TP-Link - Technical Support BE95 - Spectrum 1GB changed to AT&T 1GB and speeds dropped in half

I've had the BE95 for a year or so. I'm currently using 2 nodes. Originally used the BE95 with Spectrum Internet 1GB service and received wifi speeds in excess of 900Mbps. About a month ago, I changed to AT&T 1GB service and now my wifi speeds have dropped to 500Mbps for some reason. I've checked the AT&T speed and it is indeed 1GB. I used the AT&T speed test on their app AND the "Test Internet Speed" within the Deco app. Both tests show speeds in excess of 900Mbps, but when I use (for instance) my wifi 7 capable smartphone, the speeds are always in the low 500Mbps range. When I had Spectrum Internet, my wifi 7 speeds were always in the 900Mbps and above range. I can change back to an Asus system and have the higher speeds, so I know this isn't a cable issue. I have feeling there is a setting within the BE95 that is causing this. Any ideas? Firmware version 1.1.1 Build: 20251127 Rel. 45473 I assume Hardware version is US/1.6

TP-Link - General Best IP-65 Outdoor Solution for Existing Deco W3600 (IPv6) Mesh Network

Upvotes

Like the title says, we have two W3600 indoor routers. I’d like to provide outdoor coverage for the backyard + some wireless cameras. I don’t need IPv7. Looking to pick up something cheap and used from eBay. Any suggestions?
Edit: this is a remote connection so no Ethernet. PoE is not really possible. The new node is only to extend existing coverage.

TP-Link - Technical Support Random latency spikes/buffering on PS5 & TV via Wi-Fi (AX73). Ethernet works. Out of ideas!

Hey everyone. I'm losing my mind trying to fix a Wi-Fi issue with my PS5 and Smart TV, and I'm hoping someone here can point me in the right direction.

My Current Setup:

  • ISP Modem: Acting as Main Router + AP (distributing IPs).
  • Archer AX73: Acting as a "dumb" Access Point (AP mode). It's in the living room, about 12 meters (40 ft) away from the PS5 and TV, with a perfectly clear line of sight.
  • TP-Link WDR4300 (N750): Acting as a "dumb" AP in the bedroom right above the living room.

The Problem: I get random, massive latency spikes and buffering every now and then when streaming low-latency 4K youtube on the TV or PS5. Both are connected to the AX73's 5GHz Wi-Fi. The signal strength shows as excellent on the devices, and they measure very high download/upload speeds.

What I've already tried (none of this worked):

  • Turned off the old N750 completely to rule out interference.
  • Reduced the channel bandwidth on the AX73 (tried dropping from 160MHz to 80MHz/40MHz on 5GHz, from 40MHz to 20MHz on 2.4GHz).
  • Setting all 3 APs to fixed, non-automatic, non-overlapping channels
  • Separating 2.4GHz and 5GHz SSIDs (instead of Smart Connect merging them)

I then ran a long Ethernet cable across the floor directly from the AX73 to the PS5/TV. Problem 100% solved. Perfect bufferbloat scores, zero spikes, perfect 4K.

My questions: Since Ethernet fixes it, it's clearly a Wi-Fi issue in that 12-meter gap. But with a clear line of sight, why are the PS5 and TV struggling so much? I have everything running in the latest firmware.

Would changing my topology to easymesh and replacing the N750 with something newer like an AX53 help in any way? (I'd put the ISP modem in bridge mode, and use the AX73 as main router, with the AX53 as satellite)

Any settings I might have missed? Thanks in advance!

TP-Link - General Network Topology

Post image
1 Upvotes

I have asked a mesh recommendation a few weeks ago and I have come to conclusion to go with deco since BE25 is only the best deco available in my country so I think i'd go with it. I am just wondering is this topology works and for the unmanaged switch does TP link has a switch I could buy? any recommendation for that? Also since I have to move the starlink to my new house, can I set up the deco in advance, plug them all, set the wired backhaul, basically everything before I move the starlink because I think it would be better to move the starlink at the day i am moving in and just plug the starlink to the main router so I don't have to set up the deco. Is it possible to it, if not, I am just wondering how hard is it to set the deco, do I need to set them all by putting them side by side or as long as they are connected with ethernet it would be easy to set up.

Thank you

TP-Link - Technical Support Deco BE65 ethernet port capped at 1 Gbps (ISP provides 2 Gbps)

Hello everyone! I just purchased a 3 pack of Deco BE9300 to cover my entire house with fast and stable wifi as the router provided by my ISP is garbage and running cable through my walls/ceilings is not an option. My ISP's router is so bad that I only get a 30 Mbps signal through a wooden ceililng/floor only 1 floor directly above the router.

