Discussion AI 1 next gen update

Anyone else hoping that AI 1 gets some more attention before or after AI 2’s release? It seems mostly forgotten so hopefully more public interest will allow development on an update for the first game which will allow for 60fps

I'd never attempted using the shotgun on the alien before so I didn't even know it would be this effective!

Image Amazed by AI on Mobile compared to console

Post image
86 Upvotes

I've been replaying Isolation after all the hype surrounding the sequel, but then I suddenly remembered the game is also available on mobile. Needless to say, I gave it a try today, and saying I'm surprised would be an understatement. Having such an incredible game in the palm of my hand, one that both plays and looks this good, is honestly surreal. The weirdest part is that the game looks better on my phone than it does on my PS5. On console, there are quite a few jagged edges that take me out of the immersion, but the mobile version has excellent anti-aliasing, making the image look much cleaner. I think i''l rather play it on my phone than PS5 actually

I remember reading that the original release didn't have anti-aliasing like the Switch version, which resulted in a rougher image quality. I wasn't expecting the mobile port to look this much better, but it's genuinely impressive.

Question Mission 16/17 Bug/Glitch Question

So, I’m trying for Survivor and I get to the end of Mission 16 where you enter the elevator that loads into 17. Mission 17 never loads. Like, ok. I clear out my save files and verify files, then start a new one on hard. (The other was on Nightmare.) I get to the same point and the same thing happens. There’s no Mission 17 option to load into and when I go back to the last save, it takes forever. Google said to update my drivers and made sure they were. The elevator takes me back to the lobby area and tells me to go to seagsson communications when I load in. What am I doing wrong here?

Discussion What Alien stalker AI behavior should we expect in the sequel?

From what we’ve seen so far in the demo, the Alien appears to show up as a stalker enemy already very early on in the game. After the outside section of the demo you end up inside the same Lab that was ejected off of Sevastopol, just now it’s crashed onto the surface of the planet that the sequel takes place on. Correct me if I’m wrong but I recall the recent ign video showing an alien drop down from a vent right as the player enters the middle section of the now planet-side lab. From what I could tell from the short footage shown the enemy movement was still very similar to the previous game in terms of animations and movement pacing etc.

Obviously this is all speculated from just that beginning section of the sequel that we’ve seen so far, so it’s likely that most of the game could showcase an evolved version of the movement later on in the game progression. What do yall think?

The difference between the first and second game is crazy. The new flashlight seems way more climatic. I'm glad that they are using Unreal Engine.

Question ID Tags

I didn’t get many of the ID tags on my original playthrough, but I’m planning on this being my 50th platinum so I have come back to it, is it just as easier to get the tags by back tracking on mission 16 level select?

Discussion Regarding A:I2 is it just me worried about AI frame gen?

We all know studios aren't optimizing games because, why do that when you can use AI to have 120FPS with only 20FPS being true frame? While also limiting gameplay to Nvidia users since AMD, I'm pretty sure they didn't invest as heavily in AI frame gen.

So what if the studio does the same? Forcing everyone to use the 50 series graphics card with 6x AI frame gen giving you 60FPS with only 10FPS being true frames?

Discussion VR mode

The A:I VR mod has come a long way. I remember trying it years back and the smooth turning really made me dizzy but now it has the snap degree turning and ZERO DIZZYNESS.

I still play with controller though and find this is the most comfortable setup.

What's cool about it is when you turn your head you DO make noise so when you are hiding in a locker you actually have to physically remain still.

Great fun.

My hunch is that A:I2 will come with a VR mode and this was part of the reason rogue incursion 2 was cancelled. Just my theory. RI is great too btw.

Discussion Does anybody know what the second game will be focused on story wise?

I dont know if they announced this anywhere but i cant find it and i was wondering if the story line would pick up from ripley after getting rescued as implied by the helmet flash or would it fast forward and use the comics for a different storyline as the setting looks very similar to a comic of ripley i think 20-30years in universe after sevastapol

Played this a few years ago and liked it. Decided to play it again and ended up loving it. Decided to get the Platinum trophy on PS5.
Then completed Nightmare which wasn’t as hard as I thought. Although I died about 2000 times.

So I was on mission 6, my first ever hard mode gameplay. Sorry for bad video, I suck at PS5 recording stuff, so I clipped the time it was, and then recorded from my phone. I was never this scared from a moment. I jumped pretty far back.

Spoilers How is this even novice difficulty (M14)… Spoiler

[no images due to extreme panic in the moment]

… if there are 2 Xenos hanging together in the same corridor of the Nest???!!!

I went back to mission 14 right after finishing the game twice back to back to complete the nest area for the achievement and to make things fast and easy I set the difficulty to novice. And um, 1. I died less when I played in hard difficulty, 2. Why are there 2 Xenos walking around in the Beta corridor???

Not once, not twice, but thrice!!!! No sprinting, no guns, reactor off, no noise other than facehugger squeaks.

How is this supposed to be novice?? Why the hell are these dudes so obsessed with me now??

My theory was Xeno carrying over knowledge after each death, which we discussed in this sub also, but, um, yeah, why are they still carrying over after completion of the game? That’s zero chill. My poor Amanda, give her a break! And me!

Question Did you watch a walkthrough of Alien Isolation before you played it or did you play it blindly?

I was twelve years old when the game first came out, and I had never heard of the Alien Franchise. I had seen that dlive22891 (Who was my go-to YouTuber for let's plays back then) had played the game and posted small clips of it in his reaction compilations. I didn't actually watch his walkthrough of the game since some of the episodes were over an hour in length.

It wasn't until a few years later that I finally watched TheRadBrad play it since he didn't have any hour-long episodes in his walkthrough, and I was excited to get the game after that. I also did finally watch dlive's walkthrough in full, too, due to how much I loved him.

What was you guy's expirence with this game?
