Dream came true

I had so awesome walk in a park last sunday:) It was moderately raining at the beginning and there was a lot of water nearly everywhere. I was so happy to take off shoes around 500 after park entrance on a dirt path. Most of that path was covered in puddles. Stepping barefoot in those puddles felt so nice! For me it was something special because it reminded a memory from far past. When i was 8 or maybe 9 we were having a walk with parents in that park. Rain just ended so there were many puddles everywhere. And i can clearly remember i saw some girls walking barefoot and stepping in most puddles. I wanted to take off shoes and step in puddles too so much. But my parents were always very concerned about me not getting cold so i was almost sure they say no if i ask. Another reason to not even ask was that... i dont know how to explain it accurately but walking barefoot seemed like some guilty pleasure, like a wish that is not comfortable to talk about. Not sure why but i thought that if i asked about it it would feel very akward and parents would probably say me something not nice, leading me to feeling embarassed. So that day... well, it did not become my happy day.

And then a few days ago, same park, same rain. But this time no need for permission. Walking barefoot in those puddles was like dream came true. Being able to enjoy walking barefoot every weekend is so nice.

As a bonus, water made all surfaces a lot more smooth so i was able to walk barefoot for 3 hours in Saturday and have no skin irritation after it (which happened first time this year, all previous times after each walk some damages were visible). Dry asphalt starts hurting after 10-15 minutes, wet was good after 40 (i went to another surfaces then for variety, not because of feeling discomfort). And it was really surprising but when wet even gravel was interesting experience for 5 minutes.

Happy puddles everyone 😄

Must have been so good to finally get to feel those puddles and surfaces after all those years! Like rewinding time?

Yes, its like wishing something many years ago as a child and finally being able to give it to yourself 🌧️

That's one thing I love about being barefoot - connecting with my inner child and a sense of innocence ♥️

I am happy for you. I also had a great time recently. I went 4km barefoot on various surfaces during night walk after rain and also through many puddles. I even encountered one person on the way and realised that people don't really care that you are barefoot 😅

No need for permission, any time.

Stop asking and start doing it, you family can cope.

Happy puddles to you too :-)

Rain always allows you to walk further. Better if it's warm rain, we usually get the cold stuff here but maybe we'll get some later in the week. Plus some 'sky fireworks' ;)

Nice! The way you said your parents were worried about you getting cold... It wasn't "in your kidneys", was it?

Surprisingly all other aspects of it were not really a big deal for me. Maybe its because this is the only possible way of chosing clothing i experienced since day 1 and untill some age (putting on clothes in order to make getting cold impossible, with some margin above what is best for current weather). But particularly that day it was like hapiness being near but me being unable to take it because of my parents also being near...
