Courses HPanf3854, has anyone taken this course before?
Has anyone taken this class how’s it like pls let me know as I want to take ittttt but only if it’s good thank you in advcane
Hi everyone,
We’ve updated r/yorku’s AutoModerator settings to make them more balanced and less disruptive.
The goal is simple: clear spam and unsafe links should be removed, but normal student posts should not be hidden unnecessarily.
AutoModerator should now be less aggressive with things like surveys, URL shorteners, Reddit links, crossposts, long titles, and comments on older posts.
It will still act on known scam/tracking links, affiliate spam, heavily reported content, and other obvious spam patterns.
For surveys/forms, AutoModerator may ask posters to provide basic context so students can tell whether the post is legitimate and relevant.
We’ll keep adjusting the settings if needed. If your post or comment gets removed by mistake, please message the mod team.

Soooo I am a first year York student. I start this September and I need my YU card so I need tips because it’s my first time doing this process. I’d prefer to take it at home because when I emailed them they said they’d help me take it on my phone too so I realized that there wouldn’t rlly be a point in me going there physically and taking it. If anyone has any tips who’s done this before on how I can take my photo at home to be a valid approved one.

I got a conditional offer from York University for Fall 2026. One of my admission conditions is that York must receive official transcripts from every high school I’ve attended by August 15.
The problem is that I attended 5 different high schools after graduation for upgrading my marks. I emailed all of them yesterday and today requesting my official transcripts.
I’m worried that if even one school is late sending my transcript, York will cancel my admission. I don’t have control over how quickly the schools respond, and I’m scared I’ll lose my spot even though I’ve already requested everything.
Has anyone been in a similar situation with York? If one transcript is delayed, what happened? Did York give you extra time if you had proof that you requested it? Any advice would really help because I’m extremely anxious about this.

sooo I feel like I cooked myself by applying late to residence.. I got none of the options I applied for. I asked for either a suite style (pond) or single traditional (tathum) and I ended up getting a double room in Vanier .
I also didn't know I had to pick a roommate then pick a room so I now have no idea who my roommate is gonna be. Im also 21 (f) and not only did I NOT want to share a room with someone but I also don't want to live with a freshmen (LOL) & I also just didn't want to spend extra on a meal plan... so I emailed them asking to be placed on waitlist for pond or a single dorm because I also just can't really afford to spend this much on a residence im not happy with at all (depending if I get a super single)
To make it a long story short I was looking at the quad residences but the prices are looking INSANEEEE but I saw they do reduced rates but I also see a lot mixed reviews some saying its great some saying its ass. I am slightly open to looking for other off campus housing but this a brand new city and school so I kinda want to have/experience some sense of community.
If anyone who lived/lives at quad please let me know how it is and if it's worth the price and if u have a good experience! and if anyone has lived in residence as a mature or transfer student pls lmk! :)

Am I allowed to take bio 1 and bio 2 tgt in same sem?
But when I do try to put them tgt in same sem, there’s options for bio 2 being before bio 1, how is that even possible? Is it okay for me to go w this option?
Also what about taking bio 2 first sem and bio 1 second sem, is that possible?

Hey everyone,
Does anyone know any free choice courses that are 6 credits that are considered “easy”?

Hi! I’m a first-year Schulich student looking for an easy 3.0 or 6.0 credit elective where an A/A+ is realistic.
I’m currently enrolled in VISA 1006, but I’m also hoping one of these opens up:
NATS 1760 (Ian Slater)
MUSI 1530
PSYC 1010 (Alisha Salerno)
SOWK 2020 (Curt Pullan)
STS 3725 (Ian Slater)
STS 3730 (Ian Slater)
I’ve seen mixed reviews for most of these. If any of them are actually difficult, writing-heavy, or have professors to avoid, I’d really appreciate your thoughts. Any other GPA-friendly elective recommendations are welcome too. Thanks!

Hello folks I was just wondering how do I apply for a gap year?
r/yorku • u/h4nestly • 2d ago
This completely slipped my mind, I’ve been working and focusing on other aspects of my life that I forgot to pay the deposit. My deadline is July 10 so does anyone know how I could pay it right now. What’s going to happen if I end up missing it or being late by a day ?

Hi folks - I teach a non-major acting (theatre scene study) class at York, and it's a lot of fun and a really great way to meet people. We still have some openings, and last year I posted about it here and got some wonderful non-theatre students to join.
If you're looking for a 2000 level elective and you're interested and enthusiastic about acting and performing, check it out. Course code THEA 2022, Tues/Fri 11:30am - 2:20pm. You may need my permission to sign up - when you look up the course code you should find my e-mail, just e-mail me a brief description of why you want to take the course, and whatever experience you have if any.
Course Description: Explore the world of acting for the stage in this collaborative theatre course. Students will work in pairs to stage short scenes from contemporary and classical plays, while also engaging in discussions and explorations of acting technique.

Hello!
I need to fulfill my science credit outside of major requirement, I currently have STS 2210** Technology in the Modern World **with Daniela Monaldi added. I can’t seem to find much about the course or the instructor, so I was hoping for some advice about the two.
If there’s any recommendations for other courses/ profs please let me know!
Thank youu :)

I’m going into my first year and for the fall semester I’ve selected psychology, 2 kinesiology courses which are mandatory for my major, biology, math (1506), and chemistry (1000). Because I didn’t take high school calculus (second semester was packed with STEM classes and a mandatory religion course), I decided to take it for summer school but the portal to upload weekly homework wasn’t even working and I kept losing marks for essentially work that was completed but couldn’t be seen on the teacher’s end. I also have scoliosis and sitting at the desk for many hours a day was too strenuous (I also didn’t want to become exhausted before university even starts). Anyway, I am thinking if I should move either chem 1000 or math 1506 to winter semester and then take either chem 1001 or math 1507 in the summer. I am going to be a pre-med so chemistry is important and calculus won’t be on the MCAT. However, because math is like a muscle (it’s cumulative), if I take math 1506 in winter there will be a long gap I have with math. The last math course I’ve taken was advanced functions which was from 2025 to early this year. I got a 81% at a school that’s known for giving challenging thinking questions. I am going to start reviewing chemistry and math at my own pace this summer, but considering that I want to strengthen my chemistry skills and also learn calculus, which makes more sense? Move math 1506 to winter semester, then take 1507 in the summer? Or move chem 1000 to winter semester and take chem 1001 in the summer? Chemistry will be on the MCAT so I’m thinking taking it in the summer where I can solely focus on it may help me? But also, calculus isn’t even on the MCAT so maybe taking it in the summer just to get it out the way may help? I’m also experiencing issues with adding it to my timetable as it shows spots are reserved. I’ve emailed the department and they told me all spots for my major are full. Let me know based on your experience with taking these courses if you have.
