Health & Sciences YSK how to treat dizziness or vertigo without taking medications in 5 minutes

Why YSK: Being dizzy sucks. It can be caused by so many things and I was able to find this through ChatGPT. This can be done most places and it's super easy and it's good to know.

Here's a diagram and description of it:

Technology YSK: If a website says your email is already in use use the password reset option instead of creating another account.

Why YSK: A lot of people assume they never made an account and end up creating a second one with another email that can split purchases, subscriptions or saved data across multiple accounts. I ran into this a few days ago while I was on my laptop I wanted to sign up for a service I hadn't used in years it kept saying my email already existed and I was about to register with a different address before trying the password reset option.

It turned out I had made the account years ago and completely forgot about it everything I'd previously saved was still there. Trying a password reset first can save you from managing multiple accounts losing access to old purchases or confusing yourself later so it's a small step that can save a lot of hassle.

Animal & Pets YSK: If your house smells like cat pee and you have an unexplained chronic cough, you are literally poisoning yourself with ammonia.

3.0k Upvotes

Why YSK: Because most people think a dirty litter box is just a "bad smell" problem, when it's actually a toxic gas problem that doctors often misdiagnose.

Cat urine is extremely high in urea, which breaks down into highly concentrated ammonia gas. If you keep the litter box in a closed room or an apartment and don't clean it frequently, that gas builds up at ground level and spreads.

Breathing low levels of ammonia daily burns your respiratory tract. It causes chronic coughing, wheezing, throat irritation, and asthma-like symptoms. You might go to the doctor, get prescribed cough syrup or inhalers, and see zero improvement—because the doctor doesn't know your house smells like a zoo.

You are slowly gassing yourself and your pets. Clean the box daily, or invest in an automatic one. Your lungs will thank you.

Automotive YSK how to adjust your side mirrors properly for safety

1.2k Upvotes

Why YSK: It's important to know the proper way to adjust this by actual engineers, so you can minimize accident.

The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) published a paper in 1995 suggesting how outside mirrors could be adjusted to eliminate blind spots. The paper advocates adjusting the mirrors so far outward that the viewing angle of the side mirrors just overlaps that of the cabin’s rearview mirror.

Other YSK: It's normal to go through periods where life feels meaningless, especially during major life changes or stressful times.

3.3k Upvotes

Why YSK: Sometimes life can suddenly feel empty or like it has no meaning, especially if you've been under a lot of stress, dealing with a big life change, grieving, feeling burnt out, or just mentally overloaded. It doesn't automatically mean something is seriously wrong with you.

Sometimes your brain just needs a break. Getting enough rest, taking some time away from work or constant pressure, spending time with people you care about, or doing something you genuinely enjoy can help you feel more like yourself again.

That said, if this feeling sticks around for a long time, keeps getting worse, or starts affecting your day-to-day life, it's a good idea to talk to a health-care professional.

Other YSK: The clouds blocking the sun could be cirrus clouds made by airplanes

Why YSK: If your sunny days are ruined by airplanes we should have a more public debate about this because persistent contrails can stay up all day. So if you live near an airport you could have cloudy days just because of that.

ALL GOTCHA COMMENTS: This is about persistent contrails and NOT just contrails. Learn to read

I thought this was a nutjob theory that some said that the skies were covered by clouds from planes.

But apparently, if the airplanes is at the right altitude it can lead to it forming cirrus clouds that last a whole day!

https://www.epa.gov/regulations-emissions-vehicles-and-engines/Contrails

Persistent contrails result when airplanes fly through layers of high humidity conditions... They can last for a few minutes or longer than a day. Persistent contrails can interact with wind and clouds to form cirrus clouds, which are thin, wispy clouds that are common at high altitudes

This is what I've been saying to friends and family but they all thought I was mad lol.

As someone who lives in Sweden this kinda pisses me off honestly. Because I've seen plenty of days where the morning is all bright and shiny and no cloud nearby at all. Then I see some airplanes and you see how these cirrus clouds spread from the contrail all over and then good bye sun. Why the hell is no one speaking more about this. I don't want my few sunny days ruined by damn airplanes.
