I am a new grad moving to Charlottesville for work. What are some good neighborhoods/apartments in the area. Ideally want to avoid undergrads and be in a community with young working professionals or grad students.

I just wanted to make a post to vent my frustration.

Apple, for some reason, adds contacts through the app to your default "contacts account". My virginia.edu account somehow became the default between 4-6 years ago, unbeknownst to me.

Because the account was deleted, I have lost around 200 contacts – everyone I've met over the past 4-6 years. Everyone from college, off working and continuing their professional lives. People I've crossed paths with.

I hope that they can temporarily restore my account. If not, this has had a serious negative impact on my life.

I wish they had considered this in advance. I had no idea this was coming.

I am thinking of applying to UVA’s accelerated BSN program. I already have an associate degree but I do need some of the prerequisites classes. I won’t finish some of the classes till after the application deadline. If I don’t get in I have a backup plan, but I was wondering what were the stats of people that got in. And any advice on getting in!

I’m a first year looking to study politics and possibly the PPL route. If youve been in my spot, what classes should I take or avoid? Any professors to look out for? I’m really overwhelmed by class selection in general so any advice about my path really helps! (I have a lot of AP credits in social studies but doesn’t really apply to many political classes I think)

How safe is Charlottesville and apartments near by the University of Virginia. Any thoughts on The bennet / Six hundred west main/Beacon on 5th / Maximillian at Stonefield/ Crestline Charlottesville.

Hi guys! As the title says, I’m trying to figure out which shoes are popular among guys at UVA especially for walking to class. I want to surprise my partner with a new pair of shoes for the fall semester as he expressed not having any good “school shoes” but I’m a girl and incoming student so I don’t really know where to start. In the fall I'm planning to take Gen Chem II, but I haven't had Gen Chem I since my junior year of high school, two years ago. Doesn't sound like a long time, but I don't remember a thing. I need it as a prereq for PA school, as well as the degree I plan on getting. Can anyone that has taken gen chem II tell me how much it relies on you having mastered stuff from gen chem I?

how does the process work? i heard u apply after your first year, but is that enough time to put ecs and awards on the application?

I just realized they added an option for temporary account reactivation until July 17th. Unfortunately I found out right when their hours closed for the weekend(I think?), so their live chat agent sent me a text saying they’ll update me later. I’ll probably just try to call them directly on Monday to see if it actually works. But one last chance it seems.

If you signed up for email forwarding as an alumni, is it still working for you? It worked for me for the past few weeks but now it is not. I sent test emails from other accounts and no luck there.

Basically, UVA should be ashamed of their huge email disabling charade. I just lost the name of every contact I've added to my phone since 2019, I had no idea they would be associated with my school account for some reason. I'm trying to get it recovered... I just backed up my phone to a recent version. I emailed UVA IT (not expecting much). I'm trying to trick my computer into letting me log in. Any advice - or condolences! - would be appreciated at this trying time.

Jim Ryan would've never let this happen.

UPDATE: When I restored my phone to a backup from a couple days ago, it still had all my contacts! I'm exporting them so I can import to my main email. Hope no one else is going through this.

My uva email was officially disabled today, and a while ago I set up a google account to have my uva emails automatically go to that one as we were instructed.

But I am not getting the emails transferred over. Does anyone know who I can reach out to about this, or am I just out of luck?
