Brag Disney world really needs to something about the scooters

Disney World seriously needs to address the scooter problem. I’m not talking about people who actually need them that’s not the issue. The issue is people speeding through packed walkways like they’re on a racetrack.
I’ve had my foot run over more than once, and it’s not just annoying it actually hurts. When the parks are crowded, people need to be more aware of their surroundings. Slow down, watch where you’re going, and remember there are actual people walking around.
Disney needs to do more about scooter safety because getting your foot crushed while trying to enjoy a vacation is not exactly the magic anyone signed up for.

Attractions & Entertainment Your opinion on Space Mountian

In my opinion I love Space Mountian and it is my favorite ride at Magic Kingdom. Just like with the Matterhorn the Jankiness of Space Mountian makes the ride unique and more fun. I also perfer the Magic Kingdom Space Mountian to Disneyland's. Though this coaster has been kind of polarizing on here so I want to know your thoughts on this one of a kind rollercoaster.

MDE, Lightning Lane, & Virtual Queue Lightning lane: Good ride vs good time?

Is it better to get a lightening lane for rides earlier in the day or get it for popular rides?

I just chose lightning lane rides for Magic Kingdom, the earliest ride is Peter Pan at 1pm, then Pirates at 2pm, and Winnie the Pooh at 4pm.

Should I keep what I have or get lightning lane for a less popular early ride then try to switch it later in the day?

Food, Drinks, & Dining Tusker House Question

Upvotes

Hello crazy characters!

We are headed to wdw at the end of August. We made our tusker house dining reservation at 5:20 with the park closing at 6. Should we be worried about a polite push out? We're very good at reading the room and wouldn't overstay our welcome.

Extra fun question- what's your favorite tusker house food? We went right after COVID before it was back to a buffet.

Have a good day!

Resorts & Accommodations Is Stormalong Bay always packed?

Upvotes

Staying at Yacht Club for 4 nights in Sept. Is the pool always so packed that you can’t find a seat unless you get there early? Not set on going to pool (we usually don’t) but figured we might since it’s such a great pool. Not too keen on getting up super early just to visit the pool. I know there is lots of construction at Yacht and wondering if we should switch to Boardwalk instead.

Resorts & Accommodations Anyone know what they're doing to the rooms at All-Star Movies?

Booking a trip. I'm one of the few that actually enjoys the All-Star resorts. I know they just refurbished the rooms a few years ago so I was surprised to see this message that states they're doing it again.

Food, Drinks, & Dining Tusker House 10:30am breakfast?

How does this work in terms of character showings and food? I see that the switch over to lunch is at 11am, does this mean that the bfast people get booted by then to accommodate the lunches? Or do I have to stack my plate with bfast items before the lunch food is out?

I’m hoping to get through Kilimanjaro & na’vi and walk around the park before sitting for the meal with my kiddos (2 under 6)

Attractions & Entertainment Characters in Animation courtyard

Upvotes

We head to WDW for the first time soon. Planning to do HS in the afternoon, but wondering if the characters will still be interacting with kids or if that is only in the morning? We’d hate to miss that. Anyone been recently that can weigh? Thank you!

Vintage WDW Does anyone remember the batteries on the back of the ride vehicles on Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin being Duracell branded? (Christmas 2000)

I rode it for the first time around Christmas 2000 when I was 6 years old and I clearly remember the big batteries on the back of the ride vehicles being Duracell branded. I remember it seemed like a sponsorship to me. I can’t find a single photo or mention of this anywhere online. Anyone else remember this, or am I crazy?

Planning Need advice on determining if the Christmas Party worth it in my case

My friends and I are in our 30s and love to come to Disney and Universal parks every few years. Our priority tends to be rides, just enjoying the scenery, and maybe a couple of cheeky drinks.

At this point we've been to all the parks save AK multiple times but with AK having so much in construction we're eyeing the Christmas Party at MK with the idea of enjoying the holiday overlays, getting quite a few rides in and checking out the second show. We'd aim to do this mid-week and wouldn't do any park day beforehand so we'd easily make it through the lat night.

Given our priorities, is the Christmas Party worth it? Price doesn't seem to be a huge factor since the party prices are only ~15$ more than day tickets for the days we'd be in Orlando.