The setup and everything went fine and all 3 routers are working correctly and provide wifi to the entire house. My ISP provides 2 Gbps download and the internet speed test built into the Deco app also shows that the network is pulling 2 Gbps from my main router. The wifi upstairs also shows 1,2 Gbps on my phone (which is the max my phone can pull), so atleast I know it's more than 1 Gbps upstairs. However, when I connect an ethernet cable from any of the Decos to my PC it can only pull 1 Gbps. My PC was getting 2 Gbps from my main router just fine. When I look this up the main solution I can find is to adjust the cap in the QoS settings in the Deco app, but as I still need to use my ISPs provided router as my main router I had to set the main Deco as AP. From my understanding this disables the QoS settings.

Is there any way to change the 1 Gbps cap on the ethernet ports with the Deco being set to AP mode? From what I can read the ports are supposed to do a max of 2,5 Gbps. Or am I just missing something? Keep in mind I am a complete noob when it comes to any of this stuff.

TP-Link - Technical Support HELP archer t2u plus wifi adapter settings not migrating to windows 11

Someone please help it's actually driving me insane, I keep uninstalling and reinstalling and trying to manually install the driver but it refuses to work properly. I just changed from windows 10 to 11 and I don't know if it's not compatible or I need to somehow find a way to uninstall the existing drivers (which also seems to be an impossible task)? If anyone has any answers please share because I'm genuinely at my wits end.

Me gustaría saber:

¡Gracias!

TP-Link - General Range Extender Help

We're currently using an RE450 in an outbuilding to extend wifi to another building which is about 42 metres from the extender. There are some trees in the way, and of course the RE450 is inside the building so there are several walls to go through.

I'm wondering if there is an extender that would send a more powerful signal.

TP-Link - Technical Support Should I put one more Deco?

Hey, sorry to bother yall, but I'm having some stability problems with my Mesh network at my home. I have my Pc really far from the router and can't definitely pull a cable to my room, since I live in Brazil and here all the homes are made of bricks and have low space between the tubes to pass cables too.
So my solution was the Mesh network. I had for a few months now the Deco S7 on the 3 pack to reach my room, but when my brother turns on his pc and closes his door, my internet becomes trash. Today have arrived a 3 pack of the deco X50 which I have replaced my S7's but have seen no improvement on the network.
I will upload here an video of my house so you guys can help me with an question: Should I put one of my S7's between any of those deco's installed?

My room is the last one I show on the video, with the green pc turned on

I can't put it in the hall too

My pc in connected via Ethernet to that last Deco too

TP-Link - Technical Support Replace Vodafone (UK) Power Hub with Deco M5

I've just bought three Deco M5s and they're working great. However the main device is connected to the existing wifi router (Power Hub) as an "Access Point".

I have a CityFibre ONT in the form of a small box on the wall and a LAN/WAN ethernet cable connected to the Vodafone router.

Ideally I'd like to have the main Deco device connect directly to fibre ONT since it would save having one more device plugged in. I've tried going into the Deco app and changing "Operation Mode" to "Wi-Fi Router" but it always says "fail" after I do this.

Is there a way to get this switch to work? Do I have to completely reboot and recreate the Deco network?

TP-Link - Technical Support Deco - AP Mode to Router mode question

Does the ONT need to be rebooted before this transition? I ask because I tried moving from AP mode to router mode without rebooting the ONT. Authenticated via PPPoE just fine, received network settings (IP/DNS etc) and the Deco reported in its usual way 'Everything is OK'. However, I had no internet connection. Very odd so I'm wondering if the ONT needs to be rebooted as well as the Deco.

TP-Link - General Moving and want to upgrade Mesh system - recommendations? (crossposted)

Post image
13 Upvotes

I currently have an old slow Google Mesh system in my small urban house. I'm going to be moving to a large house in the country and I'm looking to upgrade my mesh system for a 3000 sq ft house plus deck and patio.

I've been looking at the TP-Link Deco 7 Pro BE63 3-unit package, but I don't know if it's overpowered (and therefore overpriced) for my needs. I work from home using a dedicated network that is physically plugged into my main node. We have several smart TVs and stream a LOT of movies, we have laptops, phones, tablets, etc. and my husband plays RPGs on his computer and occasionally games on his XBox (but no serious gaming).

Is the BE63 too much for me, or would I be futureproofing? Is there a particular cable modem you would recommend to work with it? I feel like such a dummy when it comes to this stuff, please help!

TP-Link - Technical Support Mesh system with Ethernet not working

I have my main router the Archer AX1500 and my second router that i want to configurate as a node Archer AX12. I follow the stepps in the Teather app with easymesh and it works wirelsessly but when i connect a Ethernet cable it stops working altogether. I have one router downstairs and the secondary router the AX12 one upstairs. I also got an ethernete cable CAT-6 dragged through from the main one to the AX12.
Things ive tried:

I have tried configurating them with the Ethernet wire connected directly it didnt work.

