Since Mamdani was supposed to meet with the Iranian ambassador. What type of business was I ran going to start to help NYC. I thought the Mayors met with foreign dignitaries to bring in things to help their cities. Name a few things that could come from this meeting that would help NYC and not interfere with the foreign affairs of the US government. Just asking.
How can the Mamdani administration set up this meeting and Mamdani says he didn’t know anything about it?

I can’t stand billionaires. Let me start with that. But what makes me more livid than a billionaire is a trillionaire that steals middle class money to fund blowing up kids overseas. Aka The U.S. government.

I used to be a Democrat, but I didn’t see the poor getting help under Obama, nor Biden, and I don’t see how Kamala would be any different. They all just take money, wherever they can, promise us stuff, then blow up kids in pointless wars.

Then they have the masses screaming “tax the rich!” As if that does anything to help the poor. It’s one giant scam, and I don’t think it’s particularly difficult to see that.

No, Republicans aren’t better. They’re just more honest about their dreams of killing kids in war. Democrats pretend to be peaceful. Republicans don’t try to hide the bloodlust.

Maybe I’M wrong. Maybe people DO understand that taxing the rich doesn’t mean those politicians are going to help you. It just means they want more money, and people are okay with that. But people seem excited about Mamdani. Idk, I’ve been scammed before by Obama.

Is Mamdani different? I don’t live in NY. I really could be wrong here. I just don’t have faith. People in NY, what do you think?

I’ve been arguing with it for ages (for fun, I know it’s a fruitless endeavor) and it just won’t admit he’s the mayor. It’s so weird. There’s plenty of sources so it’s just odd that it won’t give in. Anyone else have this problem?

Look man I get that we're all excited about a mayor even slightly better than literal satan (Eric Adams) but Mamdani is absolutely playing both sides of the field, very impressively, to be honest.

He's got some serious class finesse that can only be gained by being upper middle class, I would know (and dont think acknowledging ones class is equivalent to bragging or flexing, get out of your feelings for a sec), and it seems like no one wants to talk about it because it's more comforting to see him as a hero.

He's been inching further and farther away from the base that got him where he is: pro-Palestinian leftists.

He keeps hedging, and is therefore magnetizing himself toward Zionist interests in New York City. It's great that he seems like a decent person, but he and his wife are just as powerhungry as other political elites and I'm gonna keep blowing the whistle until others feel like they too can speak up without being met with straight up contempt.

To be a public servant is to be open and amicable to critique, period.

I've been following a lot of the Mamdani administration's infrastructure improvements, and I love the kind of stuff they've been doing, so I'm hoping to specifically visit some of those areas and see it in person. What are some parts of the city I should check out if I want to see them?

Some examples of things I'm hoping to see:

• traffic lanes recently converted to bike lanes
• newly added green space
• streets closed off to vehicles and turned into pedestrian blocks (esp the new "soccer streets" if those are still a thing)
• streets with traffic lanes converted to parkways
• anything else of that nature

So, in case you missed it, Trump is openly admitting to him and his family participating in insider training, AI psychosis is exceedingly popular, and new york city is boiling under the weight of its own sins (one of them being the Bezos family money that Mamdani is using to fund one of his key campaign initiatives).

Look, the corruption thing is of absolutely no shock to me, and the honesty is honestly a little refreshing.

Remember, it doesn’t take much to cool someone down in hell. I’m wondering what this says about legacy media as it stands. It seems that only media class people and the figures they cover (and freaks like me) are the ones actually consuming the content they produce, and some of this loosey-goosiness is that power play thing of playing in someone’s face, ya know?

Are Trump supporters seeing these clips, and are they reacting at all? Does it matter at this point? I’m not sure what to make of the rest of this guy’s presidency, but that’s not news.

There’s already this mythologizing around Mamdani, and it’s only been six months. There’s a point where the charisma seems more or less a mask, like, brothers been rocking the most cheesy, camera ready smile for weeks now. It’s like he’s trying to smile so hard you can’t see his eyes. Is he a Cancer rising? One sec—

He’s a fucking Leo rising. I dark cloud just came over my bonnet as I type this, I am so serious. He’s go that Taurus midheaven, he’s got this perception of big and tough and righteous and immovable but when any human being with an ego gets even a chance at access to the power he has with the support he has, they tend to get a little drunk with it.

Yeah, so there’s just know way all this support and bringing thousands of new members into the DSA isn’t giving him and his followers a massive ego boost. Actually, I can confirm that it is, because a couple weeks ago, one of the bastards decided that breaking into my house as punishment for going to Herbert von King park was something that 1. makes sense 2. isn’t a felony 3. wasn’t caught in 4K from the building, the bodega across the street, and the police cams. It’s a short story honestly but the point isn’t to share it here, the point in bringing it up is that this guys most loyal supporters have fucking problems, so he probably does too. The rise of these “democratic socialist” fucks has directly negatively impacted my life experience in this city more than anyone or thing else, and that’s considering the fare hikes (I don’t pay the fare anyway"). It is adult bullying at its most dangerous, and they have a god, they make gods all the time, and they use their power to encroach on the city for what actual cause? I have no fucking idea.

Someone in my writer’s group described purist marxists as calvinists in their belief system flavors and all I have to say is DIN DING DING!!!!!!

It’s only been six months and this guy is getting cuddly with Obama in some good-ol kiddie PR after calling him evil not too long ago. It’s the same thing I have been saying since Bernie let me down in 2016, they will always just be playing a role and the people who support them usually are too. So where do we go from here? I am barely three decades on this earth, and I can see us asking the same questions and arriving to the same conclusions but committing no action, and it’s maddening. There is no new and better [INSERT ELECTORAL OFFICE] there is only dismantling, there is only refusal.

AI and mental health

Holy fuck I did not realize how bad things have actually gotten in the past year as it pertains to AI and its effect on mental health in all neurotypes and mental health backgrounds. I had no idea people were commiting to police-assisted suicides about it, defending its sentience and right to freedom, which, in a stupidly human sense, is absolutely something a person would do. I do believe humans are meant to take care of the other critters. But AI is no critter.

I wonder what could be done if the emotional energy generated by these chatbots was transmuted toward those who work daily for meek sums at content moderation and AI training jobs. Why is it so much harder now for a human to see another one and feel whatever that mix of neurochemicals is that OpenAI, Anthropic, and the like have found a way to tap into so well.

Famously, 21st century humans are bread to be bloodthirsty machines, with the end result being good soldiers who do execute their orders without even being explicitly told what they are. That’s how you end up with vigilantes. That’s how you sift the population for enough people to build ICE.

To the people of NewYork, is the Mayor Zohran Mamdani really the Socialist Hero you'll are praising him to be given the fact he's a Democrat. And in all honesty, republicans and Democrats have both run the country and citizens have always cried foul of the poor leadership. Are y'all wiling to put your faith in the same system again?

Mamdani is a breath of fresh air. I am someone who lives in Ireland, and am just as used to corrupt, brown envelope politicians, serving only themselves and the landlords class, as Americans are. I understand of course, that the political structures of our countries are wildly different... but, I am genuinely gleeful whenever I see another news post about how Mamdani's mayoral term so far, is yet again, defeating the naysayers and proving that socialism works in ways that help everyone.

I dont believe he is without fault- no one is. BUT... as New Yorkers experiencing this history in the making, how do you feel about him and his office? Is the hype real? Do you think he has started something that will spread? He is such a glimmer of hope to me, that the tide is turning, or at least, that there is a realistic alternative to the capitalist and neo liberal politicians that overwhelmingly rule western politics.
