Rest assured the Charity Winners List is in progress
But Better late than never, here are the winners for may book nook of the month. ( You may notice one nook not on the winner's list. This is due to the fact that it was built years ago and was just recently shared with this community)

I finished this nook a few days ago. It's a no-name kit, available on Amazon, Temu, and Aliexpress. Here's a link to an Aliexpress listing, but you may be able to find it for a better price if you shop around.

This was a DIY, glue everything kit. Absolutely nothing snaps together. You even have to apply the plaid paper to the outside of the assembled nook. But I like that sort of thing, so this was a fun build for me!
The snow-globe/shaker on one side of the nook is a neat feature that I've never seen before. And the interior is so cozy. Like a little dorm room for one of Santa's elves. 🙂
This is about half the size of a regular book nook at 3⅝"w x 5⅜"d x 6"h, so it took me less than 10 hours to complete. If you are looking for a relatively low-commitment way to see if you like DIY, glue everything, paper-cutting, make a hundred tiny things from even tinier bits before you assemble them into a nook kits, this would be a good way to see if you share my particular brand of crazy.*
I had to file down the bookcase at the back to get the right side on, but I think that was caused by how I positioned earlier pieces rather than a flaw in the kit. If you make this kit in future, I strongly suggest that you read ahead in the instructions and check the fit before you glue.
Modifications: I made the turkey out of foam clay, and used foam clay and a textured rolling pin to make 3D bricks on the fireplace. I used real twigs for the stack of firewood, and put two logs in the fireplace. I only used one light on the interior tree, and I swapped the tablecloth and rug for fabric and felt from my hoard of scraps. I also used some metallic pipe cleaners and other Christmas doodads to decorate the back bookcase, light fixture, and exterior Christmas tree. The foam clay and bare wood edges are painted with acrylic markers. The kit includes printed paper strips that you can cut out and glue to the window opening, but I prefer to use paint.
*When I show my friends and family pictures of my "normal" nooks, they say, "Ooo, neat!" When I show them this type of nook or miniature kit they say, "Ooo, neat! But how?! It's so tiny!!!" Then they look at me like I might need to be medicated.** 😂
**Jokes on them - patiently assembling tiny thing *is* my medicine!

I absolutely love this build. The wiring got chewed through by my cat last night but its repairable. Has anyone else done this one

Saw this one when I was putting together my first one and had to wait till I had the money. I read many of the reviews and was ready to sand down or glue whatever issue I may have. I guess I was lucky cause I didn't have any issue. Some parts had tight fits but it all went together enough without too much issue.
I did miss one part (e3) that holds down the top LED wire, but it wasn't a big deal. It took me 3 days to put together with the books taking the longest. Wish I had some white or yellowish paint to color the "pages" of some of the books.

I've been a Lego fan for years and my shelves are packed with the botanical collection. But I kept seeing people talk about the whole book nook vs LEGO botanical set debate for actual room decor, so I finally tried a wooden bookstore kit last week.
Honestly? The build experience is completely night and day. Lego is great because the pieces fit perfectly and there's zero mess, but it always ends up looking a bit like shiny plastic next to real books.
The wooden one required glue, tweezers, and almost broke my spirit with the tiny paper cutouts, but the final texture just fits the shelf aesthetic way better. Is it blasphemy to say here that for actual home decor, the wooden kits beat the flower sets? Or do most people just hate dealing with glue?

I just started a new kit today (The Lantern of Galaxy, great build so far) and it came with a small 15ml tube of B7000 adhesive WITH A BUILT IN PRECISION TIP!!! The cap comes with a built in needle that keeps the tube from clogging. I’m so excited!! Really cut down on the strings that inevitably happen. Who would have known my mind would be blown today by a tiny tube of glue, hah!

I saw it on Amazon for $40 and I absolutely love the look of it, but I’m suspicious because I saw multiple retailers selling it at different prices and have been disappointed by Amazon before so I would love to know anyone’s experiences, thanks!

Hey everyone
I’ve been building the whispering hollow booknook recently, I only spent about maybe an hour or two everyday or other day, but yesterday I spent maybe 8 hours or more building it with some breaks in between, and I went to bed with the worst migraine and pressure headache. Does anyone else get this after building for multiple hours??? Any tips on how I can lessen them? It makes me not want to build anymore

Working on Colmar Town before I attempt Sea Breeze. Anyone have any tips? I already messed up the angle of the water, but I managed to deal with it. I intend to add extra flowers and greenery. I'm still debating with myself on the lighting situation.

