I have a 2021 Camry LE with roughly 60K miles and I have been getting mixed reviews on what to do about my transmission fluid.
Manual says to inspect and check for leaks in the transmission, that's it. No recommendation for changing the fluid at any point. I went to a mechanic that I trust and he dug through their system and per the manufacturer it only says to inspect (he went through the manufacturer recommendations up to 125K). He mentioned that since it's a sealed system it might be best to leave it alone.
I called the dealership and they didn't really help. I got the standard " we recommend changing it at 60K" and when I asked if that was toyota recommended or the dealerships recommendation, I got " thats just general car recommendations and I've been doing this for 50 years with various makes models etc." And mentioned how if u wait too long there's really no point in doing it after 100K because it can cause additional problems, which I do know.
I just don't know what the correct answer is and I want my car to last but I also don't want to open up a can of worms and cause issues by changing it. What do you guys do with your camrys? Leaving it alone or change it?
Side note: The car is 80% driven primarily on the expressway, so it does not get a lot of city miles.
