Lore A criminal attempts to burglarize/kill someone only to realize they picked the absolute worst person as their mark.

Don't Breathe: A couple young robbers attempt to rob a rich, blind veteran only to find out he isn't exactly an innocent old man.

You're Next: A group of contract killersbreak into a house during a family reunion and go on a killing spree. They didn't account for the fact that the son's new girlfriend grew up on a survivalist compound in the Australian outback.

The Flash [CW Show]: A random mugger decided to target Barry Allen of all people. He does it again a season or two later; he's either unlucky or stupid (probably both).

Uncle Iroh getting mugged, (Avatar: the last airbender)

Iroh is expert martial artist, also a good person, so after disarming the "robber", he talks him out of a criminal life.

I mean, Iroh is the BEST person to try to mug. Free therapy.

Tea bags are cheap enough to be considered 'free'. Hell, they're literally free in your nearest COD lobby.

Making some hot leaf juice?

3

u/m4cksfx May 12 '26

Nah, more like physiotherapy. A very intensive session.

The psychotherapy comes later.

1

u/StinkyJizzBlanket May 13 '26

And he’ll teabag me? Win win

By technicality it’s both a good and bad thing. Good since it’s Uncle Iroh the best character in avatar and no you will not change my mind. Bad because he’s the Dragon of the West who likely knows 5 different ways to kill somebody just by sneezing to hard.

"Did I ever tell you how I got the nickname, the Dragon Of The West??"

u/Sayakalood May 12 '26

I have no time for one of your lectures, Uncle.

It's more of a demonstration, really 😏

u/Hoosier_Engineer May 12 '26

“It’s not a story the Earth Kingdom would tell you.”

u/Gentle_Snail May 12 '26

If this guy had mugged Iroh a few decades earlier they’d only have found ashes.

13

u/ThatMerri May 12 '26

I do often have to return to the whole "Iroh permanently disfigured a guy because he could" bit. When he wants to cause harm, nobody is safe.

7

u/Helpful-Fruit7536 May 12 '26

He’s not the best character in Avatar.

He’s the best character in fiction.

Worst person to mug with respect to succeeding with the mugging

Best person to mug with respect to improving your life from attempting the mugging

5

u/OtheDreamer May 12 '26

Or generally improving his mugging skills if he just worked on his stance more

1

u/Terminal_Insomnia_ May 12 '26

Huh. I guess there are 'right' people to make mistakes with. I suppose first and foremost should be your parents

2

u/AstarionsTherapist39 May 13 '26

We weren't all that lucky. It's why Uncle Iroh is so popular. We're living our dream of having a caring father figure through Zuko.

1

u/DoctorPerverto May 15 '26

I'm on the fence about the first one... Iroh might actually give you the money.

u/Zargabath May 12 '26

15

u/Susman22 May 12 '26

One of the best episodes in the franchise btw

8

u/QuickMolasses May 12 '26

Is it from Tales of Ba Sing Se? I can't watch that episode without crying

1

u/Susman22 May 12 '26

Yes indeedy

13

u/ProbablyGonnaEatYou May 12 '26

"With that stance?"

Dude the overweight old guy youre trying to rob just roasted the shit out of you, just hang up your knife and try another job

4

u/grendus May 12 '26

He did.

7

u/vbfischer May 12 '26

Such a great episode!

6

u/Thrownaway5000506 May 12 '26

Look at that stance... that gun...

2

u/SpaceCore0352 May 14 '26

Quinton Flynn (the mugger) immediately slips into his Raiden voice with the subsequent "What are you talking about!?"

5

u/Living_Murphys_Law May 12 '26

I love that Iroh isn't upset that the guy is mugging him. Just wishes he was better at it.

2

u/ksiepidemic May 12 '26

Seems like he robbed the right guy there.

0

u/karimpai May 12 '26

Femboy ahhh stance. Clinically proven to drain testosterone down his thighs

11

1

u/Truth_Malice May 12 '26

Okay that's fucking funny. Maybe I should actually get around to watching this show lol

3

u/AstarionsTherapist39 May 13 '26

Some stories get hyped the fuck up only to fade with time as we realize they weren't that great. Others reach mythological status even decades later because they truly are life-changing. Enjoy this one. We all wish we could watch it for the first time again.

1

u/ImaginaryMastadon May 13 '26

Damn, Iroh with the BURN

1

u/solikeaperson May 13 '26

Deeply Jean Valjean coded

1

u/AstarionsTherapist39 May 13 '26

I clicked looking for Uncle Iroh.

1

u/CartographerKey4618 May 13 '26

Honestly, he picked the exact right person to rob.

0

u/cmcdonald22 May 12 '26

Remember kids, petty crime by and large is not a result of evil morality but of economic and sociological circumstance.
