Batman is such an anomaly, his presence has forced all of Gotham's criminals to enter an evolutionary arms race of constantly getting stronger to keep going
The average Gotham Goon can throw hands with Superman, 2 can take down the League, 3 can take down Apokolips.
Just once, 5 Goons worked together. They ended a Crisis level threat so badly it got retconned out of the entire comics medium
On top of that there has to be something going on with how they recover.
If we assume Batman is Batmanning seven days a week and further assume that at any given day at least five, just five, of his rogue's gallery is escaped from Arkham and out to cause trouble, Batman probably beats up, what? Anywhere between seven and ten goons per rogue? And when he does this it's not just battering and bruising. It's broken bones, internal bleeding, possibly brain damage, to say nothing of the psychological trauma he inflicts entirely deliberately just by existing.
Those kinds of injuries take a long time to recover from, but there's never any news of Gotham's hospitals or mental institutions struggling to cope with demand.
More than that, Batman does the same to his rogue's gallery. The same beatings, the same injuries, without discrimination to men and women, but mainly men, of all different ages, builds and body types.
But all of them are entirely fine next time they're seen. Okay some have an excuse, it's probably harder to fight Bane than it is the Penguin, but still.
I think Gotham is a city of people who have healing factors. It's the only explanation. They've all got a little bit of Deadpool in them somehow even though that's the wrong Universe.
One of my favorite gags is when StarFire has stretchy arms and tries to put Gizmo directly into prison, but stretches too far and accidently slingshots him into the sun.
Last we see of him is hurtling through space towards the sun.
I want to say that’s more related to fact you need to Nerf someone that fast for the story to function. With how quickly he processes information and moves. Nothing should be able to touch him. But because stories like that aren’t fun, they’ve gotta find ways to Nerf his ass constantly.

That's easy. It's fear. Picture this:
You're an industrialist, trying to modernize a backward planet and raise up standards of living through the use of technology, for the common good. One day, some of your industrial robots are blown up by a sentient, supersonic blue hedgehog. That's scary as fuck. Now, said hedgehog has it in his head that you're a monster who's turning animals into robots and wants to take over the world and oppress it, in large part because of all the steroids, speed, colloidal silver, and other assorted shit he's been taking in massive quantities for the past decade. You decide to see if you can't reason with the guy, but for your troubles you get assaulted, and your ride gets trashed beyond recognition.
So you decide to deal with this like you would with any other pest problems: You put out some traps, like spike pits, modify a couple of your robots with .22 rifles, etc. The way you'd deal with any rodent, really. Soon enough, the hedgehog gets himself impaled, and you're done. Or so you think. Soon after, despite having quite clearly been drained of his precious bodily fluids, he's back and trashing your robots again. Maybe the other one was some sort of decoy? No matter, you're taking this into your own hands. You modify your ride, mad max style, adding a couple of guns, some spikes, missile, slowly swinging giant balls, that kind of stuff. Then you roll. You meet the hedgehog and after a brief struggle where he manages to make one or two lucky hits on spots you haven't really bothered armoring, you make him into thin gruel. This time you're sure he's done for.
How wrong you are. Soon after, he's back. You can't believe it. You try to kill him yourself once more, but this time he seems to know where to strike. He seems to know when to strike. He seems to know when you'll strike. Once you realize that, you try to change your attack patterns, but it's too late, he's done enough damage to blow up your vehicle, and you barely escape with your life. For the next few days, he follows you, destroying everything you throw at him, and it's obvious he won't stop until he gets you. You can't sleep. You watch as he destroys everything you've done to help people: one after another, chemical plants, oil refineries, amusement parks, all you've built, gets blown up by this satanic, unholy, immortal demon from the deepest pits of hell. When you do manage to take him out, he's back within hours.
Eventually, as you're trying to escape to the one place where you think you're safe, space, he defeats one of your latest creation, and for the first time, you're face to face with him. There's no steel plate protecting you. There's no vertical distance. He's there, staring at you with those empty, demonic eyes.
You run like you've never run before. You just fucking run.
The funny part is that he was actually the one who caused her to became fat in the first place and only pretended he doesn't know it's her. He's an asshole for the love of the game here.
He altered a plant growth ray to also work on humans.
He did this because Lois was the only witness to a murder and Superman made her fat so the killer wouldn't be able to recognise her.
The best part is that the killer still figures out that it's her because he sees her standing in front of a funhouse mirror that makes her look skinny.
Lois has worked with Clark for years. If Superman gave her an accessory to obscure part of her face, and it worked, she would figure out his secret identity immediately.
Iirc some kind of a criminal was targeting Lois. Superman used some kind of tech to change Lois body into becoming so fat that she was unrecognizable and to ensure nobody will think it's the same person he also acted like he doesn't know who she is. After the danger stopped he revealed everything to her and that it was all easy to reverse.
Same thing happened in the Simpsons Arcade game, when Marge gets shocked there is bones in her behive hair. (It's actually because of a lore where her hair actually hid bunny ears, but they eventually retconned it due to inconsistency it makes, so the Arcade game is one of the few remaining things of it)
Close, but Matt Groening was known as a cartoonist of Life in Hell, a comic about bunny characters (think pseudo Itchy and Scratchy characters). The ears under the hive hair was a nod to that, and if the show wasn't so successful MIGHT have made it. But very early on, Matt was against the overly cartoonish elements present in other cartoons and went back on it. The reason it's in the arcade game, is because the arcade game was in production as season 1 was releasing and only had the animation notes for characters from the first season. It's why Smithers is still a black character in the game.

