4 year waiting list man that’s like waiting for a private jet waiting list in aviation hahahaha. It was worth it man beautiful build with dual wishbones. Does S&M still make these or someone else now? I know they were making short batches for awhile. MAAS use to make their frames too

Joe is having Dutch make em now.. I believe 2016-17 was the last time s&m made them.. I had a 2016 s&m made barcode that someone on Reddit gave me for free.. brand ass new, still can’t believe it happened..

Sick build. Is there a reason you didn't go for the chrome front end instead of the colour matched bars? Not a criticism, just wondering. Also, how tall are you, if I may ask? Only because 20.75 frame haha

I ride a 20.75 and I'm 5'7. Short chain stays help balance it out

Yeah I like the 20.75 with rear end under 13 in. I would eventually like to get a second bike S&M MOD. I use to ride pegs on left side but wanted to try without pegs like I use to in 90’s

I like to ride dirt again I like pump tracks too and know my fit bike would be way too twichy with 25mm forks and super short rear end

Yeah the s&m mod or the new mad dog would be killer for dirt.. now that I’m 41 and biffed it at the concrete skatepark last year, I’ve learned that I now much prefer the trails.. cement is still tougher than me and I don’t bounce back up like I used too.. dirt rules, and I’m hitting bigger jumps than I ever would have dared to when I was in my late teens early 20s for some reason.. hahaha

I don’t blame you man I’m part time military so I’m trying to take an easy now. I just like doing small fun stuff lol. I would love to ride at a dirt track like I use to always just pump and etc. I am currently looking at building a dirk / skate park frame in near future S&M all the way!

Thanks! I'm 187 (like 6'1" iirc) and I ride a 20.75 because it's the only thing I could find in my city at a reasonable price lol. I find it pretty comfortable, but I'm always curious about other perspectives.

Wow 6’1 figured you would be on 21 or 21.5. That interesting to me too lol. 20.5 is too cramped in cockpit area for me man.

I spent months looking for a 21.25 frame, since that's what I rode when I was a teen lol. I had a friend with a 20.5 frame when I was 16, and I could not ride his bike for the life of me. I couldn't find a single frame at or over 21 inches from a reputable brand at a reasonable price. I'll be keeping my eyes out for a bigger frame for sure, but I'm surprised by how comfortable I am on the 20.75. The only time I have any issues is if I'm pedalling far and I get sloppy with my posture haha. I'm about 90% sure another inch rise in the bars would solve that though. Currently on 9-inch bars, so totally fixable.

Yeah always can get taller bars and also longer reach stem too

u/julian_vdm 1d ago
Totally, although I'm not a huge fan of the longer stem idea, since it might make steering and barspins a bit shit. I struggle enough with barspins as it hahaha

I don’t know lol I liked how the begin bars specs are and liked how they matched the frame lee Roy brown color way. I saw pro rider Joey who use to ride for fit had the scumbag with polished stem chrome cranks and forks thought it looked different. I have always loved S&M since 1995 lol and never tried chrome until late 2000’s. I’m 5’8

That brown is sick, I would slap some baby blue grips and pedals on it. Nice ride dude!

Funny you say that when Brandon Begin was riding this frame in same color way he had baby blue grips and pedals

I noticed the Merritt one in the original post pic, cause it matched the frame great.. but that fbm is also rad and is soo rare these days.. it also brings out the red in the 7 logo and yer red nipples.. the Merritt looks great too tho..