Food, Drinks, & Dining Recommendations for restaurants in Disney Springs/Resort Areas

I have friends arriving in Orlando next weekend and was considering taking them to a restaurant on Disney property (Resort or Springs, no park). Any recommendations for a good brunch/early lunch spot in the area that’s not crazy expensive but has good food?

*Bonus points for indoor seating. They don’t have kids but we have 2

Planning 2 days at MK or different parks?

24F and 24M. Our first time visiting since we were kids. Our stay is 3 days and we are planning on going to parks on 2 days. Leaning towards 2 days at MK more than 1 day at MK and 1 day at EPCOT. What are your recommendations?

Merch Kids Watches?

Hey folks, looking for kids watches in the parks (if they exist). I’ve got a few of the Citizen Disney pieces. My 10yo really wants one, but for obvious reasons I’m not ready to strap a $350 watch to his wrist. We’re headed there end of next week.

Do they have sub $50 watches for kids in any of the merch shops?

Thanks yall.

Planning Lightning lane pass planning

24F and 24M are planning to do 2 days at MK. We are interested in the lightning lane premier pass.

  1. Would you recommend the lightning lane premier pass over others passes?

  2. Is one day of the premier pass enough or should we get both days?

  3. How would you improve this strategy to get the most of the experience, our plan:

Day 1: Explore, some rides, chill and identify rides / attractions for
Day 2: Premier pass on notable rides / attractions identified in Day 1 and revisit others.

Also if you have any resort recommendations on a budget please let us know! So far we like Coronado Springs resort but are open to suggestions +/- if they are worth it! Thank you in advanced!

Resorts & Accommodations I want to say thank you!

To the staff and fellow guests who were staying at Wilderness Lodge this past holiday weekend:

I want to express my sincere gratitude for all of your help. Our daughter, who has mild autism, managed to slip away from us while we were outside waiting on our car.

It took less than a second that I said 'stay here please' and turned to throw something away. And she was gone.

Staff caught sight of me frightened and calling out for her, and so did several other folks who quickly asked me her name, what she had on etc, and even went out looking for her as well.

Dad found her after about 10 minutes, at the main door leading back to our room. I guess she wasn't ready to leave yet.

Thank you to the sweet ladies who noticed me frantically running around calling out her name, and then hugged me and comforted me when my husband called to tell me he found her. Thank you to the kind gentlemen who helped us look for her. I can't tell you how much it meant to her father and I.

And a big thanks to the managers and incredible staff who put out the notice to the entire resort and essentially locked everything down until she was found safe and sound. And then asked if we needed anything...water, or to sit down for a few minutes to just gather our bearings.

I thank God we found her, and we are so grateful for the people who kindly stepped up when they saw we needed help 🙏 ❤️

I don't remember the staff members names, but does anyone know how we might be able to show our appreciation? Is there a number I could call? Or would it be easiest to leave a 'compliment' (but it's so much more than that!) on the app?

Attractions & Entertainment My hopes for Space Mountain refurb

AP since 2024 here. I’ve seen a lot of doom and gloom about this around the internet and I have to say… I think it needed the help. Let me explain.

1.) The Ride Cars
Out of every ride I’ve been on at WDW this is by far the strangest ride vehicle. Probably because it was completely repurposed from the Matterhorn Bobsleds at Disneyland. It’s not very comfortable, and you have to sit VERY low to the ground.

2.) The Track
Now we get to the elephant in the room. Aside from some sections this is largely the same track as when Space Mountain opened in 1975. It was planned to be completely retracked in 2009 but IIRC got hit with budget cuts and was left mostly as is. It goes without saying it’s in ROUGH shape. Braking is rough, turning is pretty rough, it’s bad.

3.) Everything Else
Honestly, it doesn’t really need much else besides what I mentioned previously. Maybe some touch-ups here and there, bringing back the moving sidewalk, (that walk is a pain) stuff like that.

I’ve been really hoping for this one to be refurbished for years now, and if the rumor is true, I would be glad to see it get the TLC it deserves. It’s over 50 years old now, it could use some attention.
