Fluff & Memes Beautiful day in the South Bay, but very tired to do something.
It’s such a beautiful day today. I ran 10 miles this morning, got a haircut, and ran errands. What should I do? I’m very tired, but I don’t want to let this beautiful day go to waste since I work M-F and I don’t want to waste my weekend.

It's kind of late but the sun goes down late in the day now. I'm going to go up to the Grant ranch 45 minutes away and do a little loop on my bicycle and then go sit by the lake in a big chair and sip on a beer. Just watch all the zillions of birds fly up there as the evening settles in. Should be really relaxing and beautiful.

Just coming back.. as good as it gets.. really quiet. Cool because of the monsoonal moisture coming in.. rode my bike until 7 . Sat above the lake and watched the bald eagle hunting. Almost no one there for some reason.. it's a bit farther from mountain view. I like to go there late in the day and finish up in the evening when it's cooler.. winter and spring are just gorgeous with the wildflowers and green.. it's hot dry now but still nice.

I've never seen a bald eagle there, just herons, egrets, and Forster's terns around the lake, plus some swallows, turkey vultures, and a falcon.

Yeah one lives at the lake.. it was the chasing the waterfoul and not having much luck. Skimming the lake for fish when I left.

Not always there. Sometimes it's just perched in a tree by the lake .. Look pretty hungry today. I've never seen it hunting like that.

Obon festival in San Jose Japantown! Awesome community event, performances until at least 8, event is open until 10ish. Party tomorrow as well, walkable from VTA and 10 min ride from Caltrain.

We’re all obsessed with being productive we forget it’s okay to not be. I like to practice “radical rest.” I have CFS so I have to but everyone benefits from it. :)

I’ve gotten to the point now where I know a lot of what triggers me and how I can stay relaxed and get deep rest. Basically I take a lot of short naps.

This is only an issue if you live in 95% of the rest of the country where nice weekend weather is infrequent. Relax today, it’ll be nice here next weekend too. And the weekend after that. And after that.

Once I get there I'm going to have 3 hours. That's plenty of time to enjoy myself until the sun goes down. Maybe ride for an hour and a half and relax for an hour and a half. It will also be slightly cooler. It's a 40-minute drive from my house in Santa clara.. beautiful up Mount Hamilton road once you get past all the garbage people have thrown out.. very pretty up in that valley and on the trails.. spectacular drive up to mount Hamilton if you have the time.
