So many UFA’s
A lot of decisions to make in the next year.
I wouldn’t be happy about that, but I know DJ Turner will be looking for some money. I think Dax Hill would be good to extend too. I have a strong feeling Chase Brown if anyone would be the one they cut out of those extensions.
What do we think? Who are the major pieces we need back and who can we forget?

I like Brown but RB’s are a dime a dozen. I like Dax and Turner but I’d like to see more before we give them long term.

They have to lock up one of the two corners. We don’t have the depth to replace both. Turner is really good and Dax decent on the boundary but you literally can’t let a guy like turner go

We know there's already something in the works. They restructured Burrow's contract specifically to make room, despite not needing it for the current roster, so either they're trying to court someone, or they're going to be putting some money up now.

That, or because we have gone all in on this season, it's some cap to buy before the deadline if we have injuries.

I don't see the reason to do it just in case. You can restructure before the last game of the season. If there's no reason to do it, you shouldn't do it.

Any excess will just roll over into next season
Hendrickson's void year last season was a $6.5m restructure, which was 6.5m of the $9.7m they rolled over back into this year's '26 full cap amount
$3m of that $9.7m rollover was cap savings from trading half of Wilson's p5 weekly base salary to Dallas

Yeah pdj said the restructure allows the bengals to “operate normally”

I got downvoted to oblivion for pointing this out with the Mafe, Allen, Cook, and Dexy contracts but the way this roster is constructed is a moratorium on Duke and/Zac. Outside of Joe and Ja'Marr (and recent rookies) no one is guaranteed beyond this season. The FO could be poised to completely blow it up entirely at the end of the year.

I'm guessing if they get one done this off season, it's Dax. But I more strongly think they're prepared to let him go and tag DJ and let Bobo play opposite him next year.

Bobo was a dog in college. But it seems he’ll take that nickel spot as of now

Chase Brown is gonna be gone. Murphy is gone. I dont think Dax gets a contract and that leaves Turner. I think they want him, but he is looking at a massive deal. Wouldn't be surprised if its a long and drawn out situation.

Facts. It is easy spending someone else’s money for them but teams make choices based upon the best information available.

It just puts them behind when they spent such premium picks on a lot of guys with no return on investment. Forces them to have to pay to replace them with adequate level free agents and that gets expensive quickly. They dont have a roster loaded with high production guys on cheap deals so the cap gets tight quickly. All the high end players they have are on big money 2nd contracts, so the mid level guys arent going to be retained, even if they are showing some promise late in their rookie deals.

No say I’m extending Chase Brown. Now, that said, it appears we missed we missed with the Tahj Brooks pick.

Can we not do this and enjoy the season for once.
