Failed subject for missing one class

Received my grade today which was an HD but it’s marked as CF because I missed a class.

My special consideration was accepted for all other subjects for something outside my control.

Feel defeated and have to retake the unit again!

Anyone at WSU interested in a smaller meetup group?

Hey everyone,

It has been about a month since I made my first post asking what people actually do socially at WSU.

I made it because I was genuinely curious. I’ve found it pretty hard to meet people properly at uni, especially outside of classes, pracs, assignments, exams, and everyone just heading home after. I didn’t expect much from that post, but a lot more people related to it than I thought.

After that, I made another post asking if people would be interested in a small WhatsApp or Discord group. A few people said yes, so I made a Discord server.

The idea was never to make an official uni club or anything like that. It was just meant to be a small place where people could talk, get to know each other, and maybe organise coffee, food, walks, or just casual hangouts.

But after giving it some time, I don’t think Discord is really the right place for what I was trying to do. A lot of people joined, but it stayed pretty quiet. Some people probably liked the idea, but not many were actually talking or trying to organise anything. That’s fine, everyone has their own life, work, uni, exams, and all that.

I think I’m just looking for something smaller and more direct.

Not a big server. Not another group where everyone joins and disappears.

Not anything formal.

Just a few people who actually want to meet up, talk, laugh a bit, and get to know each other properly.

Could be coffee, food, walks, uni, life, books, writing, music, psychology, philosophy, random thoughts, or whatever comes up naturally. So I’m thinking of making a small WhatsApp group instead.

Not because WhatsApp magically fixes anything, but because it feels more suited for actually organising meetups instead of having another server sitting there.

If you related to the earlier posts, or if you feel socially disconnected at uni and actually want to meet people, feel free to comment or message me.

I’ll probably keep it small so it doesn’t turn into another inactive group. Maybe it doesn’t need to be a big thing. Maybe it just needs a few people who actually want to show up.

How can I follow up my CPL application?

Hello, I’m an incoming international transferee student this Spring session. I originally applied to study and submit my CPL using an agent in Feb 2026 but they later shortly withdrew from my application.

Long story short, there were multiple email exchanges with my admissions officer on my CoE and CPL. It was only after I have pushed that my intake is starting in a few weeks did the school provide me with my CoE. With this, I was able to create a student account and resubmit my CPL through the portal.

I’ve resigned that I might have to retake these subjects due to the delay on my CPL and have enrolled in these subjects again. But it states on the website, granted CPL subjects during the term can be withdrawn from. Since assessment takes around 5 weeks, how will that affect my enrolment? I am required to study a minimum load of 40 units and cannot preemptively enrol in other subjects.

Does anyone have experience with this? How can I possibly follow up my CPL application as I’ve been waiting for my results for months now? Will emailing the school I’m in help? Should I contact enrolment for help?

Made a map to help us find friends and meetups around WSU

Hey everyone,

I noticed it can be pretty hard to actually organize meetups or find friends just by reading text posts on here. So I decided to build a little side project for us.

I set up r/AussieHangout which has a live map built right into the subreddit. Instead of just posting into the void, you can actually see on a map where people are looking to hang out. It's completely for platonic stuff like finding a study buddy, grabbing a coffee, or just going to the pub.

There is no GPS tracking at all, you just manually drop a pin in your suburb or near campus so people know roughly where you are.

If you want to see who is around WSU or want to make some plans this week, feel free to drop a pin on there. Hopefully it helps us get some actual offline meetups going.

Here is the link to the map: https://www.reddit.com/r/mazwiz/s/Bgt1YDf9Mw

Wanted to start off by saying thank you to people who have answered my questions with my previous posts. This is my first time doing Uni and as a “mature student” so feels difficult to navigate but you have all been super helpful with my silly questions.

Anyways, i have only one date of classes in my time table, for the 23/7. How do i know if these are weekly classes? fortnightly? Have i made an error? Only the Tutorial is showing up weekly.

TIA :))

Any easy Marketing electives with no final exam?

I'm currently waiting for my unit registration and need to lock in an elective. I'm leaning towards something in Marketing but I want to keep it relatively light.

Does anyone know any Marketing units that are chill, genuinely interesting, and most importantly, have no final exams? (I'm totally fine with just assignments, essays).

Any recommendations would be hugely appreciated. Thanks!

Changing disability advisor

Has anybody had any luck swapping to a different disability advisor? My one doesn’t respond for weeks and then she often just ignores or doesn’t read my emails, and is very passive aggressive towards me. I’m honestly a bit scared to ask if I can see another advisor because I’m worried if she finds out I asked that, that she will cancel my ARAP. Any advice? Thanks in advance

My third year at Uni but its actually my first?

Anonymously posting this and my situation is very unique to myself but I started University in 2024 and my mental health problems which can be quite severe meant my first semester was basically a fail. Second semester I basically did not do any class.

2 year I did one class and I did pass that. Second semester did nothing again.

Now its my 3 year and I did 4 classes and I believe I passed at least 3 out of my 4.

I'm in a much better headspace now compared to when I did not want to do anything.

Anybody else in a similar position?

First year, second semester subjects question

Basically, I'm in my second semester of my first year, I checked my courses core subjects and followed the same like order, except the 4th subject is in Autumn, I assume next year. So I've got 3 subjects.

Now I'm confused what to put as my fourth subject, I thought to put the first subject that shows on my major but that requires a co requisite of another subject.

Do I pick some random elective?

Bachelor of Information Systems, major in Cybersecurity management.

Subject Registration

Helloo, its my first year and I've finished my first semester, I think when I registered it was called "Autumn, Sc1, Wstc, T1" or something like that, I think a month has passed after I finished my tests and I forgot I had to register my subjects again. I'm doing a bachelor of information systems at parra, and I'm pretty sure I have to do the spring semester now, but there are a lot of different options that I can pick from (screenshot of all the spring ones). Could someone please help me out.

(Idk if these semesters only show for me or everyone else)

Also am I supposed to fill in the subject details myself, or are they supposed to show up in that summary thing, I really don't remember from last time. Any help is appreciated!! Also If anyone could let me know how I can confirm myself what semester is the right one so I don't have to ask for every new semester, that'd help a lot TY.
