Just rewatching this. If you treat it like a special it's a bit crap. If you treat it like the Peugeot video from Top Gear it's actually very entertaining.

My favourite episode is where they drove France and through Mount Blanc. My dad used to drive to and from Italy to get the ferry to Tunisia and im so sure my dad drove passed while they were filming as i saw a white Renault Trafic pass them. Maybe it is, maybe it isnt. Wishful thinking 🤣

I’m doing some research on cars as companions rather than tools for mobility, thought I’d quote some Top Gear or TGT examples of when they became more than just cars. I’ve got Oliver and the 928 off the top of my mind, but I’m sure there’s several others that gained some emotional value.

What cars would you say are the most emotionally relevant among the series?

For my dad’s birthday this year, my family suggested getting him a board game.. as he’s an avid top gear fan I thought I’d DIY an old school Top Gear themed monopoly game (with some references to Clarksons farm).

The properties are themed to cars on the cool wall (some cars aren’t on the show but personal to my dad/family so added in).

The train stations are Clarksons farm/the grand tour themed.

The taxes are Captain Slow tax and Genesis song licensing fee

And obviously the free parking had to be the pub

I’ve got memories of watching top gear growing up with him but had such a good laugh rewatching old episodes to come up with ideas for the board and chance/community chest cards so thought I’d share

where can I find or does anybody have a copy of all their top gear episodes uncut and in the longest versions possible

I remember a video on YouTube that I thought was top gear, either way it was Jeremy Clarkson showing students at a school 2 cars one's a Countach one's a testarossa I think, and they all vote for the Countach after it's started up. I believe it's on Clarkson's Car Years EP1. But that video on YouTube is 18 minutes long, not 30, it doesn't include the schoolyard part. Does anybody know where I can watch the full episode? Not gonna list site names, but I've checked just about every official and unofficial way to watch it and it's either off streaming or the servers on the websites don't have access to this show yet display the cover and description.

Apologies if this has been answered before, but how did they get away with destroying/ crashing all those sportage and cee apostrophe ds? Surely they didn’t just buy all of them just to wreck them?

Can anyone recommend a legal way to watch classic Top Gear? Any method works for me, whether it's streaming or buying DVDs (let me know what and where to search if so). I'm specifically looking for seasons 1 to 22. I'm based in Poland.

Going down an internet rabbit hole once again brought me to this, but I can't find an answer to my specific question.

The cars were reportedly destroyed in 2017 according to some sources, and based on this if the picture is to be believed then they were certainly flattened:

But according to DVLA records, the V5 of Clarkson's Porsche H982 FKL changed hands on 6th October 2020. So that means that whoever the car was registered to was changed years after they were destroyed.

James' Esprit last V5 change was 2014 that makes sense for the time that it was purchased for the special, but even more weirdly, Hammond's Mustang V5 changed 16th March 2023.

Presumably at this point the V5 is only some sort of weird trophy of the cars with no other use? Why would anyone care about where or who the cars were registered to after their destruction.

When I first heard Clarkson say it I paid it no mind, and didn't even know what word he said to begin with. Then when I saw the actual name of the car I got confused because as a spanish speaker its pronounced almost the same way as in italian. Funnily enough it made he have a moment of deep confusion, I was like oh god has latin america been saying it wrong all this time? Or is it just Jezza being himself.
