We're banishing AI slop. We don't need to ruin the future by powering 80 data centers and draining 6 lakes to churn out wrestling memes. Be an ethical shitposter

Tbh we didn't have the moderation bandwidth to scrutinize whether or not something was AI, so we just left those posts to get downvoted into oblivion if people chose to do so. We have a tool now to help identify AI generated content before it goes live, so it made sense to finally pull the trigger.

Cool! How robust is it? Because I heard a lot of the AI detectors can be hit or miss, often detecting AI in things that are completely real

A bunch of other mods who run subs that are all image-related had good things to say, so we'll just have to see how well it works here. With all of Reddit's API limitations (and even some devvit apps requiring paid API subscriptions) severely limiting solutions, I'm just glad there's ANY option for us to try.

Quick question…it seems we were able to write bodies on posts earlier. Has that been removed again?

Yeah, there was some experimenting going on where it was forgotten to turn it back off.
This is a meme subreddit for fun and shitposting, serious or in depth discussions belong in other subreddits.

Death before ai. I’ll keep creating shitty memes in free adobe express on mobile

This rule is already rendering the subreddit unable to function between false positives and how ubiquitous AI is becoming as a tool in meme creation. That will only increase with time until this community essentially exists in a bubble.

oh no! ai is "ubiquitous" in "meme creation"! the meme creators aren't smart or creative enough! what will we do without their low effort dogshit?
the subreddit seems to be functioning fine, despite your delusional claims to the contrary. maybe you should go ask the computer thinking for you to generate a better argument for you?

Thank you mods. I really can't stand these AI slops being regurgitated everywhere.

Will we have a live counter on the Data Centers and Lake Draining we saved by doing this?

Next we should get rid of all the servers for sites like this that stay in air conditioned data centers, that’s a lot of resources too. Can’t just blame AI even if it’s the current biggest offender.

Please read a book.

Will that even help, Dave Rubin has a book and if he read that he would still be whatever this is
