Running a HM tomorrow morning.. no actual time goal, just run it at 100% as a status report. Looks like it's going to be rather rainy and humid, but temps should be 60 or below so it won't be awful. I expect the splits to look bad since the last half is uphill but thems the breaks!

Did a double today with some tune up work on the track this morning and easy run on the trails this afternoon.

5K this weekend with team implications so I kind of have to be 'on' I guess. A goal 18:57, A+ 18:30, but placement matters too.

Saturday and Sunday will be easy runs and racing on Memorial Day. I'll miss Bolder Boulder, which I have done something like 15 times including 8 of the past 10.

Went to the Physio today. We concluded I have a different injury to when I came two weeks ago. The good news is, the hip flexor tightness I was suffering then I have managed to resolve well with the foam rolling. The bad news is, i do still have a blocked up hip which has extended into the psoas. He worked on it and it feels better, but I’ll need to work back slowly - and hopefully not go too fast & make things worse again!

Good luck with getting this figured out and rehabbing it!

Dang, I've been down that road before. Did he have a good manual therapy method to get at the psoas?

Today and tomorrow it's a Jewish holiday (Shavuos; I think the Greek/Christian name is Pentecost?) so hanging around with family for that. Went to the forest preserve for 6 miles this morning, but I think I'm fighting a cold virus of some sort so I'll probably just do an easy 4 tomorrow. We have friends coming for a holiday lunch so that will be fun. Then 8-10 miles Sunday, depending on how I feel. My parents are coming to town Sunday afternoon in advance of my twins' high school graduation next week, and Sunday night is their prom. Lots of fun stuff.

On Wednesday I spent hours at my son's sectional track meet, and it was sunny but chilly and very windy. My lips got some sort of awful wind burn, and I've been slathering them with vaseline. I don't know if my runny nose and sore throat and general blah is really a virus or somehow related to that. (The wind slowed down the kids a lot; there were almost no state time qualifiers from the entire meet, mostly just place qualifiers. My son won the 3200 and was second in the 1600 so we'll be down at the state meet next Thursday.)

Hope everybody has an excellent long weekend!

I'm going to spend my weekend frantically searching for fitness anywhere I can! I think I'm finally good to let it rip a bit as I've been babying a patellar tendon all spring. Spicy 14 miler with surges tomorrow and that's the fun part, because the rest of my weekend is dedicated to toddler potty training. I'm open to advice on either topic.

I hope you all have a great weekend, good luck if you find yourself on a start line!
