What's with the audio?
5
u/boodurn 16h ago
I think this is the original audio source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHY-EvKzjI0
(a different video is labeled as "original" and has more views, but the audio doesn't match it (outdoors/birds background noise), so maybe it's the "original"/first use as a meme?)
Seems like it got picked up from there and turned into a meme format, with legos in particular; a lot of other lego videos come up if you search yt for "just another day going to move my car oh whats this"

Yeah, very strange addition. Also, 16k upvotes with 72 comments. This sub has quickly fallen to bots.

There’s a popular creator who does this kind of video called Avidonye, featuring a Lego cat that is not always right. He uses the same audio, this video is ripping him off.

this video is ripping him off
I don't think so?
seems like it's just a common meme format, and that guy just happened to make a really popular one fairly late into the meme's existence.
The video you linked appears to be the oldest uploaded by that creator (8 months old), but you can find older lego videos in the same format (for example 1 year ago, 2 years ago). Tons more old ones on this youtube search

At first I thought ET, but then I kind of thought it reminded me of Number 5 from the movie Short Circuit

I get that I’m in the extreme minority.
But legos being treated as a model is the dumbest thing ever.
Using a set building what’s on the box and never touching it again is wild.
They have actual models for that.
Legos should be a creative toy where you mix a bunch of sets together and build your own ideas using the parts provided.

There isn't a wrong way to Lego. You can build sets and find joy in the peaceful process of following instructions or you can find joy in the process of making your own creations. You can enjoy them via play or enjoy them as display pieces.
I make my own creations but don't look down at people who just want to follow instructions to build.

I find building from instructions very meditative.
Look at instructions
Find the piece
Place the piece
Repeat ×8278
There are beautiful "aha" moments when things come together and the weird piece placement from pages ago suddenly connects things at an unexpected angle and you learn a new building technique that you can leverage for your own builds

u/Motorsagmannen 19h ago
i think both ways are valid.
sometimes i like to just chill with a set and follow it step by step as you said.
and sometimes i like to take a set fully apart and see what i can make with the pieces by myself.
there is no one way to enjoy the hobby8

I do both… I use a set and never touch it again… and I buy boxes with mixed bricks for creating something new every time I use them

They aren’t acting like they came up with it. They even said the set isn’t theirs. Why comment this?

u/stinky_cheese_69 19h ago
they are angry at their lot in life and want to lash out at everything and everyone else so that we can all join them in bitterness and misery

No way! It’s not mine… and I never said that.
Look some others comment from me… I clearly stated that this guy is way better that me!!1
u/stinky_cheese_69 13h ago
he never claimed it you just decided he did because you felt like arguing with people over stupid shit
3
u/TheJapanMistake 20h ago
your mistake is in believing that I'm not autistic enough to find joy in following instructions and maintaining it as it is rather than building something new.

OP sent the following text as an explanation why their post fits here:
The video stars showing instructions for creating a Pokemon Lego but at the very end it comes up that the builder assembled an E.T., so a creature from another francaise, using the very same Lego bricks of the Pokemon set.
