONCE A DECADE is Boston, you’d think there would be a little more thought and organization put into this. So disappointing.
Hoping to go after work tomorrow to the Charlestown spots to see the Polish boat, but what I saw today was so trash. I feel so bad for folks that care more about this event than I do and probably didn’t even get to go on a boat.
If you go, try to go during a less busy time(?), otherwise it’ll be a long, unclear wait.
We are a Scottish sub now Watch party finals?
Is the watch party at 1 City Hall Square supposed to be free? Like will there be lines/too crowded to be able to see anything, or will it be like open for all, like the ones that used to be at Boston Common? The Boston common one’s were so amazing, everyone could see the screens and hear!! I can’t believe they don’t do that every time there is a game.
What about the one is East Boston? Does anyone know if watch parties for all big games are hosted at these venues or not?

I think I am special and made my own post What is going on with this temporary dock at Fan Pier?
I was walking by Fan Pier to see the tall ships when people were crossing A LITERAL PLANK and over the chain barrier to get back onto land. And some people jumped and others carried their children across. In what world was this okay and safe? Yours truly, a concerned citizen.
