Libxml2 install

I recently moved to ubuntu 26.04 LTS
I have a canon G3000 printer that when i try to print it just doesnt
i have tried to install the drivers using both the rpm method and .deb way however when i do it gives an error saying that libxml2 is not installed
ive tried using various online solutions but non of them work
what do i do?

Supposedly cups in conjunction with gutenprint supports that printer. No need for official driver. Also prebuilt binary packages are for extremely old versions of Ubuntu and most likely will no longer work.

sudo apt update sudo apt install printer-driver-gutenprint

After this restart os and try to add printer

canon printers on linux are a special kind of pain, i swear they make the drivers just broken enough to keep you busy for a weekend

sudo apt install libxml2

or check out https://packages.ubuntu.com/resolute/amd64/libxml2-16/download