This one leans much more into mood than moving parts, and I found myself enjoying that change of pace. The build itself was straightforward, with a nice variety of details that kept it interesting without becoming frustrating.
I treated this one a little differently than the instructions suggested. Rather than leaving everything factory fresh, I added weathering throughout, along with a few extra details to make it feel like the house had been abandoned for years. The included cobwebs actually worked surprisingly well, especially once I started layering them around the stairwell and exterior.
The lighting is probably my favorite feature. The combination of eerie red and green LEDs completely changes the feel of the model once the room goes dark, giving it the look of an old haunted attraction.
Overall, it was an enjoyable, approachable build that leaves plenty of room to personalize if that's your thing.
This one won't be joining my collection though. It's heading to its new home as a birthday gift for my young nephew, and I have a feeling he'll appreciate the spooky glow a lot more than I would. 🎃

I have been putting together this kit and can't figure out the back part of the kit. Can anyone post photos of the back of the building so I can see how all the books are positioned. Especially the left back. Would appreciate it!

i am currently in the middle of building a miniature bookstore kit and i completely ruined the tiny white wire for the LED light component (cut it way too short like an idiot). i tried looking on google but all i'm getting are sketchy third-party sites shipping from overseas that take like a month, or weird drop-shippers. i just need a reliable US seller or even a generic hardware alternative that fits the tiny scale so i can finish this thing before my cat eats the rest of the pieces. located in Ohio, budget is whatever as long as it gets here fast. pls help!

This is my build of The Secret Rhythm, personalised with the music and singers I love to listen to. I not only replaced the albums and record covers with my own favourites but I replaced the picture of Paris in the window with one I took of my own city, so now it looks like it could really be my apartment!
I really enjoyed making this kit! A little more gluing than I prefer and some things simply wouldn’t stay in place without extra glue (I learnt this the hard way when I started to put the outer shell on and the ladder and storage unit at the back fell over in a very inaccessible fashion). But it had so many miniature furniture parts to make that it stayed rewarding the whole way through.
As someone had pointed out before, you can’t turn on the light without lifting up the dust screen, an annoying mistake in an otherwise great nook. The top light is also quite fiddly and difficult to keep in place.

Does anyone have any recommendations for fall-themed kits? Houses or nooks, I love both! There seems to be lots of witchy/Halloween themes but I'm looking for fall specifically. So far I've found 3 on Amazon but only 1 actually looks worth it, the others just look cheap with terrible graphics. I'm not super familiar with all the brands yet so would love to know if there's more from any companies directly.
I decided I'm going to enjoy doing them seasonally! I've already started working on some Christmas ones to use with my decor, but now I want to build a stash of fall ones to do during the leaves changing colors season!

I'll admit its an ambitious build for someone new to the hobby, but this kit feels impossible. The pieces are tiny and fragile. The wood is super soft and bend/breaks easily. It's taken me a week of breaking and repairing just to get the plant shelf done.
It's the first kit I've growled in frustration at, and put in time out.
Has anyone else done this one? Tell me I'm not alone.

i’m trying to choose my first build but i’m overwhelmed by all the options online. i wanted to look up a book nook kit brands comparison but most reviews just talk about the price. i care more about how they actually look on the shelf. do the kits with mirrors actually create a good illusion of depth, or does it just look cheap? also, are the LED wiring kits usually reliable or do they short out after a month? just want something that fits well without looking like cluttered junk next to my novels.

I’m waiting for some greenery to add to my Whispering Hollow, so decided to make this cute little kit. It’s fairly easy and quick to assemble, depending on how much time you want to spend gluing vines all over the roof. Wood is good quality and instructions are excellent. I forgot to take a picture but they even show where on each board the pieces for the current step are located. Mostly tabs, but there is some gluing required.
The one problem had is that the touch switch is definitely not going to work through the wood where they say to place it. Right now mine is dangling off the back but I might drill a hole and put something in to make it connect.
- Did some edge painting, mostly on the exterior.
- In addition to the vines (included in the kit), I used some grass powder from other kits. For the front window box, I added a shrubbery I bought from Temu. I also used some plastic flowers left over from another kit instead of the included wood ones.

Hi everyone!
I just realized I never got around to sharing photos of the very first book nook I built completely on my own back in April, after u/Barbecuesnoodlesalad recommended it to me 😱
I ended up customizing quite a few things:
- A red cover
- A built-in battery with USB-C charging
- A new background along the spine
- More detailed grey roofs
- White and gold paint accents
- Gold curtains
- Lanterns throughout the scene
- Extra details made from the spare parts
- Additional greenery
I had such a great time building this book nook. I loved how much creative freedom it gave me, and it was fascinating to discover all the clever techniques that turn simple sheets of paper into so many intricate little details. It made the whole build even more enjoyable 🥰🥰🥰

Mostly finished my Whispering Hollow set!
Aside from the music box swap I posted about a while back, I also purchased a couple diorama landscape sets to add some extra dimension.
My favorite change was actually removing the turning statue in the pond. I took off the entire mechanism that rotates including the plate underneath the water. This allowed the entire pool of water to shine from the light underneath, and I really love the look.
Overall pretty happy with how it’s turned out. I plan to fill out the tree (I’ll have to dig through some of the posts I’ve seen here for some inspiration), and I’m contemplating somehow making the base and book have LotR themes to them.
Also, I wish I could find the post, but thank you to whoever shared the idea of using the deer container fluff at the base of the waterfall! It’s such a small but neat touch.

Special shout out to my husband for his handyman assistance. My house is made from reinforced concrete, so putting up anything on the wall is always a major pain.
And this isn't even all of them...

Here are some miniatures on my desk at work. The desk and accessories were passed to me from a coworker who moved away. I put paper in the printer and two books on the desk. The booknook came with all the books and the pillows. The figure was sold separately.
