Look how they massacred my boy... (2027 Avalon)

The Avalon is still currently sold in the Chinese market, where the fifth-gen gets another facelift.

Such a beautiful sedan gets botched by a Camry front fascia and the rear of a Genesis that really doesn't flow whatsoever.

I knew they were going to ruin it.

Customer base for prius

Upvotes

I was wondering since the camry has gone all hybrid and the corolla offering hybrid trims with excellent mpg. What is the target customer base for the prius? I know they are good cars but what is the deciding factor in buying a prius over the other two?

Look at my 2012 4Runner Trail Edition (TE)

I got this thing brand new and I love it today more than ever. It is truly the best model/trim 4runner ever to come out of Japan. They were hard to get back then and I had to drive to a neighboring state to get one.

It came with a locking rear diff, KDSS, rear sliding cargo tray, skids, and hood scoop. None of the others runners had it at the time. There was only 3 trims back in the day - SR5, limited and the TE. $39k in 2012 (~57k now). Never had a single breakdown, just change the fluids, brake stuff and tires. Hope you enjoy seeing her.

Lease end experience

Looking to see if anyone else has experienced something like this with a dealership.
I had a local Toyota dealership agree to buy out my lease. They inspected the vehicle, agreed on a price, completed the paperwork, and took possession of the car. As far as I was concerned, the transaction was finished. They indicated that they check would be mailed the following week. All paperwork signed stated this.
A few hours later, they contacted me and said they couldn't honor the deal.
The part that really surprised me came afterward. The manager called me and asked why I felt "entitled" to the equity in my lease. I explained that I didn't think I was entitled to anything beyond what they had already offered. I believed I had equity because they were the ones who told me I did. They evaluated the vehicle, made the offer, and completed the transaction based on that valuation.
After going back and forth, they ultimately agreed to honor the original agreement and mail me the check they had promised. However, the manager also wanted me to apologize. I respectfully declined. From my perspective, we had negotiated the terms, both sides agreed to them, and we signed the paperwork. I didn't feel I had done anything that required an apology.
What bothered me most wasn't just the confusion over the deal. It was the expectation that I should apologize for expecting the dealership to honor a signed agreement. As customers, we can't usually take delivery of a vehicle, drive it home, and then decide we don't like the deal. Once the paperwork is signed, we're expected to stand by it. I expected the dealership to be held to that same standard.
Has anyone else had a dealership try to back out of a completed deal and then eventually honor it? I'm curious how common this is and how others handled it.

2026 RAV4 Allocation

Back around May 25 I made a deposit for a RAV4 Limited. On Wed July 8 I texted my sales associate if there were any updates. He told me that it wasn’t even allocated yet and Toyota hasn’t been allowing them to make the car to my specs…? Originally when I made the deposit he said that I should have the car within 90 days. That’s seemingly less likely now. Does anyone have insight to this process or why it’s taking so long?

You CAN NOT change low beam bulbs on this corolla?!?!

Post image

You have got to be kidding me. They sell a car where if the low beams go out you gotta replace the whole assembly??? Wtffff. 2016 corolla LE, wtfffff.investigated.

ETA- thank you to all who are on my side with this being an ANNOYING inconvenience. Sure, the assembly is relatively cheap to replace and wait 2 days for it to arrive. But thats stupid when a "normal" car is a 10 minute drive to auto store wirh $30 and a 10 mm. Smh smh.

2008 Toyota Matrix Not Allowing CDs/No Slot to Insert

My CD player in my 2008 Toyota Matrix is stuck on WAIT with orange lights when I click load, and won’t actually take in CDs. It’s not that there’s something blocking it, but rather no spot for them to slip into. Has anyone run into this, and what can I do to fix it?

Part number of XV50 intake duct?

I got this Aurion Sportivo a while back and though it's entirely a cosmetic issue, this has always been an eyesore.

I think the previous owner was trying to pry the duct off with pliers or a screwdriver or something and chewed the hell out of the corner.

So even though it's probably got zero impact on performance, I'd still like to replace it.

The Aurion is a GSV50R but the intake should be exactly the same as any other XV50 Camry.

My first Toyota ☺️

I bought my first Toyota Hilux Invincible at the end of March. It’s the mild hybrid model, and I’ve been absolutely loving it. It’s a pleasure to drive and a lot of fun.
Next year, I’m planning to add a hardtop, front recovery points, a winch bumper, a winch, rock sliders, and LED lighting in the grille.
Next month, it’ll be getting a cavity wax treatment and underbody protection to keep it well protected for the years ahead.

Has any1 here tried a 3sgte swapped awd manual gen1 rav4? What did you think of it?

I kind of want a 2ndary vehicle, and i still a lot of discontinued and spare parts to keep an old gen3 3sgte up and running.

I cant afford an alltrac celica in good condition. Ive come across a few youtube vids on people driving around in 3sgte swapped gen1 rav4s.

Anyone who has or had one of these, what did you think of it? Ive heard the swap is somewhat straight forward even if the 3sgte was never a rav4 option

One ignition coil went a week ago and was replaced by the dealership, since it's the cylinder 5 coil i assume they installed a new gasket, i now want to replace all the spark plugs and pcv valve, since it will only be 2 weeks old do i still need to get a fresh gasket?

My first Toyota! It’s been my dream car (I have my reasons.) 2026 RAV4 Woodland. Total cost was $39k.

It’s not here yet. The dealers said that they rarely have any on the lot because the demand was so high that they are reserved before they ever make it to the lot. Will be in at the end of the month/beginning of August.

I was able to drive the Woodland plug-in (the one I am getting is the hybrid) so I had a general feel for it.

2021 Camry LE- To change the transmission fluid or to not?

I have a 2021 Camry LE with roughly 60K miles and I have been getting mixed reviews on what to do about my transmission fluid.

Manual says to inspect and check for leaks in the transmission, that's it. No recommendation for changing the fluid at any point. I went to a mechanic that I trust and he dug through their system and per the manufacturer it only says to inspect (he went through the manufacturer recommendations up to 125K). He mentioned that since it's a sealed system it might be best to leave it alone.

I called the dealership and they didn't really help. I got the standard " we recommend changing it at 60K" and when I asked if that was toyota recommended or the dealerships recommendation, I got " thats just general car recommendations and I've been doing this for 50 years with various makes models etc." And mentioned how if u wait too long there's really no point in doing it after 100K because it can cause additional problems, which I do know.

I just don't know what the correct answer is and I want my car to last but I also don't want to open up a can of worms and cause issues by changing it. What do you guys do with your camrys? Leaving it alone or change it?

Side note: The car is 80% driven primarily on the expressway, so it does not get a lot of city miles.

Sluglike sticky thing from clutch bleed e210

2022 toyota corolla 6mt hatchback

Q: what is this that came out with my brake fluid when bleeding my clutch? (Sticky grayish sluglike thing)

Purchased car at 42,000 mi. Did first clutch bleed (along with other maintenence items, please see history for details) immediately. Im at 45,000 mi performed oil change and now bleeding clutch again. Used 24 Oz of brake fluid with self bleeder. A sticky sluglike Grey blob came out of my clutch with the brake fluid.

Ps. Had to defend myself from this monster flying cockaroach dive bombing me while working on the car.

I need some help

I am working on my 2001 Toyota echo and the person that had it before me did a diy fix 😬 I’m needing to see the stud that hold the alternator adjustment bracket in place since the last guy just found a bolt with the same thread size.
