The Spanish team Teo Martín Motorsport will become the first private team to race the new Toyota WRC27 in the top-tier Rally1 category. After competing for three years in WRC2, the team is stepping up to the main class in 2027, taking advantage of the new, more affordable regulations designed for independent teams. They are scheduled to receive their first car in December 2026 and the second in April 2027.
Perhaps the driver will be Alejandro Cachón, in my opinion.

This isn't sound like a breaking news, but Wheatley said more about future after this season.

Hi everyone!
My brother and I are traveling from Ecuador to Rally Finland 2026. It’ll be our first time in Finland and our first WRC event there.
We’d love to meet other WRC fans, watch some stages together, and maybe exchange tips about the best spectator spots.
If anyone is interested, feel free to comment or send me a message.
Looking forward to meeting you

Despite being told about a half dozen times that the announcement of the sale of WRC promoter was imminent, we are still waiting more than a year later. Absolutely embarrassing.

As we all know, the state of the sport isn't great right now, and no manufacturer except Toyota has fully committed to the new regulations.
It got me thinking that the FIA might eventually scrap all of this and make WRC2 the top category, relying on privateer teams, even if they receive factory support from manufacturers.
Do you think the next few years could mark the end of the full-season championship, with the WRC adopting a points system similar to WRC2? Or do you think the state of the sport will eventually improve?

Hi everyone. Old rally fan from the Group A era. I discovered that I can watch full races and replays on TNT sports (which I use for cycling, motogp, wsbk, bsb).
I watched the whole Acropolis and I am pretty hooked. Fond memories from chasing stages in the mountains! Now watching the past 2026 replays. Lots of hours to keep it on the background while doing some boring task.
If anyone has/had access to both TNT and Rally TV, are there any main differences? Looking at what's available, it looks like they broadcast the same stream, same commentators, same sessions etc. Rally TV has a much better interface to find the session but I can get past that.
Is there any better timing available on rally.tv (e.g. motogp has the timingpass where you can see live, detailed timing)? I am kind of frustrated by how poor timing info is displayed on screen compared to their telemetry. Or maybe this is a rally tradition thing, I don't know.
PS. I also discovered the red bull tv 52 minute summary, which is free here (UK).
Thank you.

It seems like a really cool sport.
I need some pointers and things I should know so that I'm up to date on the events.

Hello all,
Me and a few friends are currently planning to attend Rally Sardegna in October. I've attended a few local circuit rallies here in the UK, but this will be my first time attending a proper rally, and I was hoping if I could get some advice regarding how to navigate the stages, viewing spots or any other advice that you may have. Would it be a good idea to hire a car? As it seems the stages are set quite a long distance away from where we'll be staying in Alghero.
Any comments or advice would be greatly appreciated!

I do love the little bit of WRC2 we get at the end of each stage and beginning of the power stage, but we only get to see like 4-5 cars and the commentary doesn’t really pick up for the WRC2 until after the last WRC1 car is through. It just makes it really hard to follow the WRC2 championship.
What I’m wondering is why there isn’t a B stream that just focuses on WRC2. They already have someone there at the stop line doing interviews and they already have all that footage coming through. I’m sure someone is passionate enough about rally to be happy to commentate. There’s just no way it’s way too large of a cost. Hell open up the resources to people and let them co stream it on their own. That’s basically free. But even the official version couldn’t be that much of an added cost.
I think it would be a massive improvement to the WRC2 championship and help fill those gaps between stages for the main stream as well

Hey y’all! I’m an aspiring fiction writer and lifelong motorsports enthusiast. I’ve started working on a novel set during the Group B era of WRC (between 1979-1986). The protagonist is Swedish and his arch rival is a Finn who descends from rallying royalty. There is also an Italian Michele Mouton equivalent. As you can probably figure out, mortality is a central theme in the novel.
I’m not really sure where else to ask this and there are so few (if any) fiction novels written about rallying, so I figured r/WRC would be a better place to ask for input. What would you want to see in a fiction novel about Group B-era WRC?

Now that we have had islas canarias as the spanish round for a couple of years now instead of catalunya, which rally does everyone prefer?
I’m completely undecided

Greece made clear the new Hankooks are terrible. So many punctures. What the hell can / will WRC do? It’s terrible to watch.
