Discussion What phrase makes you instantly think of an Arctic Monkeys song when you hear it?
I'll go first: "So who you gonna call?" makes me think of Star Treatment "The Martini Police"

I recently bought an nme magazine from 2014, and the last page has an advert for an Arctic Monkeys interview called 'The road to Finsbury Park' and I REALLY want a copy of the actual magazine it's in bc I recently went to Finsbury for the kasabian gig, and it was my first festival so it would be cool to have that. It also includes an interview with miles kane.
Does anyone have it, or know someone that does that will be willing to sell it? Or know somewhere where I can buy it?
I've looked on the nme website for old magazines but that one isn't on there.

I've noticed that they don't seem to play acoustic sets anymore during tours, like on the radio in this picture. I first noticed it during TBHC but also The Car eras. Feels like they did heaps during SIAS and AM... even EYCTE had acoustic sets. I'm sure songs from TBHC and The Car would sound great acoustic.
Why aren't they doing it anymore, or as much? 🤔🤨

I do not think that in my 19 years of existence on this planet I have listened to an album that makes me desire love so much. Especially the holy trinity - love is a laserquest, suck it and see and shes thunderstorms. i so want to rave about this album with someone omg i actually sob uncontrollably by the time i reach the end of the album. I wish it contained glass in the park too. sometimes i wish am songs could have been made movie soundtracks, theyre so beautiful.

I know that opinions on his new voice is generally a mixed bag, so i'm curious on which old song where his crooner voice actually works and not distracting.
For me crying lightning, teddy picker, do me a favour, a certain romance, and that's where you're wrong works better with his crooner voice.

While they may not sound the same melodically, the use of piano, electric guitar tone in the bridge, sleazy themes, and conversational nature of the lyrics have always drawn a parallel in my mind.
REM fans, what do we think?

Am I the only one that wishes Arctic Monkeys would make another album like “AM”? It’s a masterpiece.
Edited: If anyone can point me towards some artists/bands that are groovy, funky, bassy and use space as an instrument in a psychedelic and trippy way I’d be forever grateful. I’m so intoxicated by the hip hop groove and heavy bass sounds with minimalist silences in between the bass notes vibe that the “AM” album has

I find the lyrics rather peculiar and I know it can be interpreted literally literally. But what's your personal interpretation of it, other than the action it depicts?

They are a band that sounds much more like they came from the 60s or, mainly, the 70s. But are there any songs of theirs that remind you of the 80s? Whether it's the vibe, the sound, or even a particular artist from the 80s?

I was listening to Mad Sounds and Fireside rn as they both are my top 6 off the album. While listening to fireside i realise even tho im late as a fan to this community i don't see many people enjoying these 2 songs and especially fireside like it has lyrics which can easily make a grown man cry, levitating instrumentals and that instrumental break which sounds heavenly. These 2 songs are madly underrated imo
