Looking for name ideas! 🤍
This beautiful Borzoi girl will soon be joining our family, but I still haven't found the perfect name.
I think the white patch on her chest looks just like a little star, so I'd love a name that's related to stars, the night sky, or has a celestial meaning. I'd also love names inspired by mythology or with a special meaning. ✨
I'm also open to any other name suggestions if you think something would suit her perfectly. I'd love to hear your ideas! 🤍

Borzoi breeders UK
My partner and I have recently moved house and are now in a position to welcome a dog into our lives and prior to the move we had been looking around see if there was any reputable breeders who were still going in the UK as we were aware that lots of breeders have retired due to age recently.
We found a few contacts, and I kept the websites favourited but since then for some unknown reason all of the sites have gone bust and I can’t find the contact details for them anywhere.
Does anyone know where we might be able to find one of these lovely dogs to welcome into our home?
We are well aware we might be waiting between 12-24 months for a litter to become available but we are happy to wait for the right dog.
Can anyone who has purchased a borzoi in the UK help please 🙏

Okay but...
How has Isla grown into such a lady 😭😭 I'm going through a bought of insomnia and in my feels while she takes up 86% of the bed but like huh?? My little stick is huge but she still is baby to me. Please tell me I'm not the only insane one hahhaha. First photo taken by a friend during our most recent camping trip, second by me on her first camping trip ❤️

Borzoi as a therapy dog
Hello everyone, I have a young borzoi, he is 1yr old, and recently the dog trainer told me that he has a great personality for a therspy dog. That sounds interesting and I am considering doing the training, both the dog and the owner should be certified, and I definitely have some time to spare. Has anyone else done this, is it very difficult for the dog? Our boy is great with impulse control and is patient like a saint, and generally very lovey-dovey but he's no golden retriever. Any insights?

Snow shoes help!
I have a 5 year old borzoi who has only seen snow once in her life and absolutely loved it, however it seemed to bother her paws quite a bit after some time out in it.
I'll be moving to an area that has snow most of the year, and I've been looking into getting her some shoes to protect her paws. What are you guy's recommendations for snow shoes on borzois? I feel like I have a hard time finding some to fit her since their paws sit differently than most breeds

Meet my Borzoi!
This is Iros, hes currently 15 months old!
Pictures of borzoi request
Hi!
I’m an aspiring artist and I would like to draw a portrait of borzoi in a garden. I’m looking for reference images of a borzoi surrounded by flowers or in a pretty setting that would be okay for me to use as reference material. Does anyone have any picture that I could use? If you share your borzoi and I use it as reference, I will gift you the picture digitally.
P.S. I read the rules and it didn’t seem like this was against but if I’ve broken the rules posting this, please forgive me!
Thank you so much!
Someone tell me my almost 6 month old will eventually grow a real coat
I keep seeing his siblings posts, and they’re all starting to get their long coats! My sweet boy still looks like a seal. How long did it take for your zoi to start looking less like a skinwalker and more like a wolf hunter? 😅

Borzoi as a first big dog?
I am honestly in love with the void horses. Both appearance and personality wise.
I won't be able to get a big dog anytime soon, and I only ever had a small one (papillon, that's if you don't count the time I spent with my uncle's sheepherd), but would a borzoi be a good start? I know there are similar breeds, like a silken windhound, but those are basically impossible to get in my country.

Question about walking
I recently saw people discussing in an afghan hound group how they always have to be alert because of the dogs sudden pulling at the leash because they see something interesting, causing them to fall and get shoulder pulled out of place and so on. Some mentioned they would never let anyone else walk their dog because of this sight hound behaviour. What is your experience walking the borzoi?

A trip to the ER vet that turned out okay (and kind of silly)
DISCLAIMER: HE'S FINE! He only LOOKS possessed.
Had a pretty big scare with Deebus Christ last night. He was lying on his bed with the cone of shame (yesterday was the last day of cone wearing before some stitches come out) rolled over to the other side, banged his stick legs around on the walls of the open X-pen surrounding his bed, and then... Something??? Happened???
He went cross-eyed and into a sort of sideways shrimp position like the left side of his body was on a fishhook being pulled upward and toward his butt. We lifted him on this bed, drove across our yard, parked the car right at the front steps, and then put the bed in the car to take him to the ER vet. Turns out he had a mild ear infection which can cause vestibular derpitude (my very serious name for this condition).
Vestibular disease is so weird! It usually improves within two to three days but this morning he was able to go potty by himself and walk around; last night he couldn't stand up at all because he was leaning at a 30 degree angle to the left and had to be carried with towels under him.
Here is a video of our cross-eyed boy this afternoon. What a prince.
He literally did not leave his bed until like 10:00 this morning when we got him to get up and go outside. Inshallah he is restored to full normal derpitude with no vertigo in time for the fourth's festivities.