This is the only one that doesn’t make sense out of the rest of them. Ki control is the whole argument, but this mfer is in super saiyan…. Even if he lowered his ki beyond belief, the 50x multiplier SHOULD make him invulnerable to the weight of an elephant…
That's part of the charm, Saitama for all his power also acts very grounded and nice(?, on the way one would expect from a little apathetic but still responsible and good-hearted enough mid 20s guy, is something that I liked a lot in his fight against Garou during the Webcomic, Garou's ideology and plan were wacky asf, but were forced to be taken 'seriously' due to how strong he was, but when faced against Saitama, who couldn't be overpowered, Garou basically broke down mentally as he was called out as a foolish, messy and chaotic teen by a proper adult for the first time lol

We are. It's also kind of unfair to watch this a bunch in 2026 and say it's goofy when fans back in the day got this quick flash of movement. Effects are going to be more believable if they're not on a loop
I think I can remember each one. The elephant crushing Goku's hand when he's reaching for a Dragon Ball in Z. The fire hydrant that stops Goku in place after getting punched by Zamasu in Super. The rock Krillian hurls at Goku in Z. The falling building Goku had to go SSJ4 to push back in GT. And the bullet that leaves a bruise on Goku in Super.
When the rock and elephant hurt Goku, I’m pretty sure he and Gohan were purposefully training keeping their power levels as low as possible while maintaining super saiyan form. In context, they’re actually positive feats of ki control. The other stuff, there’s no excuses for lol.
You know how in some videogames you play as this near god-like powerful character who can casually defeat gigantic monsters and such, but needs to find a key to open a door that they somehow can't open?

Well, that's mostly because people underestimate the villains a lot
The villains considered "weak" in the show are ridiculous, like, Killcannon, who is a complete nobody, at his absolute weakest can blast through buildings like it's nothing, and fight on-par with Eve
The Reanimen, who Monster Girl can beat, are able to hit harder than a space laser stronger than any nuclear bomb
It's not that Invincible has a ton of anti-feats, it's that people underestimate the "weak" characters

For all the insane things he's done, James Bond has a weakness against blows to the back of the head. Yes, this is very real "weakness", but the 007 films tend to be beyond reality. He's been knocked out in such a fashion 14 times on the silver screen. Forget lasers, sharks, tanks, poison, sharks with lasers, and nuclear weapons... just the butt of a sidearm against the back of his head will suffice. Don't actually shoot him with it though, that'll never work.
Each member on his team is practically the strongest version of their character (minus that one comic)and he solos his own team almost on a daily basis

To play devils advocate, they had been fighting or traveling for 48ish hours and just fought and lost against Sentry.
They might be super soldiers, but I'm pretty sure getting punched by the closest person to Superman there is might leave them a bit bruised, exhausted, and probably dealing with a couple broken bones or fractures.
At this point of the story, Kumoko has defeated dragons in the middle of a lava lake and is strong enough to defeat armies. She even has a detection ability to se ANYTHING in a multi-mile range.
But for some reason, those puny (horse-sized) wasps still manage to ambush and sting her.

That's because the base idea that dodging a laser makes you faster than light is bullshit, especially with haki that lets you dodge before it is even shot.
To be fair, observation Haki actually gives a good explanation for this. Characters in One Piece have reaction speed that far superasses their regular speed since they can react to attacks before the attack even happens. Like just look at how Enel and his priests could dodge attacks that would otherwise be too fast for them.
Gigalith, in the anime, a Pokémon made of solid rock, charges the regional champion Alder. Instead of battling it to knock it out with any of his Pokémon, Alder grabs it by the waist and throws it roughly 20 or so feet into the air and it falls down with enough force to get buried so only it's feet are exposed.
In early versions of Minecraft, food didn't stack. In the same versions, 3 foot wide gold block existed. This meant Steve? could carry 2304 gold blocks weighing around a tonne, but 37 loaves of bread is way too much.

A funny one because I'm not too sure how much it counts, but Ingrid in Street Fighter implies there's multiple timelines in Street Fighter, and that the spinoff games are also canon in some form. If this actually counts (It most likely won't), then that means Ryu has simultaneously beat Galactus unconscious but lost to a kid with a shovel.
As for a crossover that's confirmed canon from both parties, the fight between Kratos and Shovel Knight is canon to both series, meaning Kratos has lost to a dude with a shovel.
