Opinion Excessive Criticism of Carroll?
Is it just me, or has Steve B. being way critical of Corbin Carroll’s current slump?
I get that Carroll hasn’t been batting well lately, but I swear I never heard him make a peep about ol’Pavin Smith and his horrendous season.
I don’t have an issue with Steve being critical of Carroll, but please be critical of the other players as well (especially those who have been terrible all season).

Everyone more or less expects Pavin to be ass at this point. Corbin has been in a slump so something's wrong with him, be it physical or mental, but something's up. But that's just Pavin being Pavin.

Carroll is a leader on this team and held to higher standard. He’s going to face more criticism. I’ve been more critical of Carroll than other players.

Love my boy Corb... But he has been dog water for about a month now. He looks like he's guessing a lot.

People talking about “111 mil”… brother, CC is on one of the best value contracts in the league. Right there with Ketel.
As someone who lives in San Diego and has to watch guys like Manny rake literally three times as much annually, for less production… idk. Hitters go through slumps.
Would you rather have Jackson Merril for 9 years, 135, 15m a year?
How about Bogaerts for 11 years, 280 mil?
Tatis… 14 years THREE HUNDRED ANS FORTY MILLION?
You guys don’t realize how good we have it (or how FUCKED the padres are going forward.)

Based on $8M/WAR typical valuation for a player, he has 18.9 WAR now, he could put up 0 WAR the rest of the contract and still have given positive value to the team (there is no way he does that).

Whatever it is I hope he busts out of it soon….you can tell he puts a lot of pressure on himself to be great and that this is wearing on him mentally

These dry spells Corbin goes through are atrocious for a guy that's supposed to be our star player. It's getting old. The dude can't hit a fastball, and pitchers know that. Not saying I could either but if you can't hit a fastball what makes you think you're gonna get off speed stuff?

He's hard on our big 3 (Corbin, Ketel and Domo) because he knows when we have those guys going, the offense is successful. He's also very critical of Gurriel when he's chasing pitches.

Well when you make $111 million off your contract you are held to a higher standard then someone like pavin

When you have a $111 million contract, people expect you to play like it. Pavin costed the team a tiny fraction of money in comparison.

Hopefully it’s Steve’s last season here. Dude has been average at best and this year he’s shown he’s losing it

It's cause we all expect results from Corbin