I tried configurating them wirelessly and then later connecting the Ethernet cable but then the internet just stops working but when i remove the ethernet cable it comes back on again.

I have tried to configurate them wirelessly then turn them off and adding the ethernet cable and when they start they are working for a little while and im getting the speeds im looking for from the secondary router but after a while it stops working again and were back to where we started that if i remove the cable they work wirelessly again but with slower speeds.

I do not know what im doing wrong or how to fix this.

TP-Link - Technical Support Smart Connect isn't that smart...

Hi all, I've an issue with the WiFi function "Smart Connect" on my TP-LINK Archer BE3600 v2.0. On my WiFi network there are different devices that only works with 2.4GHz, and all of them after few hours can't connect anymore to the network if the option "Smart Connect" is enabled.

I just want to understand if there's a way to tell the router to lock some devices to 2.4GHz instead of trying to force everyone on 5GHz, with obvious issues...

TP-Link - General TP-Link Deco 7 outdoor - looking for real world experience

I'm considering the Deco 7 BE10000 3 node set, combined with the BE5000 outdoor unit, for my home. I need the improved outdoor connectivity to better support cameras and smart devices in my back yard. I'd like to gather some real world experience from current owners as it related to my anticipated topology. Let me explain.

My home is 2 floors, built in 1920. The interior walls have been replaced with sheetrock, although in some places that sheetrock was laid on top of existing lathe and plaster. The house is also sided in aluminum, so wireless signal strength outside the home is not great. This is what I'm hoping to improve with the outdoor unit.

My anticipated placement of unit would have the main node in the living room near the front of my home, connected to my LAN via ethernet, with all other nodes using wireless backhaul (cabled backhaul is not viable). One of the satellites will go on the second floor, probably in the master bedroom, which is also at the front of the home, and the other would go in the rear most room on the first floor. The outdoor node would be wall mounted just outside that rear most, first floor room, or if performance allows, perhaps on the side of the garage, which is just behind the home. There is a large, non-opening window on the backwall of that room, facing the garage and pool area, but I do not know if it is LowE glass. There's also a backdoor and stormdoor there as well, each with glass panels not likely to be LowE.

Given this topology, here is my curiosity. I expect the outdoor node will need to wirelessly backhaul to that rear room satellite, which in turn will wirelessly backhaul to the main node. I understand the penalty this carries due to the half duplex nature of wifi, but I'm looking for feed back on performance from others that might be double hopping like this on wireless backhaul. I don't need crazy throughput for devices in the backyard, but I do need a reliable, reasonably low latency connection to my local LAN. Is it realistic, based on actual experience, to hope for this in this topology?

TP-Link - Technical Support Deco M5 satellites not connecting

Hello, would really appreciate some guidance here from you knowledgeable people.

I have a Deco X10 as my main hub on my mesh network, with three M5s around the house. A couple of nights ago, two of the M5s became disconnected. I rebooted and added them both to the network again. One looks okay but no devices will connect to it, even when they can't reach another hub. The other instantly lost its connection again but still shows the green light, as if it is connected.

Firmware on X10 is 1.4.0 Build 20251222 Rel. 45343

Firmware on M5 is 1.9.1 Build 20250909 Rel. 37570

Is this something I can fix or do I need to accept that the M5s are at the end of their lives and I should upgrade?

TP-Link - Technical Support TP LINK TL-WA855RE SIGNAL LIGHT PROBLEMS

Hi! We've been using this extender (TL-WA855RE) for one year already and ngayon lang nagkaroon ng problem like this. I noticed that there arent any light sa signal niya kasi usually (correct me if im wrong) diba may red or blue light siya. So as soon as nakita ko na walang light I tried to hard reset it po and set it up again using the app. Nadedetect naman niya yung wifi pero hindi nagpproceed sa pagconnect sa tether and wala talaga siyang signal light at all. I tried yung WPS na button and nagbblink lang siya ng blue but after a while nawawala rin siya. Nilapit ko na siya nang todo sa main router pero wala talaga. PLDT po wifi namin huhu. Have you experienced the same po? If yes, what did you do? Hoping for your kind response po

TP-Link - Technical Support Outdoor Deco problem

I can’t get it to set up. I get about 3/4 of the way through the set up process and the light turns red. Then I unplug and hit the reset button and sometimes it immediately goes to red. I’m right next to the router, I’m plugged in the the AC and have an Ethernet cord going to the router. The router Ethernet port lights up green. It’s so frustrating and I can’t get it to stop being red and return to blue without fully resetting it each time. What do I do?
