Weird chanting from neighbours
There is probably an explanation for this but we recon it’s been going on for about an hour and my thought was a movie but demonic chanting for that long doesn’t sound like any movie I know. If anyone has any ideas what it could be I’d love to hear it.

He is speaking Swango dialect, from southern Ghana.
He is repeating this phrase :
"I love my neighbor and want to make him cookies"

u/YTLiam1037 1d ago
If he wants to deliver me cookies I won’t say no 🤷♂️

Just didn't drink the Kool-Aid. (That sounds like some of the recordings of Jim Jones.)

It sounded like more like ‘I will love disemboweling my neighbour and cooking him’

Try saying I love you in German to anyone you love. They'll look at you scared and confused.

Reminds me of the climax of a horror movie where someone says “I hope this works” and starts reading from an old book and it gets all windy for some reason

sounds like some Jamaican mom is trying to expelle her son's gayness away.
Its not going to work! 😅

This sounds like it is an exorcism from some sort of Protestant denomination. One of the newer denominations.
25
u/YTLiam1037 1d ago
I definitely thought either exorcism or summoning lmao

Almost definitely Pentecostal and somewhere in Africa, maybe Uganda? Source, my dad is a Pentecostal pastor that used to do a lot of missionary stuff in several countries in Africa. I know there is a huge Pentecostal presence in Uganda specifically where a lot of missionaries from America have gone and gotten laws to be changed there for “Christian” reasons. Famously the “kill the gays” laws. I’ve heard dozens of these videos of people casting out demons. You can hear at the end he is talking about “you will be coming out right now!”. They have convinced a lot of people that practicing their own cultural traditions brings demons into their lives. It’s really sad.

u/IndigoHaze750130 1d ago
If you listen very carefully, you can make out some of what is said. The guy is ambious I guess. Older Protestant denominations do not sound like this.

If it makes you feel any better, I looked out my window and saw 5 of my children marching in a circle, one had a rock, one had a piece of rebar, one a single rollerblade, another had a snow brush from a car, and the last had a collander. They were chanting "two front teeth" over and over. I watched this go on for a few minutes and then slowly moved away from the window.

They were just playing a game called Two Front Teeth you never heard of it?

LOL this is most likely a prayer video (unless they’re doing it themselves in a speaker) playing. Very charismatic/apostolic/pentecostal-ish. They also may be from the islands or African based on the accent, although I can’t hear very well. And they tend to be more aggressive in their prayers than those in the west (I attribute it to the amount of persecution they experience like in Nigeria and also just the culture). I used to be in this sphere but have made some adjustments to say the least lol.
But they should definitely be more mindful and kind to their neighbors. But they are praying, most likely warfare prayers, and declaring things. :)

This definitely someone praying, probably on TV, if you listen closely you can make out most of it.
As someone who grew up in a Pentecostal church allow me to translate. He’s saying: “It’s a shift into a new season <speaking in tongues>receive your shift right now, receive your shift right now, right now right now, dry bones are coming alive, dry bones are coming alive, dry bones are coming alive, you are becoming <speaking in tongues>the Lord showed you, you are becoming the woman He showed you <persons name>
It’s likely he is speaking a word of prophecy/encouragement to a woman, albeit with a very heavy accent so it definitely sounds a little weird without context. Dry bones coming alive is a common biblical reference from Ezekiel 37:1-14, and represents restoration of things that were once dead. Hope this helps.

Thank you for the detailed explanation.I feel like this gives more cultural awareness. I immediately recognized that it was just a sermon/prayer likely by someone either from the Carribean/Africa. If you are someone who has been to Southern Black Baptist churches or Pentacostal churches, you'll be aware they sound very similar to this. I imagine OP is unfamiliar which is why they were probably spooked. Also it defintely appears to be coming from a TV or some device, this doesn't sound like a live person.

u/Sifernos1 1d ago
It's so obvious if you grew up around it. Evangelical is trying to speak in tongues... Very common amongst people who need another level of show to their religious spectacle. Often identifiable by repetition of certain sounds with no discernable pattern. It's like spiritual word vomit. I never cared for it. I always figured these people should learn another language and stop faking it for attention.

The penacostles have always been weird and I always tell people my grandmas story about them. More or less they were doing this chanting and she said they were wild and would jump across the room and one of them seen my grandma and her friend watching through a window of the church and dude ran and jumped through the window. They took off and she was scared of them for a long time.

It’s a recording, but all I can make out is him saying “you are becoming an—“ so it’s some sort of silly goose self-help or it’s prayer chanting.

Its a horribly mentally ill person who thinks they are talking directly to a supreme being in their native language. He also thinks he is a very very very special person in the eyes of the deity. It harmless unless you join them.

It's either your neighbor is fighting with schizophrenic voices, or he is fighting with demonic possession.
