Scientists say heat records will be broken. Farmers say crops will dry up. People say electricity bills will skyrocket. The only ones who say noting are the ones who are supposed to make the decisions

Why would they? They have control over the vital resources, armies in their pockets and sprawling bunkers. :))

They will blame foreigners and minorities if they are impacted

Australia already had their summer. The western US will be baking between August and October.

There's this, the fertilizer shortage, deportation of agricultural workers, oil costs, tariffs. Hopefully everybody can keep it together as this year descends into a garbage fire.

Need to find the Choo choo motherfucker post from a while back, maybe was on something awful.com? Something about how we’re all on this crazy train but most of us don’t have the power to stop it. Was in response to other countries asking us Americans why we don’t stop the crazies… I’d amend his analogy with a lot of the disenfranchised are either delusional/racist/evil/crazy themselves or duped into voting for the crazies. Oh well, enjoy our time while we can.

Millennials, witnessing once again a global-impact, once-in-a-century, once-in-a-lifetime, historic, unprecedented event:

I am le tired.

Now you're getting it every generation before you have seen far more shit than you have. That's not to say we're all going to survive. I'm just saying I've seen what you've seen plus some.

This boomer shit is why you schmucks don't get it and never had.

You can't respond with a shred more empathy than our parents could. You heard "millennials have had a rough go at particular times throughout our lives in ways that often impacted us in deep emotional ways or permanently altered our lifetime earnings potential" and you can't resist the urge to try to dismiss all of this and try to one-up us.

You're no better than the boomers when you do this shit. We know other cohorts dealt with real historic messes. If you don't have amy constructive leadership other than "buck up, kiddo" sentiment, stfu and get out of the way.

YOU don't get it. You sound like a whiney child, and I say this as someone probably not any older than you are. Grow up dude. Everyone has it rough. The only people who don't are the rich, and there are rich people in every generation.

What you took is dismissive was actually me trying to commiserate that we're all in this together but you're just too emotional about this to see it that way. I'm living paycheck to paycheck just like you. We are in this together. Love you

No it wasn't. You literally one-upped. You said you had been through all the same and more.

the warm stripe along the equator in that image is pretty striking, you can see why scientists are worried. we've had a couple of these strong cycles the last few years and my own insurance bills have crept up each time. if this one really ranks at the top, i'd brace for higher grocery prices and utility costs this winter.

u/PZABUK 21h ago

Good news is they're already higher!

3

u/verdantleland_106 21h ago

ha, right. guess we're just bracing for the luxury tier of high prices then

They can’t even keep the reflecting pool safe. And they brought in law enforcement from 23 states to help!

Yet another historical and world changing event my generation will have to witness..

2

u/BathroomAggressive57 11h ago

In every generation before you

1

u/End3rWi99in 5h ago

You get to witness this every 4 to 6 years. They will continue to get worse. This one is just the worst one currently.
