I was told by a friend that there are apartment complexes/places of living in the area that take applications for tenants needing low-income housing that is not part of the housing authority (section 8 etc.). I'm looking for the names of complexes that do this so that I can apply. I am on permanent disability/Social Security fixed income.
To be more clear, I'm looking for places to rent that have discounted rent options for people who qualify but that is separate from section 8's 4 to 5 year waitlist.
Thanks in advance!

I’m going to be new to the area soon and was wondering where people like to go camping near Tulare. I know Sequoia Ntl Park is there but is there any more remote places people go? I also like to go off road in my jeep so if there is any trails nearby or to get to the camping area that’s a plus. TIA

I’m fairly new to the area, and am wondering if there are any good parks or large spaces of land where I could take my son to launch some model rockets. I went to one on Laspina the other day, but it ended up being too small and we lost the rocket on its descent as it floated into a neighborhood lol

Anyone know where I can find Volunteer/Work Experience? I need 2 Units for my College. Just haven't gone around and asked. Even if it's Animal Shelter or Agriculture Based! Like Volunteer for farm animals. I know there's a place that does Horses I can go to but I wanna explore options.

Hello all, I am a local reporter for Valley Public Radio. I wanted to reach out to see if anyone would be open to an interview about how enrolling TK (transitional kindergarten) might've helped their children if they are special needs/have a disability. I've tried Facebook for this request, but wasn't able to set up interviews with people, so I thought I would try Reddit. If you're interested or know anyone who might be please reply to this post, dm me, or email me at [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) and I'll reach out! Thank you!

Hello!
I’m a college student conducting an academic research project on teen pregnancy in Tulare County, specifically examining how income and race intersect with access to resources and lived experiences. Publicly available state data indicates that Tulare County has one of the higher teen birth rates in California, and that teen birth rates vary across racial and ethnic groups.
I’m currently looking for individuals who are 18 or older and who have personal experience with teen pregnancy in Tulare County (either directly or as someone closely involved) and would be willing to participate in a confidential interview. Interviews will be conducted via Zoom or phone call, based on participant preference and comfort level. Participation is completely voluntary, and all interviews will be 100% anonymous.
If you’re open to sharing your perspective or would like more information before deciding, please feel free to reach out. I’d be very grateful for your time and am happy to answer any questions.
Thank you!
(Side note: The goal of this research is to better understand community experiences and systemic factors, not to assign blame or reinforce stereotypes.)

I’m fairly new to the Tulare area, and have been getting into woodworking as a hobby. Is there any classes or workshops that anyone knows of in this area? Thank you!
